It was simply a warning that if they continued, they would fall from grace, etc.
And this warning is the same as all of the many warnings in the NT.
IF a born-again believer doesn't do things God's way, he/she loses salvation.
Now you need to find out what God's way is!
Hint: it is not sitting back and relying on God's grace.
Proof: the many warnings about losing salvation.
But did they continue to remain side tracked, permanently look to be justified by the law and lose their salvation? Show me where it says that. Also, show me the words "lost salvation" in the Bible?

The issue IS sin, and all throughout the NT is written:
"Keep on sinning and you will lose your salvation."
YOU are a member of the Laodicean church (Rev 3).
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Now show me the words "lose salvation" in the Bible.

God is not bound to satisfy your demands of any kind.
But, He insists that you pay attention to His Spirit when you read Scripture.
Instead of being deceived by your church.
Those who are led by His Spirit are sons of God.
Not those who are led by their church.

Yes, I guess that's why the Lord scattered the bodies of the Israelites all over the desert floor.
And now you'll tell us that they were destined for heaven.
Paul warned that this was an example for NT believers to take heed to.
They never had faith in God.. Yet he still showed them grace. by letting them walk for 40 years.. He could have killed them all on the spot.

Good Morning All.

I guess I need to live my life according to the Word of God because it is to confusing trying to listen to everyone on here. Always be obedient to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. If I have a problem with the Word of God then I take in prayer and seek presence of God. Confusion is not of God, but folks trying to interpret the Word of God with opinions. I am guilty of that as well. The Word of God is about instructions and teachings. The old testament and new testament support each other because like a coin one side is the old and the side the new, but ONE coin.
No, the word of God is about Jesus.

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life." John 5:39-40

Why does this forum debate on the Word of God every day because I will feel I am disrespecting God , Word and I am lacking maturity. How can we take the Word too Muslims, Hebrews, and the lost when we do not agree among one another about the Word because I will not listen to a person in confusion. We cannot just fellowship among folks we agree with our threads, thinking or the clique. This room reminds me of the church sames problems that are destroying the church within.

King James Bible
For God is not
the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
since God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

Yes, when Jesus was blasting the Laodicean church in Rev 3,
He invited those church members to knock on His door and come in and fellowship with Him.
(BTW, this is another criteria for salvation ... the reciprocal "knowing" of each other.)
Note: This invitation was NOT to unbelievers as the churches teach!

Please try on Romans 6 for size ... and tell us in a sentence or two what Paul is saying.
Paul is obviously talking to born again christians and telling them to stop sinning. But the reason for this is yet again not to earn salvation but rather do what is right.

Paul ends in verse Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is Jesus who is standing at the door of your heart, knocking, asking you to let Him in.

For someone with nothing to say you seem very adept at getting it in people's faces.
Holy Schmoley!!! Marc has an extraordinarily gentle demeanor, and for him to share in such a manner is eye-opening. A wise and prudent individual will see the value of his words, take them to heart and hopefully learn from them.

Yes, do what is right and stop sinning ... or you will face eternal death!
3 times in 8 verses (Rom 6:16-23), Paul warns: sin leads to eternal death.

Paul is writing to Christians in Rome who already know
unbelievers face eternal death because of their sinning!

What is also worth mentioning about rom 6 is that the sin issue has been dealt with by the Cross of Jesus, we are now dead to sin so it has no effect on us.
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What is also worth mentioning is that we NOW have the ability to CHOOSE to not sin.
This ability is because of the new nature and the indwelling Holy Spirit and the Scriptures.

2 Corinthians: 8. 1. Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2. How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
3. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
4. Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5. And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

:smoke: the gift is not about any material gift

My heart breaks for those who put millstones on people's necks rather than choosing grace.

This ability in the new covenant makes it so we have NO excuse for failure.
But, there's NO condemnation for the good little boys 'n girls
who do what is only their reasonable service! (Rom 12:1)
Duz we have any here?
