So I was going through the forums and read so many posts on dream and vision interpretation. There are so many people having dreams and visions about God and Jesus today. Now I wonder: if it is true what it says in Joel:

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions" (Joel 2:28)

aren't we in the end times right now? Surely we have to test if these dreams and visions are from God, but if that can be established (with Scripture) can't we be sure Jesus is coming soon?

Yes, we're in the End Times and have been in them for 1900+ years. Better to spend your life getting to know God than figuring out when the end is going to happen, given no one in 1900+ years has guessed the latter yet.

The scripture tells us why dreams occur [Ecclesiastes 5:3], that "dreams come through the multitude of business", and this is through our daily living of things which we see and hear.

I was in a hotel last week...like maybe Arizona or New Mexico and I dreamed of giants....when checking out there was a picture in the hall which quoted Genesis....and there were giants in those days....now that was wierd!

well you will get different replies depending on what others believe, some know this scripture and can see it to be true others are very anti dream and vision.
But yes this scripture is very true in fact it has never been more true as ppl are having dreams and visions a lot more than 50 years ago and a lot fo them are very similar as well bearing the same message. Of course some ppl do not yet have the discernment to know a regular dream or a pizza before bed time dream apart form an actual dream from God and often times will seek out interpretations and honestly many interpret their regular or pizza dreams as something it isn't because they either have not mastered the gift of interpretations or don't have it to begin with.

I have had many of these dreams and visions and I have found God always reveals their meaning in time even if that is a year from now and when I first have them sometimes I cannot find any biblical evidence in them but then later on I find scriptures that are quite clear in my dreams or vision

Clearly scripture teaches that the prophesy in Joel is to Israel and not to the Gentiles. The Spirit is poured out on all flesh but the dreaming and prophesy is for Israel.

Those who are dreamers today are just wishfully thinking and not biblically thinking.

according to who is this clearly taught? The thing about bible prophecy is a lot of the time the words spoken to by the prophets pertained to both their times and ours

I believe some dream are from the Lord, some are not.

Almost every time when I have a good sleep, I dream.

Sometimes a dream is just a dream sometimes you just get strange dreams from the food you eat before bed I sometimes get wierd dreams from my sleep aid, it takes discernment to tell the difference between such dreams and ones from God

Why wouldnt' it be true? Either you believe God's Word....or you don't. Dreams is one of the major ways that God communicates with us!....except we can't talk back....!

You are mistaken on this. Scriptures says, "It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions." God will pour out "on ALL MANKIND" Not just Israel or believers. He will speak to unbelievers as well for the purpose of bringing them into the Kingdom.

Just after my conversion I had a few dreams. One of the most telling was;
I was so upset about the waste of my life as a Christadelphian compared to the newness of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my life. It was as if I was arguing with someone and complaining that all the things I had learned about the scriptures were not true and I needed to purge my mind of all the rubbish they had put there when a voice said . . "Do you really believe that?". If Jesus is going to speak to you through a dream or a vision you will know it. How? I will explain it this way, there will be no doubt in your heart and you will know that you know.

I used to keep dream journals. For many years over the course of decades I did dream work, as I had some inkling of it being a means of how God communicated to/with people. (I was not a Bible believing Christian then, but had a very strong sense of there being much more to life than meets the eye.) I cannot tell you how often I would dream something very specific that would some time later happen according to the very specifics I had dreamt. Sometimes it would be weeks later, and other times it would be that day. For instance, one night I dreamt about a cousin I had neither seen nor heard about for years. The very next day he phoned me, laughing and saying I would never guess who it was. The joke was on him, LOL, because I knew who it was right away, and told him I had just dreamt of him the night before (I was not particularly close to him but was fond of him as a cousin; he was quite a few years older than I). Sometimes it would be some little detail, like walking down the street and my purse falling off my body, and then days later I would be walking down the street and my purse strap would break somehow, causing my purse to fall onto the sidewalk. People will say things like, oh, maybe you subconsciously noticed something about your purse strap. That hardly explains the many other things that I could not have possibly known anything about, that I would dream and then would later occur. The Scripture somebody gave says that a dream comes with much business, but that does not in any way mean that dreams are just about mundane events. Dreams are full of details which can be interpreted as busy-ness. One translation says a dream comes when there are many cares. Again, that is not saying all dreams come due to a frazzled state of mind. Maybe some do. I am not denying that. One series of dreams I had prepared me for the eventual death of someone who was very close to me. That whole period/episode of my life means a lot to me because I can affirm within myself that God was showing me love, even as a non-believer. It was because of allowing God a place in what transpired that I was able to grieve and move through the loss with so much grace, much more grace than I normally have in my life around loss. God gave and God took away, but the lesson learned was that I was as deserving of being loved as anybody else, regardless of the mistakes of my past.

You are mistaken on this. I have had dreams where they came true. for instance a friend of mine at the time was making it difficult to follow God correctly and coincidentally (even though I don't believe in such a thing) he didn't want to be friends anymore and in all honesty I was relieved and glad but then that very night I had a dream that he and I were friends again and were laughing and such. I have seen it happen enough times where I dream of something and it happens to know not to discount such a dream but in all honesty I said to God I don't want to be friends with him anymore but surely enough two months later we were friends again.

Even now he and I are once again not friends but recently I had a dream where he and I were laughing and having fun so just from experience I do not discount this dream just yet, God has on more than one occasion done this showing me something that will happen and it does, he even once when I lost my favorite book of scriptures because my sister had raided my room and took many things and she likes to hide gave me a dream of the exact location of the book and I didn't really think it would be there but when I looked it was there in that specific location

Some time dream is like prophecy.

I don't know whether from the Lord or devil, both of them able to do prophecy. If it from the Lord always accurate if it from the devil some time accurate some time wrong.

About 30 years ago i had a dream. I saw my mom die. then my friend brother die of car accident.


few months after the dream, My friend brother die of car accident like what in my dream.

It scare me. It remind of my dream. I am worry about my mom.

about 2 or 3 months later/ after my friend brother die, My mom die

I don't know if it from the lord or something else, but yes some time dream is like prophecy.
