Good happy morning everyone!!

I think deep down we all want to love correctly as Jesus loves others. This morning I awoke with an interesting acronym instantly on my mind:

GAVE (Jesus GAVE His life for our salvation)

G- Give to others
A- Associate to others (sympathize/empathize in their struggles)
V- Verify with scripture/prayer
E- EVERYTHING glory to God (everything you do for God, everything is God's, everything we have is God's)

Lately the scripture 'God is Love' is confusing our culture.

1 JOHN 4:8 (Read all Chapter 4)
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

IMPORTANT scripture previous to 'God is love' is being missed...

1 JOHN 3:16 (Read all Chapter 3)
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for our brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.

So LOVE is an ACTION WORD; not a feeling/emotional word. Take for example:

Love thy neighbour (feeling): I like them, they are good people.
* Love thy neighbour (action): You bring them muffins, help dig their garden, help mow their lawn, take care of their children.

This can be utilized in every aspect of life; with your family, friends, co-workers, church, communities...etc.

The act of giving may not be returned; you might plant seeds of good, but you have to give selflessly. Thus becoming more like Jesus; giving love (action word) sacrifically.

Hope this helps!? I know I personally have to work on this!! :)

Many blessings!! Xoo

I wonder if there are people who have never loved. It certainly seems to be comprised of much more than our culture often portrays. Experiencing the love of God is a very profound experience... one I would wish on every living soul.

Yay this was my prayer last night, for God to teach me how exactly to love the way that He did. I was listening to this podcast last night called "As I have loved you". In my case though, I noticed I'm being hit by religion everytime. Thinking about how Jesus loved us and then realising I've fallen short in loving others, sometimes I feel condemned but it still goes back to love cause when I go back to Jesus, His Cross remains alive. So I am still loved even if I failed to love others as much as I should. Religion so easily steals the joy and peace Jesus died to give us. But Jesus so easily restores it just with the knowledge and faith in His finished work.

Jesus told us that the first step in fulfiling the greatest/first of all commandments...(to love the Lord our God with all the heart, soul, might (mind and strength)... is to hear, O Israel. Luke 10:38-42 speaks of hearing The Word of God as the one needful thing...even to love correctly.

Jesus also said that the second is like the first...which is to love your neighbor as yourself.
Jesus also said that no greater love has any man than to lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus also said that if we have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren...we've done it unto Him.

I do believe a good stradegy for helping each other to love is to first of all learn and understand the love of God through hearing The Word of God (which also glorifies God...cause we're going to Him for advice...for one example). When we approve of the example of love given to us (and there is only one example through many), then we can add to our faith through recieving from God.

I believe the more like Jesus we are...the easier we are to love (from a Christian perspective)...and the easier it is for someone to see The Lord in us...and the easier it is for us to do unto the least of these what we would for Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We are all equal based upon the truth that to whosoever much is given shall much be required, and to whosoever is given little shall less be required.

So....the more we examine ourselves, and the more we recognize the sin in our flesh, hate it, get rid of it, and continually add The Word of God to our experience...then the easier it is for others to love God. I believe this is a good example of loving others as yourself.

1 Corinthians 12:21-23King James Version (KJV)[SUP]21 [/SUP]And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

THREE TYPES OF LOVE FOUND IN THE BIBLE

Philos Love

This is a unique kind of love like the one you have for a companion or pal. It refers to loving one another just like your brother or sister. This love is for a pal who is really close and dear to us and it is characterized by various different shared experiences between two people. In fact this is the kind of love that many Christians tend to practice towards one another. And although philos love is really wonderful, it is not that much reliable, since it can end up souring at times as we have all experienced at some point in our lives.

Agape Love

This is a special term which represents the divine-love of the Lord towards his Son Jesus Christ, the human beings and all believers. This is the best of the three types of love in the bible, in fact Jesus himself showed this type of divine love to his Dad in heaven and humanity. Agape love is the love that God commanded all believers to have for everyone whether he/she is a believer or not. Agape love should never be determined by our feelings; it is more of a set of behaviors or actions. With agape, you do not have to actually feel it for you to give it, which means that you can be able to show love without feeling anything at all. At times feelings can follow after showing this kind of love.

Eros

Eros is a Greek term which actually means desire and longing. And according to the Greek methodology, Eros is the name of the Greek god of love. Also referred to as erotic love, this is a selfish kind of love as it associated with sexual love. Eros love is based on the strong feeling we have against one another and it usually develops during the 1st stage of a romantic relationship. This kind of love is based on the physical traits. And unless it is redeemed by the Lord’s presence; this type of love can end up being possessive, since it always seeks to 1st conquer and then control.
God created physical attraction between a man & a woman, but He never intended for it to be selfish. He created desire and longing which makes up sexual love which is crucial in any marriage. This love was meant to be preserved between a couple and it is essential for any health marriage. And since it is mostly based on self-benefit, many people tend to fall out of love if they are not happy with the marriage.
