Did any of His disciples follow suit? Do we have the authority to do that?....or would we get thrown in jail? I say...put your money where your mouth is then and show up at Joyce's church and get er done or stop whining about it. I'm really not trying to be combative. Just offering my perspective on the difference between talking about it and actually doing something like Jesus did.
Notice how Christ after He scolded them He didn't go in the back with them and sit and tell them how serious He was about them not doing it. No He expected them to obey Him and if they didn't they would have no excuse if He had to punish them as their creator. We must realize that too and know His will for us completely.

When Adam sinned and fell, everything about creation fell. Yet, people today are still putting their trust in creation. For example, they try to become healthy by eating what is called the “Eden diet”—vegetables and no meat. They are acting as if creation did not fall. They also forget that there are people who eat well and exercise regularly, and still drop dead in the prime of their lives!
Thank God that what creation cannot do, redemption can and did. Jesus demonstrated this when He spat on the ground, made clay with the saliva and put it on a blind man’s eyes. (John 9:6–7) Now, it is certainly unusual to put clay on a blind man’s eyes because he would become doubly blind!
So why did Jesus do that?
He was demonstrating to us that all our body parts come from the ground and that because creation is fallen, the work of creation cannot open a blind man’s eyes. But the work of redemption can! That is why He sent the blind man to the pool of Siloam. The word “Siloam” means “Sent”, referring to the sent one, Jesus. When the blind man washed his eyes in the pool of the sent one, he received supernatural healing for his eyes.
Beloved, when we go to Jesus, the sent one who came to redeem us with the price of His blood, and we rest in His finished work, we will receive the miracle we need. If we believe that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), we will have greater health than those who trust in creation.
Jesus was sent to redeem us from every curse that came upon creation with the fall of Adam. (Galatians 3:13) He has redeemed us from sickness, pain, sorrow, depression, poverty and even death. The world may know Him as the Creator. But today, we know Him as our Redeemer. Where the work of creation cannot save us, His work of redemption can and has!

Some people can not believe that a Christian can be in the center of a war and not get shot. You cannot believe that God would deliver you when He didn't deliver others.
This is the whole knub of the problem. When people are fighting a war, people die. Is there a reason why a member of the kingdom should not die, while another should? Should all believers walk like bullet proof super men into battle, always winning because God delivers for them?

Now with Israel, when they listened to God, followed his guidance, as a nation this happened, but with casualties. Ofcourse we want our time to die to be put off, to continue and everything turn out nice. But this does not necessarily happen. The Lord delivers to His will, and some will die, and some will suffer, and some in grace will be met.

The problem is when christians call it evil, to accept without the Lords intervention, we live in the same environment as everyone else, and need to accept the ups and downs. We follow the Lord because we believe in love, which despite hardship reaches out and helps. Jesus accepted his limitations and submitted to death. We likewise in our walk with others submit to the normality of life.

Evil is the sin people do, not the limitations of existence, health and wealth. It is foolish to bind spirituality to these two concepts, because we all die, we all get ill, and we all have times of wealth and times of hardship.

It is much, much harder to be spiritual with wealth than without. It is why the most spiritual people often abandon any trappings of wealth and search for the heart of the Lord in solitude. But these preachers would have you believe the most lavish and self indulgent know the heart of God best. That is satan and his gospel, a gospel of flattery and success, where there are no problems, only more reward and indulgence, to the point you die and loose everything.

What made Jesus and Elijah stand out from the crowd? When they spoke it happened.

Yes, if we could speak and see in faith like they did, with the Lords word on our hearts, we would walk like they did.

So many have claimed they just need to reach out and walk. And yes the Lord does answer, but only occasionally do miracles like this take place.

The way people talk it is walk into a hospital and the healed all walk out.
Thinking of saying wealth blessing proves spiritual authority. The oil rich nations are rolling in money, so they are the true blessed of God by this idea, we should all be muslims.

One muslim authority around 1000 ad had a dispute with another group. He executed the opposition and said that is Gods will, because they were dead and he was alive. This is the spirit of this way of thinking and being.

Some groups have even produced guidance which even proposed Muhammed was just another way of finding God.
My answer is, this is how superficial is their understanding of the living God.

And why have peoples hearts shifted? One healing or one thing, that turned unbelief into belief, even though it was just one thing, everything must now be different. That is pure deception.

And your answer will be, to accept my words is to loose faith and then therefore nothing will happen.
So I leave you with the warning, this is the way of the flesh and not spirituality based on the idea miracles lead to faith, rather than conviction of sin leads to faith and miracles are a sign of the authority of the speaker.

Found this in my reading this morning and it says similarly the same thing my previous posts say. Believe what God says and be blessed. Follow Him and have peace. Expect Him to come through, He always will. Amen

When I was a young Christian, I attended a seminar on what we must do to “work the works of God”. I was told that we had to pray more, fast more, know our enemy and so on. I came away from the seminar confused. Then one day, I found the same question in the Bible. But the answer was very different!
In the Gospel of John, we find Jesus being asked the same question by the multitude who had been awed by His miracles—“What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” The people had seen Jesus healing the sick, and feeding 5,000 men with only five loaves and two fish.
Notice how Jesus answered them: “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” My friend, the greatest doing is believing—believing in Jesus the sent one, who has done it all for you at the cross!
If you are asking, “What must I do to receive my healing?” the answer is this: Believe in Jesus, who “Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses”. (Matthew 8:17) We have seen members of our church delivered from life-threatening conditions such as cancer and kidney failure. They had simply believed that Jesus bore their diseases on His own body. There was nothing for them to do, except to believe.
When the jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30–31) The greatest miracle in your life happens not by you working and trying to save yourself, but by you simply believing in Jesus who died to save you from eternal damnation and to give you eternal life. Why then, should the lesser miracles of healing or financial breakthroughs be any different?
Beloved, what is the miracle you need today? There is nothing left for you to do, but everything for you to believe, because Jesus has done it all for you!
Thought For The Day

The greatest doing is believing—believing in Jesus the sent one, who has done it all for you!

Each person has to come to a place in life where it doesn't matter what anyone else says about their relationship and walk with Jesus. When you have been through the fire with Jesus and came out with Him alive and still breathing because He was there and for no other reason. When that happens you know He is there in this life with you. And you live like it in spite of all human logic. Some believers will totally get what you are saying while others have nothing but questions of doubt of why it couldn't be what you profess.

I only skimmed through some of the words that were written here by some of you men and saw the word witchcraft came up.
So trusting Jesus to take care of us in the face of all human reasoning and logic is witchcraft someone said? . Some people can not believe that a Christian can be in the center of a war and not get shot. You cannot believe that God would deliver you when He didn't deliver others.

I have learned I must take God at His word before I walk it out in life. Read Psalm 91 and walked it out and although it goes against all human reason because a thousand may fall at your side and 10 thousand at your right hand; but it shall not approach you, you only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the Lord my refuge, Even the Most High your dwelling place. No evil will befall you Nor will any plague come near your tent.

It never occurs to some that we come into this world alone and naked and when we die we will die the same way. But the difference for the believer is we know He was aware of us and with us from the start and through to the end. No one else can answer for our lives and what we did and what we believe but us. So your walk with Jesus is yours alone. And for me, I take it Jesus and me. So when other people are going through joys or sorrows, I can't compare myself to them. I'm admonished not to judge life according to how others live their lives or by what has happened to them. I'm told to keep my eyes on Jesus. He is faithful.

Some say....how come that one died and he was innocent and that one stayed alive and he was guilty? It must mean God is not involved and we are all subject to the elements all the same as any other human on earth. So many believers build their lives around trusting God only for the after life, not for today in the here and now. It's the ONLY thing that makes sense to their human reason as to why God didn't come through. Even when the Bible is clear He will take care of us now., and He will show us above and beyond what we can even ask or think. But He requires something that in our humaness we can't give apart from supernatural faith. That is why even faith the size of a mustard seed is amazing.

FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES HERE ON EARTH as Christians, we will be confronted with contradictions about God. We will see horrible things and horrible suffering. We will see sin in action and how evil will grow bitter and rotten fruit. It will be all around us but in spite of that, we have God's promises when we trust Him it will not come neigh unto us. We will walk and not be weary we will run and not faint. If we are looking to Him and refuse to look around us and take the world (into) us above our faith in Him, we WILL see amazing things our God will do.

We will experience the world too but faith in Him and what Jesus did on the cross to defeat the enemy will get us through so that it will not over take us. We are admonished as we go through trials to trust Him to get us through to the other side. I know the evil does not come from God but God will take the experiences before us and use them for our learning. The devil is the one who comes to kill., steel and destroy... not God. Jesus came that we might have life and that more abundantly. Faith is needed here on earth.,, we are not exhorted to have faith when we get to heaven., we are not going to need it there. Its NOW we need to walk by faith and not by sight.

Another one of the difficult things we will be learning is not to look at other believers and COMPARE our lives with theirs. Why did you bless them and not me Lord?? Or.. Why did they die and not me Lord?? Why have you allowed this most wonderful brother to die and he loved you more than I do or ever could., why Lord?? Why did you allow that innocent child who is so pure die and me who is unworthy stay alive Lord? Times like this we are CONSTANTLY CALLED to look to Jesus and know WE ARE NOT PRIVY to all He is privy too because He is God and we are not God. We do not have all the answers and we are not called to have the answers. But what we are called to is to trust Him irregardless of what we see around us.

That is my answer to you guys about why this this way or why that is that way. God delivered me from many storms and floods in my life. I count Him totally faithful and have made it my goal to keep looking at Him when all around me is falling apart. I have seen Him do amazing things already. He has shown Himself to be worthy of Praise and glory and honor. He deserves my trust. Let God be God., and every man a liar. That means to me even wonderful amazing good people and the beauty of the earth and even a good name, all on earth will not last and endure. But God always will and I'm in Him and He is in me. He will abide forever and my hope has got to be in Him and nothing else. Trust in the Lord with all your heart AND LEAN NOT TO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING...IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

He calls each of us to believe this way. He doesn't love one of us more than the other. One of Jesus disciples John., was called the one that Jesus loved. Jesus didn't love John more., John believed Jesus loved him and lived his life out that way. John ended up taking care of Jesus mother. Jesus love was real to him so much so he lived his life out in that truth. Believing Jesus loves you is the beginning of seeing Him show through in your life.

All of these issues have one continual theme., Jesus loves you. That little song we learn in Sunday School kind of says it better than long posts "Jesus Loves Me" this I know., for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong., they are weak but He is strong., yes Jesus loves me., Yes Jesus loves me., Yes Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so.

TV preachers: lovers of cash for 40 years now: not all, but many into embezzlement, adultery, homo perversion, and bowing the knee to the pope and the one world church. Run from modern Christendom. Flee and don't look back. Cling to Christ.

What were their actual blessings?, one we can only interpret or guess about the other is clearly seen. Is this not secular materialism in a largely secular materialistic world in which we all live or have lived?, why are some blessed with great material riches and yet others struggle on low income? what should anyone store up for themselves, the overiding spirit of this world is a very selfish one in many many ways and causes division and jealousy-and hatred can be born from that. It could be problematic from a Christian point of view or anyone taking note.

Joyce Meyer

Meyer, who owns several homes and travels in a private jet has been criticized by some of her peers for living an excessive lifestyle. She responded that she doesn't have to defend her spending habits because "...there's no need for us to apologize for being blessed."Meyer commented, "You can be a businessman here in St. Louis, and people think the more you have, the more wonderful it is...but if you’re a preacher, then all of a sudden it becomes a problem."

[h=3]James 4:4[/h] Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.
[h=3]1 John 2:15-17[/h] Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because everything in the world--the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one's means of life--does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.

Mark 10:21

Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

we are talking about preachers. thse that you listed are all kings with the exception of Abraham which couold be debated.
ie - Solomon was blessed with possessions, his priest was Samuel, he slept on the floor in the temple and it was an HONER for him to do it. the only priest i know that that made i bit better life for himself off the priesthood was Ely, our Lord destroyed his entire house.
the Almighty Himself blessed these kings, the preachers we are talking about are asking their followers to bless them
what does Jesus say about a rich man going to heaven, what about storing up possessions?

What staggers me is how wealth distorts peoples self perception. With money you can choose to do what you like, as long as someone else can deliver it for you.

But the key question with life, is what do you really want? Most end up developing hobbies, interests, social contacts, families, pursuing politics or social work, charities. And what do people discover? It is not wealth that defines whether you can do these things but your passion, your belief and your energy. And the people who block you most?

It is those who because of wealth feel they understand or actually achieve anything by just holding power in their hands.
Around where I live the most stupid people are those driving 4x4 in a city, unable to see pedestrians who dare to walk from one place to another.

So what is most important? Learning the value of life, what you can do and other people or aquiring wealth and power? And what is the one issue that stops us from meeting and facing these realities? Wealth.

What does Jesus want us to have? A better grasp of reality and life or wealth? I will let you decide, but if wealth is your choice I doubt to you have met Jesus or he lives properly in your heart.

You would probably have read this verse before, but would you like to know how to apply it in your everyday life? Let me give you an illustration to help you.
Let’s say that you are one of those in your company eligible for a promotion and you will know tomorrow whether you get it. You want the promotion badly because it means more income for your family. So you lie in bed at night tossing and turning. You pray, “Father, please take away all my worries about this promotion. Give me faith.” One hour later, you are more anxious than ever. It seems like God is not answering your prayer!
How come? Because you are not doing it God’s way.
Pray like this instead: “Father, I cast all my worries about the promotion into Your loving hands because You care for me and love me.” The Bible tells us to cast all our cares upon the Lord for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7) Then, say, “Father, I would like to have the promotion.” It is okay to ask Him for that. Now, here comes the most powerful part—thanksgiving. Finish off with thanksgiving. Thank God for His faithfulness.
Say something like, “Father, whether I get the promotion or not, I thank You that You will always provide for my family with more than enough. You who feed the birds of the air and clothe the lilies of the field will take care of us. So I am not going to worry about this promotion. You are the source of all my blessings.” (Matthew 6:30, Philippians 4:19)
When you pray like this, all of a sudden, you are no longer held hostage by the promotion. I call this the “thank You” therapy. The more you know God’s Word, the more you can thank Him. The more you thank Him, the more His peace reigns in your heart. And many a time, before you know it, it is morning! You don’t even remember falling asleep. The peace of God reigns like that.
My friend, whatever your concern is, bring it to your Father in prayer and thank your way to peace!

Amen!

I'm so glad I saw this.

I joined the site exactly a week ago (Happy 1 week anniversary to me!)

The other day I was in the chatroom. I brought up Joyce Meyer and a debate started. I told the users in the room that I was not interested in gossiping about someone that cannot defend themselves. I don't feel it is right. I left the chatroom as it didn't stop and joined when I figured the gossiping would be over and it was.

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
Luke 6:37

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."

If you send money to the rich TV preachers you are sinning. If you are tithing to the pastor, you are sinning.
Proverbs 22:16 he (TV preachers/pastors) that oppress the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich shall surely come to want.

'Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait Yet!! Are you saying that tithing is a sin?' Yep! We are to help the poor and the traveling ministers ONLY, with free will offerings, not under law! News flash: I get this from the word of God.

This is an excellent link on youtube for you to listen to. I would like to even put it to you as a challenge and even an as an "I dare ya" to listen to this. Very well done. Lancelot put it up tonight and it was so good I'm hoping many mis informed about Word of Faith doctrine will listen and be a bit educated.
Blessings.
