I have been guilty of it too. For that I was very disappointed in myself. BUT, I will not stop upholding the truth. I will go about it in a non personal ,factual only pursuit! Im trying very hard to be kind.

There is a vast difference in exposing error and spreading gossip. We all need to stick to facts and not gloss over truth saying it is gossiping. Sister you need to do some research. I think you will see that she is spreading damnable false doctrine

yeah...sometimes what one person thinks is truth is actually the absence of it

you might put the flamethrower away though....you could be in danger of backdraft

In the video it says it was actually a dresser and not a toilet, and there was a mistake on the price turned in as it was said to have been around $2,300 and not $23,000.

Still that is a lot even for a dresser or a toilet either one as I can go right now and buy a new dresser and new toilet both that work just fine for less then then $200 dollars together today.

Why living beyond what we need is defended now days makes no since to me when the bible does warn against such things as it tells us not to build up treasures on earth (material possessions), but to build up treasures in heaven instead by doing for others in the love of God.
The focus shouldnt be on a toilet she bought or anything else she bought right? That is only a result of her identity
KennethC I think this whole thread is absolutely ridiculous. We need to be focusing on Joyce Meyers straying from the truth of Christ' gospel.

Our souls thrive on the nourishment from the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. People from all over the world come onto this site and the Lord feeds their spirits with His truth and grace through our posts. Anyone, Christian and non-Christian alike can read a post and either see the Lord or see our flesh (ego, vanity, bitterness, anger, etc). There is no denying that a post is either bringing life to someone or death.

I disagree with that. Yes, we are to teach and exhort others to be a blessing to those less fortunate but we and not called to examine every purchase someone makes and judge if they should have spent less so they could give more.

I just bought a $2000 shotgun. For some that would sound like too much money to spend on that. They would say I could have had something that would shoot just as well for $500 and given the rest to the poor. They would only look at that one purchase and never take into consideration what I gave last year to the church, or that I gave away another nice gun to someone who couldn't afford one and I gave a car to someone who needed one.

Sure we should exhort people to follow the gospel, but we need to leave the specific judging up to God. You can't judge someone's lifestyle because the standard by which you judge is only for yourself. All we see is an amount and that amount is either high or low depending on our own lifestyle and your own standard. God doesn't even consider the amount. All that is important to him is what that amount meant to you. Look at the widow who gave less than the rest by their estimation yet gave more than the rest by Jesus's estimation.

You might see someone driving a $100,000 car and say they could have bought a car for $20,000 and gave $80,000 away. You only judge that by what you say you would do, but do you drive a $3000 car and give away $10,000? I don't think you do. You only judge by what you consider excessive for you. Did that rich man give away 10% and did you also? If that is the case then you both gave the same, no matter how much was left over, or what kind of car that was bought.

I would be willing to bet that if you who criticize knew the percentages, you would find that these evil televangelists gave a greater percentage of both their money and time into the gospel than you do. All you see though is that they have more than you ,and so you judge they must be thieves and charlatans. Be careful of the judgment with which you judge. The same shall be measured back to you.

Im sorry but you will be judged for defending wolves. You need to be very careful for walking alongside them is the wide broad road.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

You just spent a lot of words posting judgment at another by making false allegations on me that you do not know about.

The Word of God is straight forward about the snare of falling into rich and lavish lifestyles and how it will draw some away from the truth. You can continue to deny and overlook those warnings and not test these people on what they teach and continue to defend them instead as that is on you and not me.

I will continue to test them as the word of God says we are allowed and suppose to do !!!

Also there is a difference in wrongful judgment which would consist of condemning a person, but there is righteous judgment that we are allowed to do which is pointing out the sinful behavior of others and false teaching and show how to correct it and the truth stated in God's word.

Also you are not trying to use against me the same exact debate I brought to you before about the rich man and the woman in poverty.

The rich man gave out of obligation and the poor widow gave everything she had because of her love and trust in the Lord our God.

To say we can not point out others sinful behavior to others and then show the truth in God's word is wrong as Jesus and Apostle Paul show examples that we can. Paul even tells us to shun people from the church if they refuse to give up sinful lifestyles, and not to associate with them.

So you can continue to say we can't but I will go with God's word that shows we can !!!
Kenneth, I should have said that only the first two paragraphs I posted were directed toward you. The rest was for anyone in judgment of another.

I still disagree that you or anyone else is allowed to publically criticize someone else. That's not what scripture teaches. If you think someone is in the wrong, you are to go to them and plead your case. You are not to publically condemn anyone about something that you think you know.

Speaking truth can only bring life. There is certainly no vanity in upholding the truth in the gospel of Christ. This thread was stupid to begin with. The focus should be on her words that are NOT TRUTH. Im not going to argue about her toilet but I will use this thread as an opportunity to post her heresy. She has gone by the wayside sister. Many who were once biblical have gone astray teaching damnable doctrine. We are in the laodecian age. Many have fallen away and many follow. WOF/prosperity/emergent/post modernism/gnostisism/works righteousness/ etc. It should all be rebuked and exposed.

Some have the backbone to do it and some dont. Some have been given boldness to carry out what others could not handle. We dont pussyfoot around with evil. We deal with it as Christ and his apostles did. The sword cuts, it doesnt tickle

And no,non christians cannot discern between flesh and spirit. The word says they are blind sister.

I dont always sound as if I am about to explode. That was a false generalization. Havent you learned the basics of discussing? You dont place false labels on people The number one thing to NOT DO when reasoning something out is make generalizations? It was a false statement sister. I am simply stating facts. If you want to perceive it as such;that is on you. It may say something about your demeaner...idk....I wont stretch in saying so.

I am calm as a cucumber. I stand on the truth!

My target is evil.

If you are reborn again in Christ we are related. Are you falsely accusing me of something? I dont have a beef with you. I am not going to cut at you and mock you either.

Go in peace. May Gods grace abide

If non-Christians could not discern Jesus, they would never come to salvation. Of course they can see Jesus! They may not know Him intimately (therefore spiritually blind), but they see Him in His people. I came to the Lord because I saw the Lord alive in my neighbor and asked her to please introduce me to Him so I could know Him personally.

This is Joyce Meyer's Statement of Faith.

~[h=1]What We Believe[/h][h=2]Statement of Faith[/h]
The Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and contains every answer to man's problems.

2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21

There is one God, existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

John 10:30; John 14:26; Philippians 2:5-7

God is Love and He loves all people. It is His desire to reach out to those who are poor, oppressed, widowed or orphaned, and to heal the brokenhearted.

Psalm 68:5,6; 1 John 4:16

Man is created in the image of God but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus we cannot have a relationship with God.

Genesis 1:26; 1 Timothy 2:5

We can have a personal relationship with God through salvation, God's free gift to man. It is not a result of what we do, but it is only available through God's unearned favor. By admitting we have sinned and believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God.

Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 5:1; Romans 3:24

We believe in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He helps empower the believer to develop the character of Christ and live every day in God's will.

Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:4

God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God's people (the Church) and proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10

Sanctification is the ongoing process of allowing God's character to be developed in us.

Romans 6:19; Galatians 5:22-25

Divine healing is active in the lives of people today through Jesus, who is the Healer. Healing includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration.

Luke 9:11; Matthew 9:35; Acts 10:38; Matthew 10:1

The Bible describes hell as a real place. It is a place of suffering and a place of permanent separation from God for those who die without accepting Christ. God's desire is that no one be separated from Him for eternity, which is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.

Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:12-15; John 3:16-18

Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to be with Him for eternity.

Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:28

http://www.joycemeyer.org/AboutUs/WhatWeBelieve.aspx

So what part of her faith do you disagree with? Are you people who are against her claim she is not a Christian? I don't listen to Joyce but if she believes what her statement of faith suggests then by all means she is a Christian.

I wasnt speaking in that regard. I was referring to the indwelling spirit. eyes to see ya know?
The lost cannot discern between flesh and spirit!!! They recognize kindness and love but the truth is revealed through the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately with writing its hard to bestow tonality. I think CS1 just made that point on another thread where you admitted to being facetious. Sarcasm is NOT from God. It may be time to step back and leave me alone? I told you I am not going to spar with you. I tried to let you know I am not exploding and I am not yelling. I dont know what else to say!!!
Im defending the truth.

I have the love of Christ in me to extend grace when I called you sister. The fact that you doubt that speaks to your lack of discernment. Ember, why did you come on this thread just to hammer me and be mean? Are you trying to hurt me? I dont even know you! I pray the Lord bless you and his grace to shine upon you. Amen
