That is how I feel...like I have been raped spiritually.
I joined CC with the hope of discussing and having fellowship with brothers ans sisters in Christ in order to fulfill a desire to learn and grow in the Lord.....but there is so much doctrine pushing and tearing ones belief down that over time this has begun to take its toll on me. Who are you people??...why do you take such delight in proving your point of view as being THE right way?? why do you insist on treating posters as enemies and not as a living, breathing soul like yourself?? do you even believe that we are people as well??

I find myself confused and question my understanding of some scriptures. I had the confidence to approach The Throne of God boldly before joining here but that has changed so much that at times I don't even know what to pray for.

My conclusion is that there is a spirit that is not of God operating with freedom right here in these chat rooms and everyone embraces it with open arms....LORD HELP US IN JESUS NAME i pray.

Maybe I'm just going through a very tough time tight now but my God seems so far away that I want to leave everything and just be with Him...

The fact that we become confused suggests to me that we are growing. Life is a challenge.

I thought I had everything figured out a couple of years ago, but I’ve had my own turmoil since. It’s not that I am in a lot of spiritual pain, but there seems to be a lot to learn, still.

We're all sinful, and perhaps being callous to one another over the internet is a sin we need to pray fro deliverance from.

This is partially why I don't discuss religion online all that often. Truth be told, I pop on here if I'm trying to slack off or something, and it is a fun place. Lol, so that's another sin of mine, my terrible work ethic at times :p

If we spend seventy years on this earth, I imagine the Lord expects us to put the time to good use. We will spend those seventy years learning. It will always be a challenge, though one might hope the really difficult stuff is learned at an earlier age.

I think it is good to testify openly, freely, politely, truthfully, and completely to each other. We learn from each other. We have to be wise enough to take everything we hear with the proper grain of salt.

Me too greybeard, although I personally when I think of you & see the soul who is portrayed in these posts see someone who I relate to alot, So I truly do hope that I havent caused you pain. I need you to know that last year someone took me to task in what I accept and view as ok in my worldly views. This truly did offend me at the time & sent me in great turmoil. These are the times when i reflect in and say, why have i reacted like this? Mostly it was because I fell short and I knew it. In the last year I've grown greatly in my knowledge of the Lord because I was taken to task on my lack of knowledge in the Lord. Still I know nothing!! So this I say to you with the love of your sister in Christ what is the Lords position on it? I know that one of the ones who took me to task is in fact a person I go to for sound biblical advise now and is a dear cherished friend. Perhaps we are all friends in debate but ultimately one to one you can bet most on here only have the best interest of the others at heart. (oh & being right, thats kinda important too hence the i'm right thread!) Anyway I just want to encourage you & build you up in the Lord who is faithful who loves you and who knows your heart. Not one of us are perfect & I truly hope I havent caused you discouragement in my imperfection.

If we were all the same we wouldn't grow, none of us have all the answers. I don't believe any denomination does either.

I know what you mean. i joined for the same reasons as you. I needed guidance at a low point in my life, and my neighbor invited me in and talked about this person, I didn't know what she was on about until she whispered the words Jesus into my my ear.

I just want to say that televangelists give us Christians a bad name. All I see them do is sell sell sell bad products in the hope of making money. Christianity to me is about love, compassion and a desire to learn the truth about the lord. I have not finished reading the good book yet, but so far I'm in awe, it really is the answer to my life.

May the lord be with you.

Graybeard I know what you mean and I have felt like this before.

There is alot of trash on this site and you have to filter through it. There are people with ridiculous beliefs and doctrines. There are people with very strange and incorrect views of Christianity.

This is the problem with a site which allows anyone to join. I'm not saying it shouldn't be like this - its just the nature of the site.

However this site has alot of sincere Christians, and, just as in the world, they are often hard to find, and well worth it when you do!

Agree with sharp

and open site will have people with strong opinions, people who argue, and sadly also people who come only to argue
Try staying off the discussion forum a bit :) the rest of them usually aren't that heated

weed thru it my friend , you learn as you go who to listen to and who to just ignore.
after awhile i learned that it can become quite comical to read some of the *shove down your throat doctrinators** doubts thats even a word*.and yes at times it still gets frustrating BUT if and when it EVER inteferes with MY walk with God...cut it off. and hey there is a great feature here we have at cc, the good ole ignore button :).there are some wonderful people here one or two in particular that i think i would probably share anything with ,so try not to be too disheartened with the whole site , take what you can use and the rest, throw it out

There is evil spirits,I fought one after a post about who is Jesus. The spirit was false because it fails the test.
1st john 4;
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Jesus said; But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.and Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

One must believe the Son of God(Jesus) was made flesh throught emaculate conception.Lived on earth and was recieved into heaven to pass this test.
Love God,Love your nieghber like yourself,Honor your mother and father, stay away from idols

Love a friend in God

I can understand the way you feel, it's one of the reasons I am cautious in what topics I start and contribute too as there are negative elements here just like anywhere else and sometimes I read threads and I feel sad....it's tough to open a thread and see people trying to achieve some kind of dominance for their way of thinking without any real tolerance for other opinons.

I think it happens because it feels good to be right, and once a person reconciles their own view point with what is in the bible they suddenly feel the power of knowing they can't be wrong....these are the christians who have missed the point entirely and they are hard to have an open conversation with....my advice is don't try as you'll come away feeling worse for it.

Graybeard you are amazing, I Love you, and God Loves you! I just posted this on a similar thread and thought it would be helpful here too:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am going to spend some time writing to everyone about what a real Christian is:

John 13:35(NASB)(emphasis mine)
35"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

In the original Greek:
35ἐν τούτῳ γνώσονται πάντες ὅτι ἐμοὶ μαθηταί ἐστε ἐὰν ἀγάπην ἔχητε ἐν ἀλλήλοις

ἀγάπη = agapē (a form of the word agapaō)

John 13:34(NASB)(emphasis mine)
34"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

In the original Greek:
34ἐντολὴν καινὴν δίδωμι ὑμῖν ἵνα ἀγαπᾶτε ἀλλήλους καθὼς ἠγάπησα ὑμᾶς ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀγαπᾶτε ἀλλήλους

ἀγαπᾶτε = agapaō

Where else is this word for Love used in the Bible? Jesus uses this word as the word for His Love, and it is used 147 times in the Bible in the following verses:

Matthew 5:43,5:44,5:46,6:24,19:19,22:37,22:39
Mark 10:21,12:30,12:31,12:33
Luke 6:27,6:32,6:35,7:5,7:42,7:47,10:27,11:43,16:13
John 3:16,3:19,3:35,8:42,10:17,11:5,12:43,13:1,13:23,13 :34,14:15,14:21,14:23,14:24,14:28,
14:31,15:9,15:12,15:17,17:23,17:24,17:26,19:26,21: 7,21:15,21:16,21:20
Romans 8:28,8:37,9:13,9:25,13:8,13:9,
1 Corinthians 2:9,8:3,13:1,13:2,13:3,13:4,13:8,13:13
2 Corinthians 9:7,11:11,12:15
Galatians 2:20,5:14,
Ephesians 1;6,2:4,5:2,5:25,5:28,5:33,6:24
Colossians 3:12,3:19
1 Thessalonians 1:4,4:9
2 Thessalonians 2:13,2:16
2 Timothy 4:8,4:10
Hebrews 1:9,12:6
James 1:12,2:5,2:8
1 Peter 1:8,1:22,2:17,3:10
2 Peter 2:15
1 John 2:10,2:15,3:11,3:14,3:18,3:23,4:7,4:8,4:10,4:11,4: 12,4:19,4:20,4:21,5:1,5:2
2 John 1:1,1:5
3 John 1:1
Revelation 1:5,3:9,12:11,20:9

What is the bottom line? If you have taken the time to read even half of these verses, you will realize that Jesus expects us to Love each other with His Love, not the “Love” that we are capable of ourselves. So, what does this mean? If you aren’t willing to give your life and die for the person you are responding to in this thread and every brother and sister in Christ on this website, then you don’t truly know Jesus(1 John 4:7-12,1 John 3:10-11,1 John 3:23, 1 John 4:21, Eph 6:24, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8)
So in other words if we think we are in a place to correct others and are not loving each other in exactly the same way God Loves us, then we are deceived.

I know many of may be pulling your hair out right now, maybe even ready to stone me. But if you read the Bible in the original language, this is what it says. There is no way around this. If you are enraged or angry about this post, then there is probably pride in you, because you have relied on your knowledge of the Lord and your Love for your knowledge of the Lord, rather than Love for the Lord Himself. Most of the time this is due to attributing your righteousness to your knowledge of the Bible and of God.

If you are worried because of the standard Jesus set, about whether you are even capable of being a Christian, you are in a good place and need not worry if you are a good Christian:

Matthew 5:3(NASB)
3"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

James 4:6(NASB)(emphasis mine)
6But He gives a greater grace. Therefore {it} says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."

It is in this attitude of humility, realizing that you can’t take credit for even one inch of your walk or relationship with God(John 6:44, 1 John 4:19, Romans 12:3), that God grants us the Grace to walk with Him. When you walk in pride, God opposes you. But to those who are humble He grants His Grace, and His Holy Spirit gives His fruit to you(Galatians 5:22) to be able to Love and do as He commanded. It is by positioning your heart to allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in you, that you are even capable of Loving like God Loves.

Though it is true that those who have not intentionally, in their hearts, invited Jesus into their life as their Lord and Savior; have no atonement for their sin, you can also be deceived as a Christian and have your efforts mean nothing to God. And whether you are Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, or "Christian”, without actually knowing Jesus(evidenced by God’s Love in you for others), your efforts mean nothing.

John 13:35(NASB)
35"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

1 Corinthians 13:2(NASB)
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
