Disclaimer: This is not attempt to place anyone under law.

Let's go to Luke 10:25-26

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" 27 He answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Over the years I've had Christians tell me that "the law of Christ" is "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" This, they tell me, replaced the law of Ten Commandments that were given specifically to the Jews. So "the new law" commands us to love God and love our neighbors.

Does this sound accurate?

Did say that they weren't, I'm just looking for conformation to what I've been told.

Here's what I found on Wikipedia:

"NCT (New Covenant Theology) claims thatall Old Covenant laws have been fulfilled by Christ and are thus cancelled or abrogated in favor of the Law of Christ or New Covenant law."

Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_the_Old_Covenant
You know what laws exist for the Christian for when you break the ones that are written on your mind and placed on your heart you have heartfelt conviction of sin. So the real answer to your question is not in what others write, but the inner conviction of sin you have when you transgress. That tells you which specific laws are in place and which are not

For instance, if I eat pork, I don't have a conscience I am sinning by doing so, but if I bore false witness I would have a conscience I was doing wrong

Okay, but I can't find anything on pork in the Ten Commandments. So I don't think that's an issue.

I don't know why people focus on the ten commandments. It is not written in them you must forgive others, but if you don't forgive others your father in heaven will not forgive you. Therefore you could perfectly keep the ten commandments(if that were possible) and be sent to hell.

I think the best way to look at this is to recognized that what Christ says in Luke 10 is basically a re-statement of the 10 commandments.

How do you love God? By placing God above all other gods, by honoring the Sabbath, by keeping no idols, by not taking His name in vain. And how do you love others as yourself? By not stealing, lying, killing, etc.

So they are really one in the same.

Paul states, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Gal 5:14

Is this "the law of Christ"?

Mark12: 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" 29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." 32 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

Again, is love God and love your neighbor as yourself the law of Christ?

James 1:25 But He who looks carefully into the faultless law, the law of (liberty), and is faithful to it to perserveres in looking inti it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer(who obeys), he shall be blessed in his doing.(his life 0f obedience)

James 2 :8-12 If indeed you (really) fulfill the royal Law in accordance with the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as ( you love) yourself, you do well. (Lev. 19:18)
But if you show servile regard for people, you commit sin and are rebuked and convicted by the law as violators and offenders.
For whosoever keeps the Law whole but stumbles and offends in one has become guilty of (breaking) allof it.
For He who said, You Shall no commit adultery, also said You shall not kill. If you do not commit adultery but do kill, you have become guilty of trangressing the whole Law. (Exodus. 20:13,14;Deut.5:17,18.
12) So Speak and so act as who are to be judged under the lawof liberty( the moral instructiongiven by Christ, especially about love).

James 4:11
My Brethren, do not speak evil about or accuse one another. He that maligns a brother or judges his brother is maligning and criticizing the Law and Judging The Law. But if you judge , you are not a practicer of the Law but a censor and judge (of it).

The "new" commandment is this;

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." John 15:12

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love." John 15:9

Is not this statement missleading?
The law has not be replaced, justification of the believer has changed.
The believer was justified by becoming a Jew and having faith in God following the law.
The believer now is justified by believing in Jesus and obeying Jesus's commands. Jesus's commands are the fulfillment of the law, with new birth and sanctification bringing the Kingdom of heaven to earth in the hearts of believers.

The best I can say is the laws focus has moved, so its preservation of society and making out sin is no longer applicable. It was limited to Israel and the physical possession of the land of Judea. The principles still remain, but it role has changed.
Take the laws about fungus and molds. This is a health issue, and very helpful, but we now have better and other methods.
But that does not make it sin to deal with things also.

Mixing threads, cotton and wool banned.

My family have ecema. Any oil from wool irritates the skin. It could well be if everything holds both threads then those with sensitivities have no alternatives. In immune system terms, it could be exposure to all the mixed clothing guarantees an immune response, which maybe why we are having an immune response epidemic now. May putting everything everywhere brings too much exposure to the immune system in one go.

If this is the cause, it would explain why today this problem is growing, as we now have such mixed clothing everywhere.

We died to the Law in Christ's death, we are raised to NEW LIFE in His resurrection via the new birth.
Our new nature desires God's ways and should live as a reflection of the law of love.
We are not saved by any law any more than we are saved by our new nature.

We are saved by Christ and Him alone.

The truth is that the law of Christ includes the 10 commandments, because the 10 commandments are laws of love, moral laws. All laws that are laws of love, moral laws, are what we go by in the New Testament, except the physical sabbath, which became a spiritual sabbath by the Spirit, which God said, that this is the rest whereby the weary may rest, but they would not hear(Isaiah 28:9-11).

Love God with all your heart and Love your neighbor as yourself is a paraphrase of the whole Law given in the OT.

There is no difference between the two. Just the OT goes into more detail...

I suppose the sad thing is that 'most' christians don't know this. And they 'accidently' place each other back under a law that they can't perform.

The awesome thing about the Lord Jesus Christ is that the more we abide in Him and the more we focus on Him and His Work the more we are changed to be like Him.

The law, in any of its forms can't do this. All it can do is show your sin, your lack of measuring up to the perfect standard. We just don't have the focus or the attention span or the will power to perfectly walk according to what the law tells us to do.
