Hi folks I know it's not Christmas yet, it's not even December. But a
reading this morning has made me think of the light of the world
a bit early and I would love to know your thoughts on this subject
generally.

2 Corinthians 4:6-9 AMP
[6] For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone
in our hearts so as to beam forth the Light for the illumination of
the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God as it is manifest
in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
[7] However, we possess this precious treasure the divine Light
of the Gospel in frail, human vessels of earth, that the grandeur and
exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and
not from ourselves. [8] We are hedged in (pressed) on every side
troubled and oppressed in every way, but not cramped or crushed;
we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find
a way out, but not driven to despair; [9] We are pursued (persecuted
and hard driven), but not deserted to stand alone; we are struck down
to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed;

Genesis 1:2-4 NKJV
[2] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face
of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
[3] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. [4] And God
saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

Isaiah 9:2 AMP
[2] The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who
dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them
has the Light shined.

Luke 1:76-79 AMP
[76] And you, little one, shall be called a prophet of the Most High; for you
shall go on before the face of the Lord to make ready His ways,
[77] To bring and give the knowledge of salvation to His people in the
forgiveness and remission of their sins. [78] Because of and through the
heart of tender mercy and loving-kindness of our God, a Light from on
high will dawn upon us and visit us [79] To shine upon and give light
to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and
guide our feet in a straight line into the way of peace.

Wow I never noticed this before but maybe when God said "Let there be
light" in Genesis, it was a foretaste of what was to come when God incarnate,
in the form of Jesus brought light into the hearts of men.

Its amazing to think that the light used to bring day time to a dark earth
in Genesis, is the same light which brings spiritual light into our lives. What
power we have living on the inside of us! The light of creation itself, Wow!

Years ago I had a dream in which I was in a place, so dark that I could not see
even my hand in front of my face. Then a brilliant white shining path appeared
stretching out into the distance into the darkness, so white I almost could not
look at it. This made the darkness seem even more dark, the contrast between
the two was a complete polar opposite. But in the dream I knew that as long as I
remained in the path I would be safe, it didn't matter whether I was just standing on
the path, walking or running along it, I would be safe.

Sometimes it's all we can do just to remain upright on that path when troubles
come and it's a struggle to stay upright. Other times we make great leaps and
bounds in our faith. But the path is always there in front of us showing the way.

God bless everyone hope you have a good day today.

God is amazing Miri.

Just fyi ;) when God said let there be light he used the word ore which is a Godley light. It is not sunlight or a torchlight.

Ore was also the light God gave Israel when they were in Egypt as part of His 10 miracles...

Said of Daniel:

Daniel 5:14 NKJV
[14] I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and
understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

May the light of God be so apparent in our lives that everyone can see it.

Interesting thing about light is that light intensifies colors, have you ever had an object in your hand and when light hits it you see the colors of the rainbow? have you noticed how vivid and beautiful they are compared to colors you see everyday?

The rainbow is God's promises and the light intensifies them, something to ponder:)

The rainbow consist of seven colours (perfect number) and if all the colours are mixed together you get this pure white colour :)

I am not sure how relevant this is, but your OP immediately brought this to mind, Miri, and I am not even sure when or where I heard this, only that it was very recently brought to my attention that Jesus, in holding all things together at all times, was holding the fist that struck him, the hand that slapped Him, the spittle that sprayed His face as He was being beaten and humiliated. He held together the thorns of the crown that pierced his brow and the lashes of scourge which was flogging Him. He held together the cellular construction of the wooden cross as He hung on it, dying, to pay for the sins of the world. And all the while He was loving us, loving every single one of us, and hoping, and praying, that we would repent, and turn from our sin, subjugate our will to His, and believe on Him. Amazing love. Truly, truly, truly, the Light of this world.

The real questions are Who/What/Etc. is GOD and how was Jesus HIS Perfect Image, Perfect GOD in flesh man? That's Truth that no one on tv, etc. is talking about and that's if they can even explain. It's like a pastor, etc. saying you should be baptized and you ask why and they quote "to fulfill all righteousness", which is True. However, ask them to explain the True meaning and they cannot or do not, which is evil/demoonic/luna(r)tick.

Reminds me of the following hymn by Charles Wesley

1. Let earth and heaven combine,
Angels and men agree,
To praise in songs Divine
The' incarnate Deity,
Our God contracted to a span,
Incomprehensibly made man.

2. He laid His glory by,
He wrapp'd Him in our clay,
Unmark'd by human eye
The latent Godhead lay;
Infant of days He here became,
And bore the mild Immanuel's name.

3. See in that Infant's face
The depths of Deity,
And labour while ye gaze
To sound the mystery:
In vain; ye angels, gaze no more,
But fall, and silently adore.

4. Unsearchable the love
That hath the Saviour brought,
The grace is far above
Or man or angel's thought;
Suffice for us, that God we know,
Our God is manifest below.

5. He deigns in flesh to' appear,
Widest extremes to join,
To bring our vileness near,
And make us all Divine;
And we the life of God shall know,
For God is manifest below.

6. Made perfect first in love,
And sanctified by grace,
We shall from earth remove,
And see His glorious face;
His love shall then be fully show'd,
And man shall all be lost in God.

Rev_21:23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Rev_22:5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

Just love this song, I have a brilliant sax part for this.
Its one of the few songs that can get me dancing around my bedroom
with pretend mic in hand. :D

To see you high and lifted up,
shining in the light of your glory
pour out your power and love
as we sing holy, holy, holy.
