Who are the descendants of God?

Is every spirit a descendant of God?

Is Jesus a descendant of God?

Is the Holy Spirit a descendant of God?

Is Satan a descendant of God?

Is Adam and Eve a descendant of God?

Is good and evil a descendant of God?

Are all the angels a descendant of God?

Is every being a descendant of God?

We are children of God, fallen but forgiven.
I guess in a philosophical way, you could translate that into being descendants of God. But I think saying it that way would make it sound like one thinks too much of himself. As if we're kind of godlike ourselves. I'd be careful where you go with the "descendants of God" thing.

Jesus and the Holy Spirit ARE God!

Not sure what you are getting at with the rest of your post!

"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God," John 1:12

All depends what you mean by descendant:)

Cerrity - you just need to read the bible to know these answers.

It's a word game attributing various qualities to the term "descended". It's not productive, because it leads to labyrinthine conjecture. Language has this nature, because in different connotation many words can seem the same but have very different implication. The questions proposed are sound, but not stated precisely, perhaps intentionally. You might get better answers exchanging "created" for "descended".

Will you come to the conclusion "because God created Satan" and "God created mankind", then Satan is somehow the "brother of mankind"? No. No more than a "wall I manifest on a house" is the brother of a "wall I manifest on a school". These constructs are not my descendants.

The obvious discrepancy from the original post here is "Did Jesus descend from God?". Yes, in a way, but no in a way. The "value" of the term "descended" does not apply as a "logical" derivative. It's simply an improper notation, it is "bad math". The answer lies somewhere in "the nature of God", which to us is indefinable, or "empty set".

Additionally, but I didn't edit in time...

This is akin to a classical question, "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?". You cannot answer this because the "word angel" has indefinable value, while "pin" can have definable value. I can set "pin value" because of its size and other qualities as "p", but "angel" has no such parameter. So we get the question, "how many (no symbol) fits on p", the answer is empty set, or no answer, because a "value" in the proposition has "no value". Modern math, particularly theoretical physics, tries its hardest to assign "value" to speculative value and this might very well be possible with a "new math", but if anyone knows the nature of "a math" without "a contrast of values and variables", they're not talking.

This reminds me wayyy back in calculus the expression "as x approaches infinity". It took becoming a Christian that the finite does not approach the infinite, i.e. 4 is just as close to infinity as 4 billion. The infinite must 'reach down' to approach the finite.

Exactly. I can say similar things. "How many numbers are larger than 4 but less than 3?". It has no real meaning or value, but I just said it. Look at it. The fact I have just said it makes the question itself as an "empty bowl". The "bowl" is right there, you can see it, but the "contents" appear empty. This is the nature of "empty set".

The same is true with any equation with an answer of "infinity".

Yes good and evil is descendants of God. Good is a lovely girly girl now in her 20's, bad is a rascal of a boy.

Please people of God, don't give validity and seriousness to this ridiculous post, shame if you do. :/

Hi Cerrity, not sure if descendants is the right word, but I do believe anything and everything was created by God. That includes Satan and evil.

Isa_45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isa 54:16
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

The connotation of descendent is "blood kin." God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are Three Persons in One. One is NOT the "descendent" of the other, for He, They have always been. There was never a time when He/they were not.

Christians are ONLY "descendents" in that through Grace and the precious blood of Christ, we become "Heirs to the Promise" BY ADOPTION...........

I have to question anyone posting such a comment and not bothering to come back and discuss their intent.

God has no descendants in any literal sense. Full stop.

You believe everyone is a child of God even
though you can plainly read in the bible this is not true?

How come?
