I was just realizing something lastnight, and maybe some of you had already thought of this, but this was just so awesome that I had to share.
I was thinking about the comparisons between the first “miracles” of Moses and Jesus.
Moses represents the Law, because God gave him the law for His people. The first plague that God worked through him was turning water into blood. This brought death, sorrow, thirst and hunger. (Ex 7:14-25)
Jesus brought a new covenant, brought mercy, and grace. His first miracle was turning water into wine. This brought joy, laughter, celebration, and it was said that this is the best wine that was served. (Jh 2:1-10) Also, this was done at a wedding. We, as believers, as the church, are brides of Christ. One day He's calling us home and there will be the marriage supper of the Lamb. (Rev 19:9) Jesus said to us, “But I say unto you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom”. (Matt 26:29)
How exciting is that!?
