In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Chicken.

God created all the animals first, then they reproduced. It's in Genesis...

Genesis 1:21
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

From our perspective...being that which is in the shell of the egg...that which nourishes the developing chick was first experienced, then we came out and it was the atmosphere/air through the shell next...which is cold until the hen sits on us...etc....that is... if you are talking about the parable.Matthew 23:34-38King James Version (KJV)

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Galatians 4:26-28King James Version (KJV)

26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Think and ponder this parable.

The game I have introduced...if practiced and performed on a high schoovisible, if the track was full of only people who were wearing white on the track (thereby winning the game), and there was no room for a trespass line on that particular track....
It would look like an egg. To make room for a trespass line...those in white would have to play on the green field, which has 4 corners, and both end zones would be not visible if that field was full and white. The field goals would still be visible, and the trespass line would then be on the track, and probably very colorful.
Interesting is that one of the most popular games in the U.S.A. involves two teams, playing with a pig skin in an attempt to get it to an end zone in the hands of a player...or to be kicked through a field goal in the midst of a large audience, and is called football. Football has more rules than the game being introduced through me.

In the National Football league, I do not think there is a track and field, just a field.

Maybe we should think again about playing this game, which includes a wall/veil.
Revelation 7:1-3King James Version (KJV)

7 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Still pondering this parable myself....
Maybe the field should be natural, showing the tender plant of the springtime, the elder deep rooted plant of the summer time heat, the firstfruits of the fall time harvest, and the cold white of winter time clean of snow.
;)
Matthew 16:2-4Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
Genesis 8:21-22Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
John 10:20-30Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? 21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
Zechariah 14:6-9Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 but it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

Then I suppose the egg, being not born again is still first what we experienced. I suppose we experienced the death of the egg first then eh?

Matthew 11:27-30King James Version (KJV)

27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Luke 13:7-9King James Version (KJV)

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Luke 13:20-22King James Version (KJV)

20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
Matthew 12:39-45King James Version (KJV)

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Remember, both are true very often regarding the perspectives of parables.
Isaiah 58:1-12King James Version (KJV)

58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

2 Corinthians 8:10-15King James Version (KJV)

10 And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

If we're talking about a chicken hatching from an egg, it's weak and wobbly at first.. prime for any grown wolf (or whatever meat eating animal) to eat it. But with the adult chicken being first, it can have better chance for survival, and protect it's chicks.

Most just born animals are not ready to protect itself, but needs protection from it's parents. Plus, the milk suckers wouldn't survive without mother's milk.

Genesis 1:1-31
[SUP]1 [/SUP] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters."
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the third day.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
[SUP]15 [/SUP] and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."
[SUP]21 [/SUP] So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
[SUP]23 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so.
[SUP]25 [/SUP] And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]26 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
[SUP]27 [/SUP] So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
[SUP]28 [/SUP] Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
[SUP]29 [/SUP] And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so.
[SUP]31 [/SUP] Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2:1-3
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Here is your answer as to which came first.
