How do I get better at hearing the Holy Spirit when he's talking to me?

I want to be able to hear the Holy Spirit better than I can now. Actually I'm really getting to point where I need to hear from him. I mean, I think I can hear from him sometimes, but it's really hard for me to tell. Is there anyway, I can hear from him better? Actually, I also think that being able to hear from better would also help me out with my fears...

get a hearing aid :p im just kidding tho they are used to amplfy sound so logically that should make you hear better

The only thing I could add to aspen's advice would be to share your fears and frailties with other believers. That may not be us, but it could be someone else you feel comfortable with doing so. As the body of the Church we care about when other parts of our body are injured, and we can help repair them.

God can speak to us in many ways, but I've never personally heard him speak in an audible fashion to me. So I couldn't tell you how to hear him better without him speaking audibly in the first place. My question to you is that if what you have a concern over can be found in the Scriptures, then why would God speak audibly to you? I believe he has already spoken. Search out his will in his Word. These two things are my only advice. Take it easy, bro.

The problem is that when I talk about my fears people tend to get annoyied with me...

From what I've seen, most of the time God doesn't speak audiblely, actually I've never heard him myself...

Yah don expect God to speak audibly.. do expect a quiet, strong hand..

He will directly speak to you through application of scripture into your life. That is how He does it.

The few time I feel I've heard from God was when I was talking to a friend about a major issue in my life. And through her she answered alot of the questions I had, and I know that it was from God, there was no way she would have know what questions I needed answered otherwise. I also do struggle sometimes when making decesisions especially now since I want to let him guide me in my relationships, but sometimes I think I let my own feelings and wants get in the way...listening definetly isnt easy, but I do believe he talks...

be still before the lord, and meditate on him. he honors worhship of himself. being still before him is the hard part, and takes practice. try not thinking of anything but jesus, and let all of your other thoughts go. don't ask any questions, just wait on him to speak. it is communication from the son of god that we are seeking, and he knows everything.

with prayers in his name.

I prayed a week about my sick womb before going to the Bne Healing Rooms with my preacher Christian friend. After praying for me and cutting soul-ties in my relationships and after i repented of something. The Church lady was given a 'word of knowledge' for me from Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She did not know my womb was sick. She told me Jesus had told her to tell me 'my womb and all its tendrils are healed. It was awesome that Jesus answered my prayers. I called it a Word of God, but it is called a 'word of knowledge', my Christian friend told me. Dear Lord, help me spread your fragrance, wherever, i go.

God speaks to me through His Word too that i read.

Remember Bro, that much of what The SPIRIT is going to say to you has to do with directing you to The Word of GOD, and particularly JESUS' Words....

Relax my friend, GOD is Eternal, and SO ARE YOU..........Do not worry, this certainly won't help you hear THE STILL SMALL VOICE......OF GOD.

What it will do is frustrate you to listening to another voice and mistakenly thinking it's GOD................Just keep reading the Word and THANKING

GOD for being able to hear HIM clearly. Also, not everything is SPOKEN........Some things are visual like if you are sitting outside and it's a beautiful

day, and you see a bird flying nearby and suddenly land about 20-25 feet away from you........Then it hops about a foot or so from where it landed,

and suddenly grab a big nightcrawler...........WHAT DOES THIS SAY DOTH..............? IT SAYS GOD PROVIDES EVERYTHING YOU NEED, IT IS A

SCRIPTURE..............IF GOD SO PROVIDES EVEN FOR THE BIRDS OF THE AIR, (OR SPARROWS) HE WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU TOO......

YOU ARE WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN MANY SPARROWS................My Friend.

Rest Doth, you are doing fine, you are growing, learning and maturing in HIM, and be at ease My Friend, maturity takes time........GOURDS

PRAYER!!!! seek the Lord, shut the TV off, fast, pray and study your word. The bible tells us to walk in the Spirit (meaning obeying and doing all things with a spiritual mind. I have heard God's audible voice once in my life. It was very distinct, clear and more of a thundering sound then someone talking. I have also heard others who have heard his voice say that he says what he has to say in a very short way, he will not give a long speech on what he wants you to do, but rather only a few words. Just seek God with all you heart mind and soul and you will be more "in tune" with the spirit of God.
