[SUP]5 [/SUP] The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

I know what your thinking "this is an O.T scripture" but was it brought over into the N.T 2 Timothy 2:9 & 1peter 3

I know years ago, no matter what denomination you was in, most of the women wore dresses. even in old movies and pictures ladies wore dresses.

have we missed a "small fox" by changing on this? especially in view of this homosexual spirit that has invaded America and the church, with the blending of the sexes.

How often do you wear your robe out in public? Ever? Never? Why not? That was the dress code two thousand years ago. Shouldn't you be ashamed of yourself for not dressing like they did back then? It was good enough for Jesus.

Why is it ALWAYS men who start these types of inflammatory and foolish, time-wasting threads? It's pure bias based on ignorance and it is an affront to right-thinking people everywhere. You appear to have a bias against women, man. Are or were you married?

Women are not to wear men's clothing to pass themselves off as men, and men are not to wear women's clothing to pass themselves off as women. That is the spirit of the matter. Women can wear pants made for women---even with a fly in them.

I love this topic. There is about as much evidence in the Bible condemning women wearing pants as there is condemning homosexuality.

Are you kidding me?? I had to wear dresses in public high school till grade 11. That was 1969 or so, a long time ago. And it was often -60F for weeks. We had to wear pants or ski pants under our dresses on the way to school, pull them off and put them in our locker and then back to the washroom to pull them back on, preferably long before the bus left on its 5 mile trip. But not on the two pant days a year!

Just so you know, the reason they changed the rules was because two grade 12 guys got suspended for wearing beards. (They would have fit right in NT and OT times). We got a huge petition going and they were reinstated. Then the girls started talking and we said, if they can wear beards, we can wear pants, especially in the winter. So another petition. By that time, the year was over, and the mean principal retired, and the new one let us wear pants.

We didn't wear shorts or immodest clothes, because it was never really warm enough to wear them, except one May in the gym for reward night, where we were all dressed up and it went up to 90F after a cold winter. Lots of girls fainted, leading me to believe that dresses hold a lot of heat!

Oh the joys growing up in northern Alberta!

But seriously, he used one verse from the book of Deuteronomy. Similar to the verses against homosexuality in Leviticus, these are some of the many, many laws for the Hebrew people. Many of these laws are completely unnecessary and somewhat inappropriate if followed today (Marrying your brothers wife, women's cleansing rituals, sacrificing laws, not eating shellfish, letting one's hair be left unkept, banned from religious ceremonies 30-60 days after giving birth, mixing fabric in clothing, and mistreating foreigners....I guess Mr. Trump may be guilty on that last one). Obviously, these laws were meant for a certain group of people (the Israelites) at a certain point in time (not even modern-day Jews follow the Law of Moses exactly). Yet somehow, people can cherry-pick certain rules from that time and proclaim them as everlasting commands by God. And of course, we humans in our infinite wisdom know which laws were just temporary and which ones were permanent. Go figure!

Moving on, the topic creator also gave a few NT verses condemning women wearing pants (men's clothing). There are also some fascinating verses talking about women being silent in the church and so forth. These are obviously cultural laws of that time, not ones that women feel they need to follow today.

So even though the Bible COMMANDS that women be silent in the church, we know that that is not an everlasting commandment with no restrictions, but rather a cultural command that must be understood within it's context...

Kind of like the verse in Romans that hints at homosexuality being wrong. It's actually talking about temple prostitution/fornication. There were certain temples around that time where orgies would pretty much take place in honor of that particular god. This is obviously a no-no.

The other verse in 1 Corinthians only had the word homosexuals added in much later translations. It did not appear in the King James translation.

Homosexual love. One person committed solely to another through the bonds of marriage, is not declared a sin anywhere in the Bible.

But then again, let the haters hate.

Oh man! It was a similar story here in Southern Ontario, with lake effect snowfalls, and very cold days but not as cold as Alberta! Brutal on the legs when you had to trudge a mile through deep snow to school in dresses. In the late 50's, though, leotards came in...what a blessing! And the snowpants were very heavy and made the trudging very hard work!

oh I cant find any ... But im just going to say it to be a legalistic pious git!
