Plus braking the 8th commandment which inturn cause you to brake them all, you lose trust, at some point you have to lie braking the 9th commandment. If you have children you brake their hearts alone with your sposes, there could be another life brought into the world, to name a few problems.
John 6:63, 65 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life....65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

I Corinthians 4:7 "For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?"

Viewing pornography is lusting after lust. It is the deliberate cultivation of lust.

We aren't what we ought to be. We aren't what we're going to be. We aren't what we want to be. But, thank God, we aren't what we were.

Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed...Joshua 13:1-12 NKJV

Nevertheless the children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maachathites, but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day (Gal. 5:19-21). Joshua 13:13 NKJV

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. (the works of the flesh must go, or else we will find that they will cause us tremendous problems [2 Cor. 6:14-18; 7:1]). 56 Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them. (sin in the Believer, if left unaddressed, can be condoned by the Lord no more than sin in the unbeliever - even less). Numbers 33:55-56

God's prescribed order of victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil is to place your Faith exclusively in who Jesus is, and what Jesus has done. By doing so this glorifies Christ that gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to drive out the enemy. The Holy Spirit, He Works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "the Cross of Christ", which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15). The Holy Spirit is the sanctifier for the Christian; we cannot sanctify ourselves.

And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee (Deuteronomy 7:22). The beasts of the field represent pride and self righteousness.

We learn from Deuteronomy 7:21-23, Exodus 23:30 (Type and Shadow), little by little will He remove the sin nature that is made dormant in our lives. Isaiah 28:10 says, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"

How does a Believer maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV

Romans 8:13 says, "If you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live." Paul warns the Believer, he said, "For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, (the) sin (nature) revived, and I died (failed God by sinning, using the flesh) (Romans 7:9)." Zechariah 4:6

The sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit mortifies the deed of the flesh by changing my condition into my position which is perfect and Holy because God has declared us justified (not guilt and innocent).

As a Christian we were "set free" the moment we are saved - "made free" speaks of a process. "Set Free," i.e., instantaneous - "Made Free, " i.e., You should know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32, John 14:6). "Made Free" = sanctification.

    Two kinds of peace
    1. Justifying Peace - This is Peace with God, a legal standing. Rom. 8:7; Eph. 2:14-15

    2. Sanctifying Peace - This is the Peace of God in the heart. Rom. 8:6; 14:19; 15:13; Gal. 1:3

The first is the result of a legal standing. The second is the result of the Work of the Holy Spirit. The first is static, never fluctuates, the second changes almost from hour to hour. The first, every Christian has, the second, every Christian may have.

    Hello Friend,

I have struggled with this idea in the past myself. Jesus has helped me have victory and power over this sin. I thank him everyday. I never thought pornography was sin either until I learned more about it though God's Word. Unlawful thoughts of lusting caused by watching pornography is indeed SIN. Here are a few scriptures that show if your watching and lusting after pornography you are indeed sinning against God and will not inherit God's Kingdom. My prayer is that you will turn to God who will forgive you and give you the power to follow him (1 John 1:9)

Did you know the origin of pornography comes from the base of the Greek word for fornication "porneia"

    STRONG'S CONCORDANCE

    FORNICATION

4202 porneía (the root of the English terms "pornography, pornographic"; cf. 4205 /pórnos) which is derived from pernaō, "to sell off") – properly, a selling off; surrendering of sexual purity; promiscuity of any (every) type.
πορνεία porneia; from 4203;harlotry including adulteryand incest; figuratively, idolatry: — fornication.
4203. πορνεύω porneuō; from 4204; to act the harlot, i.e. (literally) indulging in unlawful lust (of either sex), or (figuratively) practice idolatry: — commit (fornication). Now when Jesus says...

    Matthew 5:28,

But I say unto you, That who so ever looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

    Matthew 19:9,
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.

Jesus is referring to sin originating in the thoughts... so if we are indulging in unlawful lust in our thoughts in relation to fornication as described above we have committed adultery and guilty before God of sin and need to repent and seek God for forgiveness because if we do not we will not inherit God's Kingdom and we are not following God and are in danger of the Judgement.

Please consider the following Scriptures. I hope they may be a blessing to you as they have been for me.

    Jude 1:7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
    Galatians 5:19-20
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, sedition, heresies, 21 Envying, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    Ephesians. 5:3
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints.

    1Thessolonians 4:3
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God
    Colosians 3:5
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.Revelations 9:20-21
20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
    1Corinthians 10:6
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

    1Corinthians. 6:18
    Flee fornication
. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; buthe that commits fornication sins against his own body.
    2 Corinthians. 12:20-21
20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envying, wrath, strife, backbiting, whispering, swellings, tumults: 21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewailmany which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

    Romans 1:29-32

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

    Isaiah 55:6-7

6, Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7, Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

God bless you friend as you study His Word. Also, God bless you for asking the right questions. I hope this is helpful for you so you may have a closer walk with Jesus who is always right near us when we need him.

    In Christ Always!

I think when one looks at the porn industry in general, look at it with a pair of open eyes, one has to ask if the moral decline of society is related with the amount of pornography that is available. And now with how much ease access to such material via the internet also makes this problem worse.

From what I understand, pornography can ruin relationships. Another thing to consider, pornography can become like a drug addiction, perhaps some kind of spiritual drug addiction if that makes any sense?

Not to mention there is that much money made in the porn industry. Question is, what does the porn industry promote? In my personal opinion I think the pornography industry is a big contributing factor for the moral decline of society.

    Matthew 5:27
You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Here Jesus talks about an act “look”. In the original Greek, one of the meanings for the word Jesus uses for “look” is intentional and repeated gazing. So, if you look at a woman with lust it's a sin.

I am not sure you won your argument there. You defeated what you had proposed. There is no point to look at pornography other than to lust, and lust is what defiles your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

But what about if you imagine or dream? It's not the same thing. Otherwise, why do people want to be married?
So, “look” and “dream” it's two diffident things. You can dream or wish about anything you want it's not going to change anything. We are people and before we make a choice we think first, we can think about good and bad it's part of our free will, but it's nothing while it's in our minds.
The reason why people think that watching pornography is a sin, is because it's new. Years ago my parents and my grand parents (and also many churches) thought that watching TV and listen to a music is a sin. But, now it's not a sin anymore.
In my opinion it's better to watch pornography than have real sex. You should think about consequences first and than about fun. But most of the people think only about fun. There are really bad consequences of sex. It's kids. I don't say that kids are bad, I say that having them is bad.
I think those people who have kids are foolish and selfish people who can't control their desires. Having kids is not a sin. However, Jesus never had them. Maybe it was a blessing to have kids before sin entered this world. But, now this world is cursed by God.
I don't want to bring sinful people into this sinful and cursed world. Why would I? This world doesn't deserve my child. I know that there are much more pain than joy in this world and I don't want my child to suffer in it. I don't want my child to grow up and say “Father, why you brought me into this sinful world? Why do I need all this problems?”
Let's look at what is considered the works of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Masturbation is a part of uncleanness. Wet dreams also. Masturbation is more of a waking mind and thus a voluntary sin whereas wet dreams can be of an involuntary sinful mind.

Lasciviousness, which is sexual excessiveness, is usually a result of a porn addict. One can develop an eye of adultery when one feed the wolf by way of pornography. Indeed. one can worship the outward appearance, wherein God would give them up to a reprobate mind and have gay thoughts.

Idolatry can be applied to pornography when worshipping the creature more than the Creator. Indeed, one can have inordinate affection towards that which is not real.

If we look at what the fruits of the Spirit are...

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The fruit temperance which is self control, testifies to the works of the flesh's power in that a saved believer can lose self control and find sin as in lust, having dominion over their lives again for which Paul points out what walking in the Spirit is as we read on from the verses above.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

    Finally...

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Proverbs 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

2 Peter 2:9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,........12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:...........18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

I would have to say that pornography feeds sin in your heart; lust & the pride of life.

1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

2 Corinthians 10:4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Colossians 3:1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

If you find yourself reading this and say.. no way.. I can't do that.... I cannot believe it is a sin...or you find yourself convicted but feared that sin has dominion over your life that you cannot quit....

Then go before that throne of grace for help, because that is what Jesus came to do and not just give us eternal life but to be able to live that reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.....8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:.........11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

May the Lord help you see the sin that is pornography for what it feeds and help you put it away & think on good things.... on the things above.

Does it hold value over God?
When you watch porn would you rather study God or watch porn?
Would it be difficult to just drop the porn right then and pick up a Bible?

If so that's when I believe it becomes a problem

When you watch porn would you rather study God or watch porn?
Would it be difficult to just drop the porn right then and pick up a Bible?

If so that's when I believe it becomes a problem
Is watching porn, committing adultery if you are married? and your spouse does not know or voices a displeasure that you watch it? Is it fornication, if you are single?

If a hetero married couple feel they need to use porn in their sex life and both are in agreement, that is best left to them and God alone.

If a hetero married couple feel they need to use porn in their sex life and both are in agreement, that is best left to them and God alone.

As it is, the people doing pornography are certainly doing it to display their pride of life in their flesh. So why support sinners?

Psalm 101:4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. 5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Pray for those sinners providing pornography because they need Jesus Christ as their Saviour also to save them from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life.

And pray for Christians not grounded in the word that they may see their need for Jesus to deliver them from pornography as well as the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
