the real burning issue id like to discuss is really the heart of the whole issue.there is only one lord jesus christ not a multitude of denominational christs he is the way to heaven and the father,, he confirms his word,, he has eternally joined to his gospel it is the gospel of our lord jesus christ. the gospel of god. we are ambassodors and preachers of that gospel and only by that gospel are we saved or can go to heaven [ 1 corintains ch 15 v 1 v 6]....so what happens if the gospel is changed and a different gospel is preached deos it really matter in the end if all people have to do is call upon the name of the lord to be saved if thats it then theres no real problem,,, the problem is that alot of these prosperity preachers are actually presenting a different jesus and a different gospel they leave out repentance from sin and the day of judgement and the wrath of god and the cross and when they mention the cross its about all the ..good things we get from the cross. but christ died at calvary for our sins he suffered the wrath of god to save us eternally from the lake of fire we are destined for hell the lake of fire unless we repent and ask for forgiveness and recieve him as lord and saviour we will be dancing to the tune of false christianity. a sinners prayer is not the gospel of jesus christ... if you change the gospel and replace it with a man made one .. that god wants you to have a wonderfull life and wants to build up your self worth and you can have whatever you prophesy by the words of your mouth and you will have a life of happiness under complete protection and financial prosperity.....then the world will come but ..when the cares of life come and persecution arises for the word sake and satan attacks...then they become a bitter backslider because in truth they were given a false gospel ...you see when you change the gospel you preach another jesus ..we are in this world not of it...and there is only one way to heaven,, the lord jesus christ ..alan lamont [ matthew ch 7 v 13 - 15.. enter you in at the straight gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leads to destruction and many there is that go that way. because straight is the gate and narrow is the way. that leads to life...and few there be who find it,,, beware of false prophets who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.... ephesians ch 6 v 12.. for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against princapalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places,,,,;;;; 2 peter ch 2v 19 while they promise them liberty they themselves are servants of corruption,

Theres only one way and that is Jesus! I've been at a church where they never even said the sinners prayer. So I thank God for the sinners prayer. There has to be a begining. But it very important what the church does after the sinners prayer. It is very important when the people very first walk into the church. Are they greeted with kindness? Do people smile at them? Do people even acknowledged they are there? We are to be love. We can't even preach to them if we can't show them love to where they would even want to come back.
We will be held accountable.

There's no sinner's prayer in the Bible, so I think the emphasis on starting with a "sinner's prayer" may be a bit misplaced. It is true that there must be a definite point of turning from sin and to God, and this event can be marked by prayer, but I know too many fellow "Christians" who, in the end, have actually put their trust in the prayer more than the God they pray to. "How do I know I'm saved? I prayed the prayer." The view the event of prayer not as a milestone, so to speak, but as the destination.

Seer- I agree with you to some extent. The caveat, however, is that my gospel is probably different from yours in some fashion, and yet I'm convinced that the gospel as I understand it is the biblical one and your's may only be shades of biblical. In turn, you would probably say the same thing to me. We can agree that Christ is the center of the gospel, but how that is true we may dispute. Fortunately, God saves those who repent and trust in Him, not those who have the right doctrine.

seer:

What exactly is your agenda? It seems like in the past few days you have posted more threads than all of us put together. Has it occurred to you that you are trying to convince people of something, that for some reason you need people to agree with your point of view? Just curious what you are trying to accomplish. If you are looking for fault in people to display publicly, then you might as well post something about all of us. Pastor Keith made a good point that we've all missed the mark. I would examine yourself to figure out why you feel a need to point out other people's faults.

you need balance i know,,, its just you breathe this and immediatley people are really afraid to call a false prophet a false prophet ,,, we are saved by grace through faith and being saved is about recieving christ himself and then there is sanctification its all a work of grace and of being filled with the holy spirit ,, look as believers we need cleansing everyday none of us have the right to judge wrongly but we have to rebuke false prophets... we are saved through christs death at calvary and his blood is the price for our salvation but without repentance theres no forgivness .im pointing out simply that its seriously dangerous when people preaching a false gospel and affect millions,

he gos on to say what what he preached in 1: 11. if we all agree that all scripture is inspired by God not man and that the Holy Bible is none other than truth then to add , take away, change or twist the word or God for humen comfort is wrong.
