(this should be ban proof.... Maybe not "shazam" proof.... I think Charles Stanley is pretty good.... Here's a statement: if the Word of God did not have God's stamp of approval, it would have fallen into obscurity long ago. But it still rings with the power of God to accomplish it's purpose, to lead people to life in Christ"... With that said... And this old cowboy being very unlearned... My question.. All these different versions of the bible... Are the really out to destroy God's word or are they just trying to reach those people who have the hardest time not understanding complex writing. Yes I know a lot of them leave out verses.... But if they wanted to find out even more wouldn't you just send them to the next Bible that would explain a little more and so on until they reached the KJV status?.. With help from a fellow Christian of course...... Ok, I'm gonna go hide behind that rock over there while y'all give me your opinions....))

It's all about the $$$. We had a perfect Bible. There is a new Bible coming out every couple of months. Why? Which Bible do they ultimately compare themselves to? The King James Bible. You sure can tell a book by its enemies.

If we think of the "God so loved the world that He gave us His Son" ....to actually include all the other nations of the world that do not read nor understand King Jimmie talk...I think the those translations done from the manuscripts might.....get the ok from the Holy Spirit..err I mean Ghost..I'm sure they will not put in the translations that the Spirit of God is a Ghost....just sayin'

( hiding behind the same rock as Txroads.....let's watch the show together buddy...nobody messes with Texas! )

Wow! What a ridiculous statement by Charles Stanley. There are just so many doctrinal issues abounding because no one understands the KJV, which was written 400 years ago, uses different words and grammar that we use today. We won't even get to the point that the MAJORITY of people in the world do not speak English.

The ultimate "status" is to read the Bible in Hebrew and Greek. That is what real theologians do. They don't read a translation which the language is not current and the manuscripts used were copies of copies, of copies of copies....

But, as I am just going to write about in another thread, amateur theologians on this site just love to invent things which no one else in 2000 years has somehow seen in the text of the Bible. And for reasons beyond my comprehension think that what they have to say is not only credible, but valuable.

After reading the ways that the Word of God has been translated by some of those on CC who claim that they are being led by the Holy Spirit to translate it, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm reading the same book that they are.
