There are some Messianic Gentiles that like to think so,
but the Messianic Jews know better.

This should be interesting.........
I think... ((pauses))........what the heck.......... The value of the old testament is as priceless today as it has always been.....there are invaluable teaching tools there for those who have yet to come to Christ.. I have spoken with those who have had questions regarding the love Jesus showed on the cross.... "he wouldn't do that for me you don't know what I've done."... My reply has been do you know how hard God tries to show you open doors... God has his chosen people whom he brought out of Egypt and with signs and wonders, miracles and his personal presence through the entire old testament he was there.. Time and again they complained turned from their God in ways we today could not even fathom... Idols.. Doubt...hard hearts... Double minded... Faithless... All in the midst of the Almighty staring them right in the face...the pillar of fire illuminating the darkness leaving no doubt as to the holiness of his light and power.....yet not even this....in the display of all his Majesty could they see through their blindness.... Until... Until he came of himself and stood in the flesh and said... Here I am.....this time... This time I leave you my words.... My love.... My spirit....and a moment that is burned into your hearts... Your spirits.... Your minds....of a God that so loves you that you will forever see whether you gaze upon it with your eyes or not.....the image of the cross and the redemptive blood that is etched in your soul.....there can be no doubt where you belong.... Come with your burdens, come with your stains, come with your fears and your doubts, come with your scars and your hurts.....and you'll find the cross had those same things....you can leave yours there and leave with the saviour holding your hand telling you he left his there also.... Because what he left there even before you showed up was yours..............

((dangit.... Y'all made that come out))

Those who are circumsized at the heart are real Jews Paul clearly states. He broke the wall of partition.

Christ took away gender (no male or female), nation (we are holy nation) and race (no Jew nor Gentile in Christ but everybody in Christ Jesus is now one new creation) meaning a species that never exited before!

That's why Paul warned us not to go into endless geneologies :) "From now on, we know nobody after the flesh anymore" as "the Kingdom doesn't come with observation" and we are seated in heavenly places with Him.

The clearest explanation of what Christ's work meant is found in the NT Epistles.
The OT contained shadows and types of what was to come.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
(Heb 1:1-2)

When it says 'He has spoken to us through His Son', it is speaking of the Apostles teachings transmitted to us in writing. (Even the four Gospels are included with that since Jesus never wrote an Epistle).

We must interpret the OT in light of the New not visa-versa.
Jeremiah 34:18 Those who have violated my covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and then walked between its pieces.

Genesis 15:8 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”

9 So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”

10 Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. 11 Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.

17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. 18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates—

Judges 19:29 When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel. 30 Everyone who saw it was saying to one another, “Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Just imagine! We must do something! So speak up!”

Hebrews 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Revelation 7:14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Hebrews 10:32 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.

Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

The old, everything was performed in the natural, but now it is done in spirit. And so, the laws still stand, but this time everything has to be perceived by its spiritual nature.

Like to honor you father and mother.

Matthew 23:9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

John 19:27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Without the old, you probably are offending someone.

Romans 7:7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

2 Corinthians 3:13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Hebrews 5:13
Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

The word Bible means bibliography and so it means to keep as a reference book in order to understand whom is God and which no one has acknowledge yet.

I used to be a new covenant Christian (living under) the old covenant of law.,meaning I was saved by grace through faith but after being saved I tried to live by the law (10 commandments written on stone) in order to keep my personal relationship with God.

Like when Paul found himself depressed because of seeing himself as he really was the more he tried in the flesh. Soon he became self occupied and hopeless so he cried out to God., "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death!!??" and later he sees God's solution and was able to say in deep conviction "I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord HE WILL!!"
Now I'm a new covenant Christian living under the covenant of grace that Jesus brought. Welcome to CC ramx2016

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 KJVS
[16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. [17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Welcome to cc :) I guess your very first thread has given you a taste of the forum! There's much discussion. A Few pray before posting and a few post their truth with love. You figure out who's who. There are awesome people here though, humans. I haven't been on in quite awhile but like the folks I've encountered. Some entertain with their nit picking. Makes me wonder what seekers think about belonging to this family, the body of Christ. God Bless you!

It's about like trying to find a diamond earring in a septic tank. There are some genuinely great people here, but there are a whole bunch that need to stretch their bottom lips over their heads and swallow.

Had to look at this to see what a New Testament Believer was..........what does "VERY straight forward" mean?"

Don't all Christians believe in the New Testament as the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Hmm

My apologies! Like I said I am new here... seems like there are a lot of dominations in here - didn't know if it was separated somehow....
If I understand you correctly it means you understand what God is saying to us in these last days through His Son. New wine is to be put in new bottles and both are preserved. Its so sad that here 2000 years later you say this among professing Christians and they look at you like your in a cult. Praise Jesus for allowing me to see His spiritual truths! God reigns!

There's no such thing as an Old Testament Christian. The New Testament did not begin until after the death of the testator, Jesus Christ.

I mean there must be fifty verses at least in the New Testament that explains this. I'm not judging we were all under a guardian before, but I strongly believe that we either understand this truth or we end up parishing in the wilderness.

All christians are "new testament christians".
The new testament is the only place to become one. But yeah, I understand what you're saying.
The question probably should have been; "are there any people here that believe all the bible and believe it is the inspired word of God?"
Most would answer they are and they do, but their talk belies their claims.
Many here claim to be christian but don't believe all the bible. Many here hold some mighty foolish doctrines that have little to do with the actual word.

Truly sad. What people don't understand is that when you try to live by both the OT and the NT you fail to obey either one of them. But when you live by the New Testament alone both are intact. That is not false doctrine that is true Christianity!

Yes, Enoch, Abraham, David displayed a closer resemblance to the NT walk of faith than many legalistic Christians.
