No one is worthy of themself.
What makes us worthy is that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to pay the price of our unworthyness on the cross.
We become worthy when we confess our unworthyness and believe that God will forgive us because of His love for us.
When we do that, God the Father only sees the blood of His Son, Jesus when He looks at us.

Its all about Jesus and what He did for me, not about me and what I do.

A sample prayer a Spirit-filled man of God used to bring many to salvation. Though we must mean what we pray with all our hearts, these not magic words of lip service, this is a good place to start, for one who desires salvation and means it:

Dear God, I know that You love me, but I confess that I'm a sinner and my sin deserves judgement. I need and want mercy. Jesus, You died to save me, and You promised to save me if I would trust You. I do trust You, Jesus. I believe You are the son of God. I believe you paid for my sin with Your blood on the cross. I believe that God raised You from the dead and right now, yes right now, Jesus, I am trusting You to save me. Come into my life, forgive my sin, cleanse me, and begin now to make me the person You want me to be. And Lord Jesus, help me never to be ashamed of You, because You died for me. In Your name I pray, with all love and thankfulness. Amen.

I hope and pray these things help you. It is a serious matter, by far the most serious matter in anybody's life.

God so loved the world. He loves us all equally. The world has differing standards of worth. God sees us of equal worth.

But compared with God we are ALL unworthy. That is why Christ died for ALL, that they which live might not live unto themselves but unto Christ who died for them and rose again,

I apologize for my outburst earlier this morning. I am feeling pulled apart emotionally and I'm not dealing with it well. I need some time to sort things out, so I won't be around much for awhile. Yes, I am going through my own personal Hell right now, but like General George S. Patton said 'If you're going through Hell, keep going".

LOL..I love the Patton quote...

We all go through it at some time in our lives and at different times throughout our life. Life happens and sometimes it's like walking through hell....

All is well brother! The Lord has you in His hands. He is inside of you and will never leave you nor forsake you! He loves you dearly and you are His absolute favorite! He loves being with you!

Hi LS, don't let a guilty conscience condemn you when Jesus has forgiven you. It's okay-all of us have ugly stories in our past.

Jesus wants us to look to a new future-a good one.

People have taught me not to trust but God is teaching me to trust Him.

He wants to know you. He wants to comfort you. He knows what it's like to be deserted and judged by everyone. He really does understand and He is always on your side-wanting what is best for YOU.

Don't give up hope-it's name is Jesus.

From my personal experience this is way to complicated. And before I was saved, the only thing that I understood(and Just basically) was God sent His Son to die on the cross for our sins.

I never went to church, my family never went to church. My Dad was saved(in his truck listening to the radio) after I left the house. He witnessed to me a few times, because I was running hard and didn't visit much.

I will try to make it as simple as possible.

One day, I was thinking I would beat up a few of my friends, because they never showed up to help me move. Steaming mad, I walked out my shop door and I stopped in my tracks and thought," this is YOUR fault, not your friends."

Coincidence? I went and talked to my dad. hadn't talked to him for a longtime and needed advice. His advice, "you need Jesus." Simple as that.

MY EXACT thought in my head," MAYBE this is true, MAYBE I do need Jesus."

And I got saved.

I didn't know about the love of God, a sinners prayer, the trinity, praying in His name, asking Jesus into my heart, that my sins NEEDED to be judged, Brutally honest here.....I wasn't even thinking about my sin, I didn't know about the blood, I didn't feel sorry,I didn't know he wanted to change me, I really didn't even know about salvation.

I was just at my wits end, and I said ,"MAYBE I do need Jesus."

“Whosoever believes in me will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:15
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:16
“He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has notbelieved in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jn 3:18
“He that believes the Son has everlasting life, and he that believes not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn 3:36
“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that which sees the Son, and believes on him, will have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”Jn 6:40
“Truly I say unto you, he that believes on me, has everlasting life.” Jn 6:47

We are all unworthy as all have sinned.

There is only ONE who is worthy yet his salvation towards us magnifies His love towards us.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Rom 5:8)

and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. And one of the elders said to me, "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals." And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth."
(Rev 5:4-10)

To all those showing their support as I go through this difficult time - Thank you, and God bless each of you.

To all the haters, I am showing you that "you're number one", but I have to use my middle finger to do so.

Hope that doesn't put me in the 'hater' camp, but I'll gladly join with those who are 'unworthy'.

If there was anyone who wasn’t goodenough, it was a woman of Samaria whomJesus met at Jacob’s well. All the otherwomen came to the well in the early morning. She came during the hottest part of the daywhile no one else was around. She had a“reputation” and didn’t want to experience yetagain others’ condemning looks and hurtfulcomments. Jesus knew that this Samaritanwoman had already been married five times, and that she was now living with someonewho wasn’t her husband. He knew all hersins, all the secrets of her life, yet she feltthat He understood her, that He loved heranyway. She had faith in Him, and at last shefelt accepted.
Jesus loves to have you come to Him justas you are.

That nicely shows that God loves us despite our unworthiness.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

I think it's weird to say we're unworthy to receive His mercy and be saved. Worthy: worth. Apparently all people have enough worth for Him to die for, otherwise He wouldn't have given His Life for the world.

I believe it was out of sheer grace that He died for us who deserved His wrath.

Grace. Unmerited, undeserved favor.

Amen...I agree...to our good, loving Father and our Lord Jesus we are precious to them and they obviously consider us worthy and of such value to them that the Father sent Jesus to make a place for us in Them. We are deeply loved by the Lord!

Obviously, I am unable to articulate what I am trying to communicate. Instead of getting frustrated about it - since I am the only one who knows what I am really talking about, I am just going to let this thread die the death it deserves. Perhaps later I will be able to wrap words around my feelings on this matter, but it's going to take time for self reflection. I appreciate the help, but burying me in scripture is not helping. It's harming.

This is one of the reasons I try hard not to just quote Scripture at people, and invariably end up getting my butt chewed about the "omission." LOL
