Pork rinds are good. I agree with your assessment about the celery. Carrot sticks can be problematic as well.

I like celery smothered in Mayo.
I also like carrots dipped in humous! But there again I am from
another planet!

Does the bible talk about anything that implies that there is life in other planets. I am drawn to the growing belief amongst scientists that we might not be the only occupants on earth or in the galaxy.

I think the closest you're going to get is Psalm 115:16;

"The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men."

Notice it doesn't say God gave any other planets to men - just the earth.

No such thing as aliens. They're angelic hosts.

If people that claim they've seen them describe their appearance having anything other than the image of man, then they are seeing Satan's angels playing tricks on their mind.

I can't remember anything in the Bible that discusses this.

I figured this topic would have generated more heated discussion. It seems to be a topic of thought in the modern day with all the new discoveries of astronomy, butting up against traditional views that God created the Heavens and the Earth, all for us talking apes. Kinda figured you folks would have me flipping through my Bible like crazy, but I've been terribly disappointed. I suppose I'm going to just have to have my own views on the matter and get my learning elsewhere in other threads.

Genesis 1:1-31
[SUP]1 [/SUP] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters."
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the third day.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
[SUP]15 [/SUP] and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."
[SUP]21 [/SUP] So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
[SUP]23 [/SUP] So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so.
[SUP]25 [/SUP] And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[SUP]26 [/SUP] Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
[SUP]27 [/SUP] So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
[SUP]28 [/SUP] Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
[SUP]29 [/SUP] And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so.
[SUP]31 [/SUP] Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

I do not see anywhere in these verses where God says He created life on other plants in other Solar systems. Like it or not, we are the only life there is. There is no other life on other planets. Face it folks, we are it and there is nothing else outside of the planet Earth.

Then you have to ask yourselves why do others claim there is life on other planets? I believe is because of Demons deceiving people that account for so much interest in Alien beings.

Nothing i've read discusses aliens. I won't dismiss the idea, but i find it highly unlikely.
What i do dismiss is that they can travel to earth. IF aliens do exist, i don't believe God would have us meet them. That would be a major experience in the life of humanity and likely referred to in the bible.
But more likely they don't exist. We are God's special creation.
I dont know exactly what Aliens are, but I believe they exist. There are too many reports from sane, level headed people
who have had some sort of encounter with these beings. Many reports come from the Military, Police and Civil Air Pilots
who risk ridicule and loss of livelyhood reporting their experiences. I believe they come from another dimension rather than outer space. I also believe that many of the worlds Governments know more about this than they are willing to admit. As it happens I have just seen a documentry on the Roswell incident back in 1947.

I am a great fan of science fiction. And I prayed for a long time as to what the answer was, to if there is life on other planets. Science has been looking for alien life for a long time. SETI is a huge project set up to detect radio waves from far away galaxies. Lots of big dishes, and big money.

As early as the late 18th century, Tesla hypothesized picking up radio waves from foreign planets and galaxies. But it wasn't until the 1960's people started actively looking for life on other worlds. Today, Stephen Hawking is investing money in the continued search for radio waves from outside our planet.

But none have ever been detected. So people are trying bigger and bigger ways to detect aliens.

The Bible is definitely short on any information about aliens. (Lost_Sheep!!). God's purpose in the Bible was to call a people to himself from which the Messiah would come. When he was born and grew up, those people by and large did not recognize him. Instead, the Gentiles took up the torch of believing in Christ, and spreading the good news.

I settled in my heart a long time ago that there simply are no aliens. One of the strange things that influenced me, was Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy and beyond. Asimov is of Jewish heritage, but claimed to be an atheist. In real life when he wasn't writing books, he was a professor of chemistry. He recognized that the conditions necessary to create life were simply too rare to have arisen on any other planets. One can only hope he had a real change of heart about God, before he died.

So while God could have created life on other planets, the Bible does not support it. Jesus came to earth here, and the unique conditions God created for human beings to live in, are not available on a lot of other planets, from what scientists can so far tell. I have a lot of apologetics information at home about the narrow conditions which have to be in perfect harmony for life as we know to exist. Even Star Trek, Star Wars and other Sci Fi favourites, assume that the same conditions exist on other planets, except in rare cases. God created the earth to be perfect for human life and supporting animal life.

A lot of words to say "NO ALIENS!!"

It might be more helpful if you'd post your beliefs on it instead of just being disappointed...unless you were just hoping for a "fight" to watch...

I haven't seen any talking Apes recently unless you include some Politicians I could name. As for flipping through the Bible well if there isn't any mention of them in it there is not much point. Most people do have their own views on the subject.

I'm not surprised that there is nothing about Aliens in the Bible. It was written during times when peoples view and knowledge of things was very different from ours. Apart from that the Bible deals with our relationship with God through the experiences of Israel not through those living in the 21st century.

0808,

Might I suggest to you a small paperback from the 70's - UFO's Satanic Terror by Basil Tyson (1977).
It is out of print (I think) but copies can still be found.

Also 0808, for your immediate consideration check out this article at this link:
