I am just interested in hearing peoples idea of what sin means to them, not looking to argue or anything, but to learn

A topic for discussion, definitely. Sin, to me is a nature. Sin, is a condition. Sin is self-abuse, self-destruction, self-idolatry.

Sin, imo, is separate and different from 'sinning'

I am not sin, nor am I the cause of sin, but I am a sinner who was conceived in sin.

Final thought, sin is condemned in the flesh.

Would Jesus do it? Would you do it with him beside you? Then thats conviction, and you're sinning.

Sin is what separates us from God.

I think sin is operating outside of God's will and our separation from God is eternal death unless we are saved.

3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

I believe that truth has a center and it gets a lot of Christians mad to hear that they are outside of the center.

So you are saying sin is an entity that causes sinful actions? and condemned in the flesh???

I agree that it offends people to hear that they are sinners. you said here that sin is operating out of Gods will......So sin is based on my understanding of Gods will then?

His commandments? the 10 commandments?
I would say at least these commandments.

And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he commanded us. 1 John 3:23

Therefore [in] all [things], whatever you want that people should do to you, thus also you do to them. For this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12

so if I follow My belief in Jesus, and treat others like I want to be treated then I'm good?
