Can someone please provide a Biblical explanation of how Christian female pastors came to be?

It's just a question...

We have a few in our area on TV so I thought I would ask...

Obvious Freudian sexist slip... my apologies... it was intentional.

Also, I can't imagine saying "Don't kill me sis..."

Is that wrong?

The most scriptural explanation I can think of is that while it's the norm for men to be in positions of leadership, God is no stranger to making exceptions. Deborah, Esther, Mary Magdalene, so on. Maybe it's to keep people from getting too rigid and focused on the wrong criteria. 'Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.' So what should matter is not so much their gender, but whether God has brought the heart of a leader through a person.

Of course, some might say we need an equal amount of women and men pastors, and that has nothing to do with the having the heart of a leader. I think that has more to do with unresolved gender division and a tendency to see a role as validation. Jesus set the example for leaders by putting on a towel and washing everyone's feet -- you don't need a title to lead in this way.

Neh I just think bro's don't care much about it. Don't have to worry that they kill you. We sisters won't either. We're very nice sisters.

Deborah
Aquila taught a man with her husband but was not a pastor oh wait or was it Priscilla

Women be quiet was because they had a fedge and the men sat at one side and the women at the other and Paul wanted some order, not women yelling to their husband at the other side of the fence: What does he mean?

Corrie ten Boom proves that God uses women to teach.

But for the rest I dunno.

I was just curious... your reply is spot on... In my opinion it's great... ANYONE who has the skills to be a teacher of the Word should be! I know Catholics are just now coming around to the idea of female priests....and since we all had the same starting point...
