1. Manipulating people into the Kingdom through the use of half-truths.

2. Scaring people into the Kingdom through preaching hell.

3. Indoctrinating people into the Kingdom by binding them up in rules and rituals.

4. Hammering home the gospel at all costs by instituting the 'ends justify the means' philosophy.

5. Mistaking the preaching of the avoidance of hell, for loving your neighbor.

6. Mistaking tolerance with agreement.

7. Forgetting to implement the same Grace (suspending your judgment) God gives us, for our neighbors.

8. Substituting rudeness for conviction.

9. Substituting tracts for relationships.

10. Being more concerned about doctrinal accuracy than sanctification of the heart.

Instead of trying to control the witnessing process, we need to develop a relationship with people and give God room to work.

Amen!

I hate the attitude that someone's salvation depends on us, and that we have to do this and that method for them to be saved. Christ is supposed to work through us to give us the timeing and most importantly the words to guide them into Christianity. Pray pray pray and make sure your heart is right with God before you say anything reguarding salvation to others. Relying solely on "salvation methods" is like going into a battle with no armor except a wooden sword you practice with. Make yourself wise and know key verses of salvation- dont assume that everyone is the same or gets saved because of something you did or said.

I believe that if God wants someone saved, if you couldn't bring yourself to guide someone to the faith He'd just send someone else to save that person. Be God-lead! No one is going to be convicted or want to change their life by someone not genuine!

Sanctification of the heart by Jesus is what saves, not doctrine

I'm not quite sure how just yet, but I am anticipating someone arguing one of your points here. I sir, cannot.

Great post, back to the basics.
