I get bored really easy and I do want to serve Christ everyday. But I get bored really easy and end up wanting to do my own thing (Like write my book) Am I allowed to do that as long as I try to keep Christ in mind? I have a very one tracked mind. Or do you think the situation will get better the longer I stay with Christ?

Well, I just feel I should spend more time with Christ. I try to incorporate God into my writing so I'm doing both. I'm just worried that I should be thinking of God all the time.

“When He [God] talks of their losing their selves, He means only abandoning the clamour of self-will; once they have done that, He really gives them back all their personality, and boasts (I am afraid, sincerely) that when they are wholly His they will be more themselves than ever.”

“The man who truly and disinterestedly enjoys any one thing in the world, for its own sake, and without caring two-pence what other people say about it, is by that very fact forewarmed against some of our subtlest modes of attack.”

C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters

(In case you don't know about the book, it is a letter- conversation between two demons)

Boredom is an expectation to do only what others ask you to do. Either get over it or come and clean my entire house. :)

There are different ways to serve God besides praying or reading your Bible. God gave us spiritual gifts and many other blessings. He wants us to use them.

Some people sing hymns, others dance in joy, some write books, some feed the hungry, others comfort the afflicted, some care for the sick, widows, or orphans, some visit people in prison...

None is better than another, if they do it for God's glory and to show His love.

I get bored, too. I see nothing wrong with having clean fun. It's hard to believe the Lord would want it any other way.
