My obedience to God and His word is out of LOVE and reverence for Him - nothing more, nothing less.

Please read this testimony of these true Christian believers. Can you testify that you are like them? Have you lost all fear of death? Can you take physical and verbal abuse from people - like these Christians did - and not have any anger towards them at all?

"Wesley was on a ship bound for America that also carried a number of Moravian missionaries. He was challenged by their great seriousness and their humility in performing for other passengers the most servile tasks, which none of the English passengers would do. When they were offered pay for this, they refused, replying that ‘it was good for their proud hearts,' and ‘ their loving savior had done more for them.' Some of the passengers abused them terribly, even striking them or knocking them down, but they would never strike back or even take offense. Many perceived these German missionaries as cowards until a great storm broke over the ship. As the main sail split and the sea began to pour into the ship, the English panicked, their terrified screams rising even above the tumult of the storm. Yet the Moravians sat quietly, singing their hymns. Afterwards, when one of the Moravians was asked if he was afraid during the storm, he answered ,'I thank God, no.' Then he was asked if their women and children were afraid, and he replied,' No; our women and children are not afraid to die.' Wesley recorded this in his diary and added:' From them ( the Moravians ) I went to their crying trembling neighbors, and pointed out to them the difference in the hour of trial, between him that feareth God, and him that feareth not. At twelve the wind fell. This was the most glorious day which I have hitherto seen.'"

If you are like them, then you have a living faith in God. If you are not like them, you are still lacking faith.

Sorry if I confused you with my answers.

To your first point. I can only (sorry to be repetetive) refer you again to Rom3:31 and Rom6:14. I completely agree we should not sin. But if the Bible is a truthful book, we sin far less by dying to the law and living by faith in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. If this is not true, the Bible cannot be a completely truthfiul book, surely?
Let me ask you this, if we do what Christ commands us to do, are we wrong?

I admit I do not that well know the OT, your knowledge will be greater than mine. Were all of Jesus commands to us in the Beatitudes written in the OT?
Jesus is the AUTHOR of the OT. When he was walking this earth and teaching, He was teaching FROM the OT. There was no NT then.

You quoted James2:10

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

As part of the law is thou shalt not murder. If we make a slip and are thereby guity of breaking all of the law in God's eyes, are we not therefore under that verse seen as murderers. That is my view on it.
Yes we are ... but we have an advocate who intercedes for us.

I don't quite understand the slam dunk. If we loved God with all our heart, body, soul and mind and loved others as ourselves, according to Jesus words we would always uphold the law. But we don't always uphold it. Therefore we can say we fulfill these two commandments, but in effect we do not.
see my previous answers on this.

That is the place where Paul the Apostle was before Christ met him on the road to Damascus, or where the Disciples were before Pentecost. Peter was a very proud man, proud of his holiness walking in Christ's company. It was only after he betrayed Jesus that he came to an end to himself, realizing his inability to be righteous by his own efforts.
Quest, I am trying very hard to be patient with your constant judgemental comments. I intimated in a previous post that I take cognicence of the fact that you are judging me. Now I would like to point out that I would appreciate it if you could please STOP your judgemental comments.

The fact that I LOVE God with all my heart and soul, and am obedient to HIM out of love has clearly slipped by you, I can see. I don't want to make an issue out of this, but if you continue to launch judgements on my walk with Christ, I will refrain from answering any of your posts.

I think this is fair, what do you think?

I'm closing this thread. I think we're going in enough circles to keep us dizzy for eternity here. Time to cool off a bit.
