I am not a Catholic basher but there are some serious differences between the doctrine and tradition that is coming out of the Vatican and what the bible instructs. Question is who hs the higher authority? The bible claims it does, and the Pope - the Vicar of Christ believes he does. mmm that would make me worry right there...
The everyday, standard catholic believer is usually not even aware of what is believed at the higher levels of the Catholic hierarchy. Which follows suit due to the fact that the Cathoilic Church upper levels are in fact Freemason, and therefore Luciferian is belief and practice. These following differences between Catholic tradition and scripture are only minor compared to just the minor ones that i usually hear debated... But if the catholic higher orders are in fact Freemason, then we have a REAL problem. Because it is common knowledge that freemason declare Lucifer as the true son of God and that Jesus is an imposter. Like i said, im not a catholic (standard pew warming believer) basher, i love Catholics, new ager's, atheists. Cant help but love people when u have God inside of you! but what i dont love is the institutions of this earth that enslave people and torture and oppress, removing them from the grace and life of Jesus Christ. God hates these things too. This is not a Cathoic/ Protestant thing, God has moved on a great deal since the reformation. Its about freedom in Christ, and the ability to know Him, intimately, and walk in the power of the age to come - like Jesus taught. CATHOLIC TRADITION - Call priests father, e.g., Father McKinley. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Forbidding the priesthood to marry. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - 1) It is devilish to forbid God's people to marry when He has given marriage to be received with thanksgiving.* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Mary never had other children after the Lord Jesus. A perpetual virgin. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Mary and Joseph indeed had children. They were the Lord's half brothers and sisters for their father was Joseph and mother was Mary. Matthew* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Mary is the queen of heaven. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Worshipping the queen of heaven (which is not the Mary of the Bible) is worshipping another god and it provokes the Lord to anger. Jeremiah* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Mary is the mother of God. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Mary is the mother of the earthly Jesus, not God. Jesus pre- existed from everlasting as God (see John 1:1). When He came to redeem mankind, He laid aside His glory and was made like unto sinful man so that He could take our punishment (Hebrew 2:9). God has no mother. He has lived from everlasting which means He had no beginning. Isaiah* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Pope called Holy Father. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - The term Holy Father is only found one time in the entire Bible. It was when Jesus prayed before He and His disciples went to the garden of Gethsemane. He referred to God the Father as Holy Father. It is blasphemy to call a man by God's name John* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Purgatory, nuns, popes. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - None of these is mentioned in the Bible. It is a sin to add to the Bible. Proverbs* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Venerating/worshipping images. Pope bows to statues of Mary, people worship the eucharist and have statues/candles in their homes and churches. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - It is idolatry to venerate images. We are not even supposed to make them. Exodus* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - The mass. Through transubstantiation, the wafer/host and the wine supposedly become the actual blood and body of Jesus Christ when the priest prays over them. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Jesus died once for sins, never to be repeated. He sits on the right hand of God and does not reappear in the mass as a mass of blood and flesh. Hebrews* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Saved, in part, by good works. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Good works are the fruits that grow out of being saved. They do not make you saved. An apple does not make its tree an apple tree, it was already an apple tree before any apples appeared. When you see the apples; however, you know what kind of tree it is. If a person is saved, he will shew forth good works because he has the spirit of Christ in him. The good works don't make him saved only the blood of Jesus can do that. I JohnWhat about James 2:20 "faith without works is dead"? The kind of faith that saves is a faith that shows forth the works of God. Even devils believe in Jesus and tremble (James 2:19). Many people believe in Jesus but they won't follow Him. They have a faith, but not the kind that saves. If a person has true faith in Jesus, the Holy Ghost dwells in him and will cause good works will show forth in his life. The good works confirm the faith by which the person was saved. James 2:21-23 uses Abraham as an example. Abraham believed God so when God asked him to sacrifice his son Isaac, Abraham, out of his faith in God, offered up Isaac. * * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - The church is founded on Peter. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - Jesus Christ is the foundation of the church. Peter was a man like you and me. Jesus called Peter Satan in Matthew 16:23 when Peter rebuked Jesus dying. When Cornelius tried to worship Peter, Peter responded, "Stand up; I myself also am a man." (Acts 10:26). The pope needs to remember Acts 10:26 when he has men bowing to him and kissing his hand like he is worthy of worship. 1 Corinthians* * * * CATHOLIC TRADITION - Confessing sins to a priest. Petitioning saints and Mary. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - We are to confess our sins and needs to God alone. I John* * * * There are many other scriptures that could have been used here to testify against the doctrines of the catholic religion. There are also many other doctrines of the catholic religion which could have been refuted (e.g. the sacraments, receiving the Holy Ghost, salvation through the catholic religion, penance, rosary, etc.). * * * * The Catholic religion has a history of taking the money of poor widows in order to say masses for the dead (which do no good) and collecting the material possessions of nuns. In Italy, the heart of Roman Catholicism, there is a saying that goes, "Without money, they don't sing the mass." That trickery is evil on a number of fronts--1) the mass is blasphemous and dishonours the finished work of Christ 2) people who trust in the mass waste their money and go to hell 3) their survivors waste their money and possessions having masses said for the dead 4) the survivors go to hell and then their survivors pay for masses...the costumed curia have subverted whole houses for centuries on end collecting wealth of the coffers of the Roman Catholic institution 5) the doctrine of purgatory is a heresy because there is no such thing as purgatory--it is not in the Bible and (the apocrypha is not part of the Bible, it is a collection of spurious books) and 6) they blaspheme God when they put a monetary price on the gift of God because the Bible teaches that the gift of God is without price. I've heard it said that the Roman Catholic institution is the wealthiest government in the world. It owns a good share of America's hospitals and has many real estate interests. She has a history of collecting lands and wealth through the ages. One look at her splendor confirms this. The bottom line is, if you want to get right with God, you have to go through His Son, Jesus Christ, according to his word, not the word of man and his traditions.

I suppose it is a good post for comedy effects. But as an effective and accurate depiction of the Catholic view it's not really that good a post.

A lot of Catholics will stop following the Vatican and Pope when they see the big changes that the Vatican and Pope makes which they cannot see so clearly now.
There is a lot of people in the Vatican that talk along the line of New Age religion theology. That is because the Vatcian has been infiltrated and they are trying to change it from within to cause it to be the one world religius system. They are in the Cardinal positions and they will elect a Pope of their choosing to lead the one world religious system. That is why the Vatican is now saying that all religionsa have a core truth and trying to bring all Christian denominations together. It is not the sasme Vatican but they are changing it to become the one world religious system. Russia's former president Vladamir Putin went to the German Parliament with other European nations and said that Russia and Europe need to put aside their differences and offer peace and safety for the world and for themselves. Since the Vatican is Europe's religious institution they have to change it to be compatible with Europe coming together which their constitution would allow for all religions to be practiced. A lot of Catholics will stop following the Vatican and Pope when they can see the big changes more clearly. Matt Last edited by mpaper345; March 23rd, 2010 at 04:50 PM. |

Oy. Seriously, even Paul recognized that the Greeks had a bit of the Truth in their beliefs, else they wouldn't have made an altar to an "Unknown god". There's nothing wrong with recognizing said echoes of the Truth in other religions. In fact, it is often helpful to use that small bit of Truth in their views to help them come to the fullness of Truth which is found through Christ. One merely needs to look to the pages of history to see this in action.
For example, my own ancestors in Korea were followers of Confucious, who was known for his teachings on law and order and harmony. When they learned of the teachings of Jesus, they thought that this was a worthy addition to their Confucian beliefs. And they attempted to become Christians of a sort. But after a while they realized that they needed more understanding. So they sent out messengers to the closest Christians they knew of asking for bibles and priests to teach them to be Christians properly. In a sense, the sliver of truth found in Confucian teachings helped the Korean people to be open to the teachings of Christ Our Lord. And consequently, the Lord helped them to seek out a fuller understanding of Christianity. This small spark of Christians perservered through times of great persecution throughout the centuries. And now, if one looks at Korea, you will see that the Christian faith is growing dramatically. Now I'm not saying that we need to all merge Confucian teachings with Christian teachings. But I am saying that we should recognize the good in other religious views in order to help them come to know Christ, who is the ultimate source of all that is Good. After all, the Scriptures tell us that the laws of God are written in the hearts of men. If you read the writings of Pope Benedict XVI, you'll see that he is very Christ centered in his works. One of his earlier works is called "Truth and Tolerance" and discusses how we can be respectful of other religious views, and still not compromise our views that Jesus is Lord and is THE way to salvation. It is quite scholarly, but it is also very well researched and filled with references to the Scriptures. The idea that Pope Benedict would somehow allow the Catholic Church to merge with Judaism or Islam or Hinduism is laughable. He is devoted to Christ Our God and has given his life to serving Jesus.

[quote] First of all, Benny-16 said that the RCC has THE EXCLUSIVE to Salvation and that others are "disfunctional". (It's only in Christ and for the Jews first, then the Gentiles) So much for being respectful of other religious views. Second, "Jesus is Lord and is THE way to salvation"? He said in a quote in an article in 1985 that Mary (not Jesus) is THE "remedy" of understanding the Church when to better understand Christianity is to understand Judaism. Jesus was a Jew. His followers were Jews. They wrote the Gospels for the Jews. Jesus fulfilled the role of the Messiah that the Jews were waiting for. Catholics are beautiful people. Just misguided. |
