'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgement than for you.' Matt 11:21-22

I think it means salvation, since they did repent. The other option doesn't make any sense. Less flame? : p

People don't like to think of God as a vengeful God, news flash He is, but for the, right reasons. If you saw your child beaten and killed in front of you, would you not be angry? If those who did it were your creations that you had made would that not make you angrier still?

Jesus gave us a parable of the man who planted a vineyard and let it out. I am sure you know the one, Jesus, after asked His disciples what would happen to the tenants who had killed his son. This parable leads us to the scenario we have now, the original tenants were evicted, the Jews so that we, the gentiles, would have the opportunity of salvation.

This in turn leads to all sorts of whys and wherefores. But within this the Jews have suffered terribly over the centuries for their refusal to accept Jesus as the Christ, and from AD70 when the Romans obliterated the temple and the nation of Israel was taken into captivity as slaves, until even now.

The towns and villages that Jesus passed through on His ministry or more the inhabitance of those places had within their midst and on their streets the 'Son of God' yet they chose to reject Him, WOW! It is quite a sobering thought that if this could happen to them, what could happen to us if we turn our backs on Him and make His sacrifice of no importance?
