Any man from any religion can preach that we ought to be good. Even the most evil men in this world can preach good behavior from the pulpit. However, only a very few righteous men actually tell us how we might live a victorious life, because only those few actually know how.

However, the reason the people keep coming back to these false churches is because they are told what the flesh wants to hear. Their flesh wants to be self-righteous before God and these people get their pep talk and go on with their battle. Either that or people are so content to remain in their sin that they love comparing the good in themselves to what the pastor preaches so that they think they are on the narrow way to life,

Although it pains me to say it, I completely agree with what you say. I believe many who preach do not understand how true victory is achieved, and some are afraid of the persecution they would get if they did preached it.
One verse keeps coming to my mind and I believe says much on this subject.

Not having a righteousness of my own(self righteousness) that comes from the law, but that which is by faith in Christ. The righteousness that is from God and comes by faith. Phil3:9
How to live a victorious life, I guess if you follow Paul's example that would be by explaining the love displayed by God in the heart of the Gospel which is while we were still sinners Christ died for us. So preach the cross, and the cross, and the cross. If that kind of love doesn't move those who have been moved by God, what will?

Just humble yourself and agree. I've gotta be right sometimes, correct and incorrect are a 50/50 coin flip afterall! ;)

I only meant 'it pains me to say it' because it is sad that many churches are as you describe. Hope your doing OK

I would be interested to know if people believe from reading the New Testament whether they believe it is comprehensively preached in the church they belong to. Or do you sometimes feel that parts of the Bible message you have read in scripture are not preached from the pulpit
I think my pastor does a pretty good job.

I would go even further than preaching the full gospel. How many churches actually live the full gospel? Live like Christian families, as the Bible says we are?

In my old church, we showered at each-other's homes if necessary, people you never met before from a different assembly group were welcome to come and stay in your home. You traveled together and stayed in other people's homes. You cooked and ate together often. You spent hours working on each-other's property for any work that was needed being done.

Where is that in today's churches? I don't see it. If that kind of Christian family is non-existent, why should we expect the preaching to be on key?

I don’t think there are perfect churches, though some are probably better than others. Different people have different amounts of time to devote to church work. Single people like you and me can devote ourselves to the church, while parents have to devote a lot of time to their families. One thing I don’t like to see in churches is social climbing.

It also pops into my mind that some people spend a lot of time earning a modest living. I work eight hours on my job and then try to do some writing at home to earn some extra money, since I don’t have a lot of money.

Well, if you were so busy working in my church, the women would come and clean your home for you, or perhaps bring you dinner or have you over for dinner.

If you helped out at someone's house they would feed you as well.

I think you have brought up a valid point question time.... do we as Christian live as a Christian family, or do we just meet on a sunday, or the occassional bible study during the week?
