Yeah.. liked I typed in another thread:

You see in the christian movies being made. like Do You Believe? Or God is Not Dead.. or when Facing the Giants came out.. is a sensational event at the heart of the movie.. a miracle.

God can do miracles.. He can do them today.. but when the miracle becomes the whole reason for having faith.. for the whole movie message.. well.. that isn't something that you can see happening all the time.

Miracles were rare in the bible times.. in the NT. Jesus did them for very particular purposes.. never random.. and so did the disciples and apostles for very particular reasons.. never random.

In the movie Do You Believe? A whole key part of the movie was the miracle of a man being bought back to life from the dead.. happening close to the end of the movie.

This became the whole central thrust.. when really.. there are many many many many faithful christians who NEVER see a miracle their whole lives (by miracle .. I mean 100 instant healing or miraculous event from God.. not a baby being born or a plant synthesising the suns rays)

It's not that those christians don't have enough faith..aren't following God. .some of them are deeply loving followers of Jesus.

The point is.. it is not the sensational.. or amazing miracles and wonders that are faith is based on.

We have the completed Bible.. God's Word fully. Rely on that.. and God works with us thru the Holy Spirit speaking to us through His Word.

The sensationalist.. will boast about this and that.. get all excited and worked up.. go out for a night or two all revved up.. then go home and drop like a stone in mental stability.

The faithful christian will quietly do their bible study individually.. go to bible study with friends or a home group during the week.. attend their church and fellowship etc.. all without anything sensational.. no miracles happening.. no great signs and wonders..

Yet God is happy with them most.

Truthfully, the only movie I've seen that you mentioned is God is not Dead. I thought it was a little to polarizing and sappy, but otherwise not too bad. But I don't recall any miracles in it. Did I miss something? (And, I could have. I've been known to watch a movie several times before a really obvious thing hits me and makes me go, "Oh, how did I miss that all these times?")

Our faith should not be in words that mans wisdom teaches, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power...

Having said that...signs should follow real believers .real believers should not follow after signs.

Yes probably not God is not Dead. Now I reflect on it.

I just see it a lot where someone will bring up something sensational and everyone else is meant to go with it. E.g.' I know the Lord because I visited heaven and came back from the dead!'

The unstable believer buys into it, no questions. The stable believer goes to their bible and checks it out.

This is the best writing I've seen on this topic yet. Hope it will bless and enlighten.

Lying Signs and Wonders - What The Bible Says
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

He put in his title, even the elect will be deceived, but the elect cannot be deceived, for they are the elect.

Jesus did not say the elect will be deceived, which would be some of them, for even if someone would say the elect can be deceived, they would not believe all of them, but He said it would deceive even the elect,if it were possible, which Jesus is saying it is not possible for the elect to be deceived, but the lying wonders, and miracles, will appear so real that the elect will say wow, that looks authentic, but the elect knows it is a lie,for they are the elect.

The false prophet will do lying wonders, and miracles,in the sight of people,to prove to the world, that the first beast gave him this power, for the Bible says he gets his power from the first beast, and the beast can share this power with the world,if they take the mark of the beast, and confess there is no personal God to help them, but mankind can solve their problems, and achieve peace,by technology, and people's devices, which the mark of the beast has to do with technology, people's inventions.
