perhaps since our Christian view is based on nothing less than the Bible, it wouldn't change a thing.

what do you think? :)
I am not sure I agree. We, as christians, have two books - the book of Scripture and the book of nature (the reality of world we are living in).

Well, I dont know, if it would change anything, thats why I am opened to read some opinions from other christians :)

I think the discovery of another life form out there would change some peoples views but others would probably just post
something in the conspiracy forum to refute it.

Our microwave at work has other forms of life growing in it.

Us women are fed up with cleaning it. :D

You could be right, but as long as some still believe in a flat earth it may be some time before ''they'' will admit to it if ever.
Back in the 1930s a Radio adaptation of the War of the Worlds was broadcast and there was a panic in the US because people believed it was a news broadcast of a Martian invasion.

Did God created only one, the best one world or all possible worlds with all possible combinations of good/evil?
Would it change anything in our christian view/theology?
German astronomers have estimated the universe to be 156 billion light years wide and they thing that there are possibly several or many universes like this one. I like to meditate about the universe so as to have a slight idea of how immense and majestic God is.

God made space big enough foreknowing how far mankind would go. No, there might be life out there in the form of germs, but there are no aliens, no souls. The bible says for God so loved the world (singular) not worlds (plural). Aside from this, we are to preach the gospel to everyone. There is no way the early church could take the gospel to other planets.

Are you talking worlds or multiverses? Later on you're the one who explained the differences.

What do I think? I think it's something like speculating over tribbles. It's not covered in the Bible, it may or may not exist, but if it does exist, it really doesn't matter -- theologically speaking or even just because I like small furry critters. It has nothing to do with what God told us about himself, and we'll never know the answer in this lifetime.

Does God not love his stars? Because it doesn't say "for God so loved the sun" either.

And there is no particular reason anyone from this planet would ever have to go to another planet to preach the gospel there either. If God so chose to create another planet with other beings on it, he'd go himself first, just like he did here. I really don't know if there is or isn't life out there, but I'm fine with that. God has it covered either way. He never did need Man.

I dont know about Star Trek, but the multiverse is quite a hot top theory in a cosmology these days
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf7BXwVeyWw

Some atheists are trying to use this hypothesis as the explanation for fine-tuning of our universe for life, for example.
Oh, it's a biggy in the vast majority of sci-fi TV. Got it in Stargate and Fringe too. (Kind of bored with it, because you can almost guarantee that plotline is coming again and again. Let's just say there is a divide in a universe every time we make a decision. Then, if I hopped over to the next universe exactly what are the chances I'd fine me -- evil-me or good-me -- each and every time? Surely one of us would decide to stay home today. And yet, they always run into their alter-egos.)

OK, I will clarify my question a little bit.

Multiverse theory propose, that our universe created in the Big Bang event is not the only one existing, but is only one from the infinite number of other universes with the wide variety of conditions, living forms, evil/good etc.

Neither galaxy nor a planet nor a dimension is "universe". All this is existing inside of the universe.
And it's just that mate, a theory. It doesn't fit in with the Truth of God because it's just a theory, possible it may be but at the end of the day, it means nothing, we have this life now, on this planet, in this system, within the galaxy in this universe.

How can universe be 156 billion light years wide, when it came to being 13.7 billion years ago and nothing can travel faster than light?
So to every direction after Big Bang the space can be wide only 13.7 billion years max, when we sum up two different directions together, 27 billion light years max.
