GOD gives us a robe to wear to cover our nakedness. When we walk in it, he only sees Christ's righteousness. If we don't, he sees everything.

So does God not remember even though someone hasn't repented of sin? Or does the Christian need to repent of sin before God chooses to forget?

What does the scripture say? For the Christian - the answer is yes..but for those not believing in Christ - the wrath of God remains on them. I know what we have been taught differently from some of our religious upbringings.

Sometimes it's hard to think like our loving God thinks. All Christians should change their thinking ( repent ) towards anything that is destructive which of course all sin is and learn to walk in the new creation is Christ created in righteousness and holiness
.

But if we miss a sin of which we all do - this will not be remembered against us when we get to heaven. The blood of Jesus testifies to our redemption. We often don't even confess the real sin. If I steal something - it is a sin for sure. But the real sin behind the confessed sin is that I don't trust my Father to provide for me.

You may stop sinning as far as stealing goes but are we still sinning when we worry about being taken care of by God? Man looks outwardly at things God looks on the heart.

This is and will always be the scandal of the gospel of the grace of Christ and is a stumbling block to our religious mindsets and man-made traditions
.

The gospel message is that we have the forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ for those who believe and receive it.

John 1:29 (NASB)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Hebrews 8:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE."

Hebrews 10:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."

[SUP]18 [/SUP] Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Romans 4:6-8 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

[SUP]7 [/SUP] "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.

[SUP]8 [/SUP] "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT."

In Acts we see the gospel message being preached by Peter and Paul - the word for word message that was preached. In these cases the message of the gospel is the forgiveness of sins for all those who believe in what Christ has done.

Here is Peter's gospel message. The entire message is in Acts 10:34-48

Acts 10:43 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

Here is the word for word gospel message from Paul in Acts 13:16-41

Acts 13:38-39 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,
[SUP]39 [/SUP] and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

If we would learn to walk in our forgiveness we would lead a very holy and righteous life empowered by the life of Christ in and through us. See 2 Peter 1:9

We have now the righteousness of God in Christ. It's important for believers to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ and what He ahs already done for us.

Romans 5:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Romans 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 8:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 9:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

Romans 10:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For with the heart manbelieveth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 14:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For the kingdom of God ( Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within you..He might know a thing or two ) is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? ( here the believer is called righteousness and light )

Galatians 2:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly." ( righteousness is a gift - you do not earn it being doing good )

Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Ephesians 4:24 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ok..that's enough..there are tons more

Looking over the 7 Churches in Revelation He seems to remember quite well...

Revelation 2:4 KJVS
[4] Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Revelation 2:14-16 KJVS
[14] But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. [15] So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. [16] Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 2:20,22-23 KJVS
[20] Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. [22] Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. [23] And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Revelation 3:3,15-16 KJVS
[3] Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

[15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

God's correction is not indicative of holding sins against us as in being unforgiven. He's simply correcting our behavior so that we can grow up in Christ.

In some cases Jesus was talking to unbelievers in the churches as He said in Matt 13 - there are tares and wheat growing together. To this day we have believers and unbelievers in the same church. There are false teachers and prophets with the true believers too.

He loves them and wants them to repent and come to Him. Some of Jesus'
words are for those that do not know Him yet.

Here is some great based teachings on Revelation and the people in them when John wrote the book.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge ofhim that called us [SUP][a][/SUP]by his own glory and virtue;

[SUP]4 [/SUP]whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of [SUP][b][/SUP]the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge;

[SUP]6 [/SUP]and in your knowledge self-control; and in your self-control [SUP][c][/SUP]patience; and in your [SUP][d][/SUP]patience godliness;

[SUP]7 [/SUP]and in your godliness [SUP][e][/SUP]brotherly kindness; and in your [SUP][f][/SUP]brotherly kindness love.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For he that lacketh these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. (He has forgotten that he was cleansed.)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never stumble:

[SUP]11 [/SUP]for thus shall be richly supplied unto you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In times past as a believer I did not believe all my sins were forgiven as far as the east is from the west., nor that my righteousness was a gift I received when I got saved, but instead a work I had to continue to add to., it was then the truth of grace was not played out in my life. It is then that I lived in the fall out of "falling from grace" Daily experiencing LACK.

It takes a (daily remembering) to believe this kind of truth. It takes the Holy Spirit to keep this mind set before us. To change from walking by sight to walking after things not YET seen. I must (repent) of the tendency to think as a natural man., who counts sins against them (and others). Having a mind renewed daily., to actually walk in this truth of thinking the way God thinks.

Another side note worth mentioning here is why so many Christians judge sooo harshly another brother who is perceived to not be walking well. We cannot GIVE what we do not believe we have ourselves.

When this truth of Jesus IS believed..... All things become new., all things are possible. There is no limit to what God will do in and through the one who believes. His love is never brought into question and His watch care will never stop.

And I see that each believer is responsible to believe this in order for it to be true in their lives. If we don't believe it., we won't walk in it. If the truth is going to set people free, they have to first know it and then believe it personally.

So the biggest challenge today for me is not the bills getting paid., or the dr. report to be favorable., it's not surviving possible bad news. What the challenge today is in order to be at peace, in order to be successful, in order to do anything for Jesus and those He puts in my path; is to believe Jesus is my righteousness....... that our sins and lawless deeds He remembers no more.

This IS a ministry Jesus has to us. "He lives after the power of a endless life" So because of Him., I'm well and will continue to be. But when I believe I am well because
I did well, I will live as the natural man lives. Will go as far as the natural man goes and not see Jesus do far and above what I could ask or think. I won't see miracles and I won't see healing or His hand moving obstacles from my life. I won't even believe that is part of what Jesus does in the life of a believer today.

The reason the church is not powerful in some communities is because the Christians only live as best they can. He has more for us but we are living only as best as we can. We are getting by and surviving but not living the abundant life.
