The Lord commanded us to repent:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

Indeed, he told us we needed to be perfect:

You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matt 5:48 RSV

It’s interesting how some Christians are hard at work trying to obey, while others are constantly making excuses why they aren’t.

I suspect you got really annoyed with the bickering on here too, huh?

I hear you, but I also know when I'm really angry with someone(s) I think my hearing goes down exponentially. I can't hear anything but my own angry.

I'm new to trying not to do that. Kind of like not-smoking right now. The only ways I know how to do that is seek God and avoid the triggers. 101 people mad at each other is just 101 people not listening to anything but their own angry. We can't change anything, but God can.

I hear several people on here lately saying pretty much what you're saying. Maybe we can pray for God to change us and others together. At least we can help with self. We can only pray for others. Then again, is that really an "only?" I see God doing some really amazing things lately.

Can't you just see if God answers yes, suddenly everyone thinks they changed themselves though?

If this does nothing else, at least you know one person heard you. (And yeah, I read your other posts. Just picked the newest one realizing you're really trying to get someone's attention in hopes it changes one person's mind.)

No, it isn’t the bickering. That’s been going on since the day I joined. There was an insulting post that apparently was directed at me that I didn’t appreciate. Some people like to poke fun at things they don’t understand.

There's always going to be different kinds of Christians. I think it depends on the type of person you are, and that determines your Christian walk, at least in the beginning. But, Christ can and does change you, if you're sincerely wanting Him to. For example, if your nature is is to be very disciplined in life, your Christian walk will reflect obedience and commitment. If your nature is to be rather undisciplined, your walk will reflect your lack of commitment and obedience. An uncommitted Christian will not go to church, will indulge in worldly pleasures, will not pray or read the Bible. There's going to be different kinds of Christians, because of the differences in personality and behavior, and how determined one is to live a committed life for Christ..or not. But praise God, as Jesus can take a life that's so wrong and transform it into a life that's so right, if you really want Him to.
