Cool What do bears mean in the bible?

I had a vision about a bunch of skinny bears all running.

I know skinny means famine. I was thinking maybe it was America but I don't know.

    Thank you!

Visions are literal in meaning. Dreams are metaphorical. Do you live in an area in which there is wildlife in the form of bears? If so, are they starving? Pray and ask God for more understanding.

A bear is generally a symbol of power. In the Bible it is used of Persia, because of the great strength that they had at the time. That strength was also seen in the incorporation of the paws of the bear in the Beast of Revelation.

There's a passage where Elisha curses some children and God sends a bear to maul them. It's supposed to symbolize something but I forget... perhaps looking up that passage will help you.

Bear is widely thought to be Russia. You might have some russians coming into your life, hungry ones at that. What they are hungry for I cant tell you but it could represent something other than food.

Thank you to the ones who really tried to help. The world is falling apart and some of you will be clowing around at the coming of the Lord I guess. The Lord calls it being asleep. Or laughing, drinking and being merry doing your own thing instead of watching for when he comes.
    God bless you all.

In fairness though, if it is a dream, don't read too much into it. There's a verse that tells you not to think too much of dreams.

It wasn't a dream. It was a vision from God. Its about the end times we are in right now. Its a warning about whats coming. I'm not worried thank you. I know all kinds of terrible things are coming.
I just like better when he shows me visions that I kinda understand right off. Like if he shows me praying at someones house then I go there and pray and then he tells me the person is going to get this big syst like thing from there cancer and it will burst and hes going to take them home. And the next day the person gets this big syst thing and it burst and the person dies.

    Here's a scripture about bears verse: 11
    Isaiah 59

1 ¶Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9 ¶Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
    12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
16 ¶And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
No longer Giant one or small one, i'm just me.

I've always depended upon the kindness of strangers rallly I have.

    Hi IMOSS
I remember seeing your rock being turned smooth. It made me think that is how God teaches us. By our trials and us learning we get the riugh edges off and turn to a beautiful stone.
Yes the story was true and it happened to me.
I kept getting a vission of me in this mans yard and me praying. I knew the Lord was giving me this man to interseed for him. I was pretty new to learning of god back then. So I went to my pastor. He ignored me. I kept having the vission over and over. I knew I needed to go right away. Since I was pretty new at all this I felt I needed help. I told the ladies at church. So they went with me.
The man had cancer. Only by the cancer did the man except Jesus. I took verses on healings and verses on the mans body was wore out.
I went to where I seen my self in the yard. Another lady came with me. She had did the same and had verses just like me. The rest of the ladies went to other spots in the yard.
Some shooed away devils from the areas where he drank.
After about a hour of praying. We all got together and held hands and prayed more. Then the Lord told me what he was going to do.
His wife was right there and I couldn't say anything.
You know the Lord knows what he is doing. Sometimes we don't understand why God doesn't just heal someone of course we know he can heal.
But what if this man did get healed then started drinking again and fell and forgot about God.
    God knows best.
The bears were running from something. They were older and younger bears. They were running for their lives. I was just standing there watching them. Something was going to kill them. My first thoughts were old and young people. Even children. But I do know revelations talks about bears.
Also right before I seen that vision I seen another. A bunch of saints. All women. With long hair. All standing together. With there backs to me. I don't know what they were facing. They were all very close together. They were dressed in choir robes. The collars were red and v shaped. The gowns were white. I don't know if the were in heaven or on earth.
The bear thing was a warning of the future. The lady thing made me feel good cause there is a few of us ladies standing together agaisnt satan and his workers. I felt like the Lord was telling me there are more standing with us.
The Lord is going to detrone people and powers.
I will let you know if he lets me know.

On a serious note, skinny things could refer to famine.

Didn't one of the OT prophets send bears after his tormentors?

Bears could also refur to the stock market, it could be that the message is that the stock market is not going to get better and will actually worsen.
Not that money is a concern in faith but as christians it is wise to know that we are in the hands of God and that we should not be fooled by faulse reports of an improving economy.
    Just another idea.

You said earlier that this was not just a dream, it was a vision from God. How do you know it was a vision from God? What makes you so sure? I am asking because the Bible clearly tells us to not to believe every spirit, but to test the spirits, to see if they are from God.

(1 John 4:1) Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

have you ever had a vision dane? This did not come from a false prophet in prophesy to Loveschild this came as a vision to a woman who diligently seeks the Lord and his will. Yes we are to test the spirits, when one professing to be instructed by the Holy Spirit to kick someone in the name of healing does this you would test this spirit and know that it is not of God because it is contrary to the Biblical definition of the Holy Spirit. Now correct me if I'm wrong but can Satan overcome the Holy Spirit within? Loveschild is a holy spirit filled woman.
