Some say Freemasons are planning to take over the world, while others say they are just a benevolent fraternal society.
What's the truth about Freemasonry? Can a Christian be a Freemason?

I doubt they intend to take over the world ... but I never trust any group of people that act in secrecy
I'd advice all people, Christian or not, to stay away from it.

A Christian can be a Catholic.Protestant, or Baptist. (Still don't get why Baptists don't think they ever protested, but that doesn't mean they can't be Christians anyway. lol)
A Christian can be a President or Prime Minister of a country or homeless.
A Christian can be a doctor or a janitor.
A Christian can listen to Rock, Rap, or Japanese Opera.
A Christian can join a Temple or an Ashram.
A Christian can eat pork, eel, or fishhead stew.
A Christian can be a soldier or a pacifist.
A Christian can do whatever God has him/her to do just as long as he/she walks in eyes-wide-open to the environment he/she is entering and understand God placed him/her there for his divine reasons.

What's the truth about Freemasonry? IDK. I figure I'll have to learn if God ever tells me to join it.

If they intend on taking over the world, they're really lousy at it. I'd think anyone interested in taking over the world ought to be able to get that done in a lot less time. (I heard George Washington was a Freemason. Not sure if he was one of the originals, but he's been dead for two centuries, and that organization hasn't taken over the world yet. lol)

I think the secrecy of it all is what is not right. I was in the Rainbow Girls over 40 years, which is part of the masons. I was not close to the Lord at that time but had a bad feeling about it after I had been in it awhile. So many rituals and secrets that made absolutely no sense.

Masonic orders are based on man making man better without the assistance of God. They are a secret religion based on humanism.

Yes! I know two Freemasons. While I know little about Freemasonry, I know these men to be very strong men of God. Their lives are a witness for God.

I'm worried about where you are getting your information. Freemasonry is far from an Occult.

Maybe from own experience? I will not answer that one as some research in any way (if you know what occult is) will show and make clear that its occult

He was a Freemason but he wasn't a very active one. He sometimes went 10-15 years between visits to a lodge. There are a lot of masons like that. They get initiated, do some of the degree work and all the basics then just get bored and quit going.

"They do not know what they have gotten themselves into..." :(

I recommend a book that you should give them -- and, any other mason who claims to be a Christian:

MASONRY Beyond The Light by William Schnoebelen

At the very core of Freemasonry - in the "upper echelon" / "higher up" part of the organization - "it is as occult as you can get" -- 'Satan worship' is the true religion of Freemasonry. Only, the members in the "lower" part of the organization are not told this...

Kind of why I've never joined DAR. Sounds boring. lol
