Proverbs 1

4 To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion—
5 A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
6 To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.

lol you see how opinions start throwing words like wimps and judgements to others who may just now be learning to step out of the boat? listen to my words . either respect the thread intended for Gods word to be shared without opinion, or don't participate. no offense intended again, I treid to make this clear in the op. feel free to opinionate any other thread, this is not the proper thread for an argument about what you see or I see or anyone else sees. Jesus said " you are peter, and on this rock I will build my Church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it" that's scripture,

feel free to find anything you wish to express from Gods word. hopefully you are able to be considerate for the sake of other folks who are tired of the constant arguing. that's what this thread is about. Okay friend? easy to see the best choice. do the right thing. that's what its about, no one is teaching anything in this thread except Gods word

excellent word, thank you so much for participating.....in response

matthew 13 :11-16 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

Okay I will respect your thread, but I cannot help but to defend the gospel. It is like fire in my bones. If you want to accept then accept, I will also, but only with change. I see what you are doing, but we are of the same tree. I preach fire and you preach love. I understand but know that love is in the fire.

He didn't build it on Peter, he built it on Himself. This is a big misnomer among the church. Jesus is the rock and the true foundation.

oh don't be sorry lol theres a huige difference in opinionizing and speaking.

pertaining to peter relating to the church

matthew 16:18 "and I tell you, you are peter and on this rock I will build my church" great stuff as usual pilgrim a blessing you bring always to my understanding
The verse before it, is Peter profession of Christ as the Son of God, I dont see Peter as that singular rock, if any apostle is that its Jesus Christ.

Peter is an aposltle he just not THE apostle of our profession, Jesus Christ is counted as THE Apostle of our profession

Heb 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,
consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

He being THE Apostle of our profession, THE chief cornerstone, THE stone of stumbling and THE rock of offense.

Ye are the household of God, the Church

Ephes 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles* and prophets*,
Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

The others are not excluded from the foundation but those are in the pluralness of that foundation

Just makes sense the rock is in them

Paul said, as it pleased God

To reveal his Son/the rock (( in)) me, that I might preach him among the heathen;
immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

For flesh and blood hath not revealed it (Who I am, or "The Christ") unto thee,
but my Father which is in heaven.

For he (the rock, Christ) that wrought effectually (( in )) Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision,
the same (rock, Christ) was mighty (( in )) me toward the Gentiles

The foundation singularly shows Jesus

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.

That which God has laid (( in ))

As it is written, Behold, I lay (( in )) Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence:
and whosoever believeth
on him shall not be ashamed.

As Paul said, it pleased God

To reveal his Son ((in)) me,
