I haven't been in public school for quite a while but even back then astronomy was hardly taught.
I can't imagine it today except from the angle of 'Don't pollute our solar system'.

This may be a reason it is not emphasized as it should...

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
(Rom 1:19-20)

He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.
(Job 26:7)

Psa 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth, Who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens!

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
(Psa 19:1)

By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
(Psa 33:6)

Isa 40:22 It is He who sits above the vault of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

Psa 50:6 And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. Selah.

Jer 10:12 It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom; And by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.

Give little Johnny too close a look at astronomy and he might start doubting his own 'evolutionary existence'.

Public school is no longer school it's the dumbification ( is that a word) of the population, they don't teach they just regulate and common core is just so stupid even mathematicians can't solve the problems.

(i know.... when ppl post videos )

here's a little on evolution i listened to this morning. most of it went over my head (shocker) but in case anyone is interested.

it was interesting that the speaker said today's Darwinists are more adamant about evolution being flawless than Darwin was. :)

Gotten that bad eh?

My understanding is that the universe is 30 billion light years across and may be expanding at that.
So if you were travelling at the speed of light (186,000 mi/sec) it would take you 30,000,000,000 years to get across the universe..
So multiply 186,000 sec X 60(that would give you per minute) X 60 again (per hour) X 24 (per day) X 365.25 (per year) X 30,000,000,000 and you would have the distance across the universe.

Hmm, I can see an Infinite God speaking that into existence...but a few particles of dust??

strange fact, without science, how did we get or see ,pictures of the universe. etc ie god let then discover it. etc

WOW..isn't the universe still expanding at the rate of the speed of light too?

I heard a guy say that he was talking to a Christian astrophysicist and he said something about that fact.

Then the
astrophysicist asked him "Do you know why it is still expanding? Because it isn't big enough yet for our loving Father to show His kindness in grace towards us that are in Christ that He has all planned out for us"

Ephesians 2:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Here is a decent article rather long (several pages worth) by Dr. Jason Lisle.

Why then does the Bible single out the heavens as declaring His glory? Perhaps the heavens declare God’s glory in a special way or to a greater extent. It may even be that the starry universe was specially designed for the purpose of declaring God’s glory to us. We will see that the universe has incredible beauty. This alone would be sufficient reason to praise God for His creation, but not only did God make the universe beautiful, He made it unimaginably large. The range of scales in the universe is truly staggering. The universe contains objects of incredible size and mass at distances which the human mind cannot fully grasp. When we consider the power of the Lord who made all this, we cannot help but feel humbled. Truly, the God who created this universe is glorious and worthy of praise. Let us now explore the size and beauty of the universe to gain an appreciation for the majesty of the Creator.

Revelation:11
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

Hahaha well I forgot three more comets, asteroids, meteors :)

And now there are space satellites falling down too. I saw a Russian one fall one time a few years ago and it looked like a shooting star in slow motion and it was going with the horizon too and not straight down like a shooting star.
