First, it's the twelve tribes of Israel. Secondly this is kind of a tricky question.

Israel aka Jacob had 12 sons.

Reuben
Simeon
Levi
Judah
Dan
Gad
Naftali
Issachar
Zebulun
Asher
Joseph
Benjamin

But when counting the tribes, Joseph is not mentioned. Rather we have the names of Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who are each counted as half tribes.

So there are 13 names but 12 tribes

Reuben
Simeon
Levi
Judah
Dan
Gad
Naftali
Issachar
Zebulun
Asher
Ephraim/Manasseh (Joseph)
Benjamin

Levi did not get a section of land. But they did get cities within the land of others.

They're in Israel, when they were carried away they were relatively close to Israel. And when they were given permission to return they most likely did. And there were only 2 tribes in Judah, 10 in Israel when the Kingdom was divided.

If you're referring to where they are now, the only tribe we know for sure that still exists is the tribe of Judah. Which is where we get the name "Jews". The other tribes are completely lost and no longer have any Israelite heritage. When Christ returns though, the first order of business is to gather all peoples of the lost tribes and bring them together. Israel will once again be fully Israel. If a man or woman marries an Israelite they become an Israelite by default. So there are Israelites in the world, they just don't have their heritage...yet.

Interestingly enough, in Revelation the twelve tribes were modified. Dan and Ephraim were dropped and Joseph becomes a full tribe, even though Manassah remains a tribe.
