John Wycliffe (1380s), used the spelling Ihesus, and also used Ihesu ('J' was then a swash glyph variant of 'I', not considered to be a separate letter until much later) in oblique cases, and also in the accusative, and sometimes, apparently without motivation, even for the nominative. Tyndale in the 16th century has the occasional Iesu in oblique cases and in the vocative; The 1611 King James Version uses Iesus throughout, regardless of syntax. Jesu came to be used in English, especially in hymns.

just not trusting in a lousy English translation of His name.

Yes disciplemike you are correct, the Messiah was Jewish and his name in the Hebrew is Yeshua Hamashiach, and the Greek transliteration is ieous Christos and in English the transliteration is Jesus Christ. All three names are referring to the One who left heaven and kinned himself to us in the flesh, lived a life without sin and paid the penalty for sin, was buried, resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father. What is your problem? Why are you so legalistic about everything?

Trust has nothing to do wth it. We are English speaking people, and we speak and write in the English language. And Jesus is His name in the English language.

If you consider all the Christians in the world of different races and languages, why is it that the name of Jesus in its many different forms still works to heal the sick, cast out demons, make the blind see, deaf hear, and so on? The name sounds completely different in each of the different languages but still the same authority is present. If the name Jesus was improper why does the Lord still honor prayers in that name?
