2 Corinthians 5:21 (amp)

He made Christ who knew no sin to (judicially) be sin on our behalf, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God (that is we would be made acceptable to him and placed in a right relationship with him by his gracious loving kindness)

So, if we believe in the bible to be the living word of God then we believe this scripture to say that Jesus was made sin for us.. all of us... Every single one of our sins was on him.. right? If every single one of our sins was on him then what does that make us ? Sinless maybe ? Of course! How can Jesus be made sin for us to then have us battle with it everyday?? Does God need to send Jesus back everytime we sin or did he cry out "IT IS FINISHED"?

Brothers and sisters.. This verse tells us that because of Jesus we are made righteous in the eyes of our father.. The word righteous in the original Hebrew text comes from the word "tssaddiq" it means blameless- innocent - just- one in the right.

If we allow this truth to sink into our hearts it will change everything.. The truth is that there is NOTHING that we can do to be accepted by God but to believe in the name of Jesus.. Everything he is became everything we are.. Not the minute we accepted him but the minute he rose again.. It has all been done for the whole of mankind, it's just they don't know it yet..

This my brothers and sisters is the true Gospel of grace.. Jesus Christ and him crucified all because of love... the fathers love for YOU...

Please add scriptures to back this up.. Let's spread the good news :)

Preach it my sister in Christ! :)

Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

Amen...you go girl! "get down with your righteousness that is yours because you are in Christ"

There was an exchange that was done when we received Christ.

Let's believe the gospel of what Christ already has done for us and receive the abundance of grace the and the gift of righteousness that is in Him.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Amen my brother.. 1 corinthians 1:30 (amp)
But it is from him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom from God, (revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as) our Righteousness (thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God) and our consecration (making us pure and holy) and our redemption (providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin.)

Gaah!!
I always run into a snag with this in my mind.
I wouldn't run into the problem if I actually WAS sinless.
I don't have the snag with knowing I will not face the just penalty of death for my sins. He finished with that when He died for my sins, so I wouldn't have to face that penalty. That's finished. It brings me great relief.

The place I run into the snag is trying to say, I am sinless. It would just be me lying to myself. I murder in my heart sometimes. I resent. I am very capable of saying I love you while inside I am resenting you and fuming over your selfishness and lack of thankfulness for all I do for you. ("You" being whatever unlovely person He puts before me at the moment - not "you" personally).

I don't have a problem with saying He counts my faith and trust in our Lord and what He has done for me AS righteousness. The problem comes with saying, I am sinless. I cannot do it. I would be lying.

we certainly have no personal righteousness of which to boast. :)

not sinless yet, though. i think the church has understood Christ's Righteousness imputed to the believer to be a 'positional righteousness'. as opposed to 'practical righteousness'.

One Day, we will be glorified, and then we will be delivered from sin forever. :)

Hey there.. Yes I totally get where your coming from.. I struggled with this too for a long time.. Like how can I be sinless.. I just cussed at that person.. Or I lusted after that dude in church haha... The truth is if I am in Christ then I am a new creation (2 corinthians 5:17) So all the thoughts and all these things that I do are no longer my nature... If sin was our birth nature because of Adam it wasn't something I did but it was who I was... But now in Christ because of his obedience (Romans 5:19) I am right with God. So all sin that comes against me is a lie... Not that I will never mess up, that's not what I'm saying... But that it no longer has any hold on me whatsoever.. In the eyes of our father we are "sinless" because of the finished work :) xx

Here's two more verses quite fitting indeed

an athlete who runs in a race cannot win the race unless he obeys the rules
2 Timothy 2:5

don't take it on yourself to repay a wrong trust the Lord and he will make it right
Proverbs 20:22

The verse has been on my mind for about a month now. Every time I pull it to the forefront, mind blown. I agree with you, we are what it says. That is why it takes a lifetime to work out salvation between the ears. Love it. ~Thanks

There is nothing we can do or say to earn it. However, God chooses who He gives it to, and He chooses to give it to those who seek Him and obey Him. If you realize you are drowning with the danger of a shark approaching, do you not seek out a life preserver? And if you do, is it enough to see it and believe in it? Or must you go to it and put it on? Faith without deeds is dead. Jesus shares His righteousness with us IF we are in Him and remain in Him. He said we must take up our cross daily and follow Him- this is action, not belief alone.

You mainly just hear about "guys" talk about battling with lust, but I'm hearing more and more testimonies from women that they have their fair share of battles with lust as well.

Hebrews 10

Hold Fast Your Confession

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Just Live by Faith

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[e]says the Lord.[f] And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”[g] 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me[h] in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.[i] 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
37 “For yet a little while,
And He[j] who is coming will come and will not tarry.
38 Now the[k] just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,My soul has no pleasure in him.”[l]

Sounds like it to me. The whole picture rests on "cause and effect." Do we obey God/do good works TO QUALIFY for God's grace? Or is God's grace a free offer which then consequently leads TO obeying God/doing good works? Do we do something because of faith, or is our faith caused by something we do? Which is cause and which is effect?
