Okay -- so in this life we are guaranteed trials and tests, nothing really comfy. You look at the life of Joseph, Paul, Job -- they all endured alot. All for God's purpose -- Romans 9 --having mercy on who he wills.

So that is my new study -- they all had knowledge and wisdom to endure their trials and tests -- what is the key?

The key? You just said it in the previous sentence. :p

They endured it because: they all had knowledge & wisdom. Once you know you can understand. Then its just a matter of fighting the flesh.

If you know gods word, it will keep you safe. They all had the fear or the lord, so they were kept safe. Yes they had trials & testing but that is the very purpose of this life.

"but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." - Matthew 24:13

Also relized that they talked to god when they were troubled. We should do likewise. Life is not ment to be comfy. Let's enjoy comfort.

Let's be comfortable in Heaven, & do the will of our Father now.

Amen?

God bless.

God will always give us more than we can handle, ALWAYS! When we get to the point of where we can no longer handle a trial or tribulation, that is when we call out to God for His help. If we weren't pushed beyond what we could bear, then there would be no need for God in our lives because we could handle everything ourselves. In our weakness, in our lack of ability, God is manifest in our lives and He gets all the praise and honor for the victories.

to me, the key is knowing that i am not my own, and that what comes to me is what god wants to come to me. peace in adversity is from the sure knowledge in our hearts that god is always looking over us and controlling what happens. and even if he asks us to die for him, he will give us the strength to endure. he endured all things as do we, and even died, so that he could be with us in all things. never will god ask us to endure anything without offering us the strength and comfort to withstand. we are one with him.

The key you speak to is already in your hand. Each day, each trial, each joy, each of these things is the key in your hand.
Accepting these keys with faith, hope and love. Opening each door to God Our Father in Jesus, with praise and thanksgiving.
You see, each thing you recieve that happens in your life is a key. It always opens the door to Jesus, and his great presance in your life.
We all aready have the keys, we just have to be willing to use them.
Smiles and God bless, pickles

The keys! I love the keys! Knowing God is a key. Trusting him is a key. Leaning on him is a key. Knowing he is God and with him he can do anything he wants. Rejoicing is a key. Telling the devil to get away is a key. The bible has all kinds of keys in it.

The key is not how much you know, but your secret history with God, the times of intimacy with Him when it is just you and Him. The more you get to know Him the more you are transformed and the more that you truly realize how trivial the things you are going through really are. You start gaining heaven's perspective of things, because the more time you spend with Him the more you will see things through His eyes.

I see as one of the main elements to this, is God at work, You will not be tested more than you can handle. To me it is the Hope and assurance of a life in eternity as an heir with Christ. This life is only temporal, a very short time and the older I get the more I have come to realise this.

Romans 9 is a very import Chapter, God has chosen you to be with Him for Eternity, and for a purpose for His Kingdom here and now. regarding mercy, it is very true that God has mercy on who he wills. this is very important, for no one deserves God's mercy, Paul argues this point in Romans 1:18 - 3:20.

I find it truly humbling that God actually has mercy on any.

Importantly, it is through this mercy that we are able to exercise Faith, for God softens the hearts of of thpse whom he chooses to have mercy on. remember in Jesus' own words we are condemned already. God chooses to have mercy on those he chose to glorify His own name.

Men think wrongly when they believe that they in their hardened hearts, living in darkness, slaves to sin, decide all of a sudden to choose God. if it where up to man, no one would choose God.

Throughout redemptive history, in other words all through scripture we see that it is God bringing people to Him, it is God being Faithful, it is God calling, not man.

So to get back to the question, it is the determinate will of God that His will be done, to the glory of His Holy name, through those he had predestined to further God's redemptive plan, and to glorify His name to all peoples of all times and ages.

In Love

Submit to the Spirit doing God's will and you will endure all things.

10But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me(2 Timothy 3:10-11).

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me(Philippians 4:13).

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light(Matthew 11:28-30).

When the Jews broke in a new ox to work in the field they yoked it with an older ox until the young ox could do it on his own.

Jesus said take His yoke upon you. When you cannot handle something yourself you are yoked to Jesus and He will see you through it.

The key is having a perfect love for God, which is a gift of God given to men upon being "Sanctified Wholly." 1 Thess 5:23. St. John says that perfect love drives out all fear, because fear has to do with judgment. If we fear death, it is clear that we do not have the truth faith in Christ. Paul said that "to die is gain." Only a true living faith - full of assurance - can speak those words so confidently.

A couple of points my friend:

Perfect love casts out fear, out of us, because fear involves punishment, not judgment. Those who are in Christ Jesus have passed out of condemnation and judgment into life.

When one comes to Christ Jesus, and receive Him by the Spirit, they are sanctified wholly, they are holy in Him, in the Spirit. What so many talk about is a sanctified life in this world, and many have missed that the way to live a life for God is to live in God, and trust in God to live in us. Our Father in heaven has already done everything. Striving to live the sanctified life is actually striving against the something that is already taken care of, in the cross of Jesus.

Our striving is not able to work even one wit of righteousness that means anything to God. Our striving is despicable. If we would be pleasing to Him, we need only draw near to Him, and hear His voice. That is all. As we do this, His nature is imparted to us, and the inner man who is created in His image is strengthened by His grace. And as this inner man becomes more of our life, we find ourselves walking in the love of God, in all things and with all people. And if we should be deemed worthy to suffer persecution, the inner man who is in communion with the Father will stand in His strength.

In His peace,

the key is to endure in God's own doctrine as taught by Jesus in doing so you must understand and know the Word of God and do it on a daily basis. do this and endure until the end of your life

You are correct, I should have said punishment. The KJV says: Torment. But we are passed out of Torment as well.

I believe that it is important to make a distinction between the experience of Imputed Sanctification and Imparted Sanctification. If we do not make distinction, then the Legalists will go out and attempt obedience to the Law by their own efforts, thinking that they have already been Sanctified Wholly. Paul's prayer for Entire Sanctification - for the Thessalonians - was for Christians, not for heathens.

I agree with everything in your last paragraph. The Bible says the Law is a taskmaster to "Bring us to faith in Christ." The way that mankind typically comes to this faith is by attempting obedience to the Law and failing. Then after repeated failures, hopelessness sinks in and then they give up their efforts, and turn to Jesus in desperation to find a Living Faith in Him.

It is a wonderful thing done in us by the Holy Spirt, when we trust in Jesus

So that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Rom15:16

Well put. The law when it was given increased the sin, it did not decrease it.

The law was added so that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased grace increased all the more. Rom5:20

Quest
We tend to think of sanctification as an end, when in truth it is a description, and shows that we hold a place in God's kingdom. There is nothing in His kingdom that is not sanctified. What is so often misunderstood, is that we are in His kingdom first in the Spirit, by the new birth from the Spirit. That new birth is sanctified holy, by birth. We did not do anything to bring about this sanctification, but God has done it by His giving us His seed. At this point is the entire creature sanctified? The only part of the creature that is alive is. Notice how Paul list the sanctification when praying for those people; you spirit and your soul, and body be preserved complete , without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. What so many think of as separate acts of grace are nothing of the sort, but rather the result of the life of God growing and becoming the only life force for the soul and then for the body.

God's life is such that if we are exposed to Him with regularity, we will find His life becoming our life for our entire being. Again, in this we have no action, only receive His life from Him, with loving desire to be like Him.

I don't worry about the legalist and their troubles. Only those who are born of God are able to receive of this.

In His blessings of grace and love,
