Christ likeness.

“Romans 8: 17 ‘we share in his sufferings that we may also share in his glory”

God’s number one: goal for you isn’t comfort, its Christ likeness! And to reach it you’ll have to undergo some of the same experiences that Jesus went through- like being misunderstood by your family, ridiculed by the church members, rejected by the world, and disappointed by the people who say they love you. The Bible says we’ve been called to: share in his sufferings that we may share in his glory. So how do we do this? You could try these three ways:

1 Stay focused on God’s plan, not your pain. ‘Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith’ (Hebrew 12: 1-2)

2 Don’t give in to short-term thinking: Look at Jesus, ‘because of the joy awaiting Him. He endured the cross’ Keep your eye on the finish line. You don’t get the trophy until the race is over, so make up your mind to ‘stay the course’ and finish strong.

3 Start praying the right way: When you understand that God’s objective is to make you more like Christ, you’ll start praying fewer ‘comfort’ me prayers and more conform me prayers. Instead of asking why me Lord? You’ll ask, what do you want me to learn Lords? James writes: ‘let the process go on until you have become men and women of mature character’ (James 1: 4)

That’s how you become more Christ like.

True it isn't through the easy times that grow the most and pain really is an amazing teacher trials and hardships can make one mature and grow however comfort knowing and feeling his love and warmth is just as vital.
There will always be hardships always be storms and trials to go through but if that is all there is then it does no good. Sometimes being comforted being shown how deeply loved and cared about you are does more for you than trials, in fact it's because he comforted me because I could always run into his arms and feel loved and adored that I want to comfort and to encouraged and build up others. There needs to be a balance there are times for trials and suffering and there are times for comfort and peace

This experience came to mind ...

Not long ago I was summoned to a meeting.

Right away I thought "oh no! This is BAD news!" ... I started worrying myself sick thinking the worst, I tied myself up in every knot imaginable.

Then the Lord whispered in my ear "In all things God works for the good of those that love Him according to His purposes" ...

BOOM! Wow ... so true! Hmmm so God has arranged this for my benefit! It will be something good.... and then I started thinking of all the good things He might have planned by it.

His words comforted me and turned my pessimism into optimism ... Not only was I no longer afraid, but I was looking forward to it. :)

Hey Psalmist I have experienced the same thing there are times in which the enemy puts fear and worry stress and anxiety in my heart but it's in these times I hear a voice whisper ( Do not fear) and I suddenly am calm and have faith in God.

Just remember Blain, The enemy has to ask God to put fear or test us and tempt us, God allows some things to help us strengthen us up and to build up our faith in God.

I am not afraid of what the enemy has to throw at me because it isn't my strength that matters nor is the level of my faith that matters I rely 100% on God on his strength his love his peace he is my rock my source of strength and life. I already told God several times and I will say it again if I am to be tested if my heart is to be tried by fire then so be it but know this there is only one heart coming out of that fire.

Of course while I am not afraid of what the enemy may throw at me I would never make the mistake of challenging him that opens a door you really don't want open
