Do you think there are some examples below of divine messages being revealed through the use of ungodly people ? Do you think that divine messages can be revealed by reading books like 'The Wisdom of Sirach' or 'On Christian Doctrine' by St. Augustine ?

1 Thessalonians 5: 20 & 21

Do not treat prophecies with contempt
but test them all; hold on to what is good,

Genesis 41: 1&2

Two years later the king of Egypt dreamed he was standing beside the Nile River.
Suddenly, seven fat, healthy cows came up from the river and started eating grass along the bank.

Genesis 41:25

Joseph replied: Your Majesty, both of your dreams mean the same thing, and in them God has shown what he is going to do.

Genesis 41:39

Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.

Daniel 2:1

In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.

How often do you receive prophecies? And how do you test them? It hasn't happened that many times to me.

You may look below at something from Sirach, have you seen it before ? Do you think of it as prophecy or divine message ?

Sirach 21:15

When an intelligent person hears a wise saying, he praises it and adds to it; when a fool hears it, he laughs at it and throws it behind his back.

Nebuchadnezzer was a symbol of "exalted man" who does not acknowledge GOD as the GIVER of all things.

And there will be many "Nebuchadnezzers" in the day when "HE who holds all things back is taken out of the way"...

Just as there will be those who will acknowledge GOD, and repent, understanding that it was GOD who held back all things so that we were never totally consumed...that HE as the GOD and FATHER of all men, gave GIFTS from the abundance of HIS GRACE upon all men...believer and unbeliever alike

It's just that when the day of reckoning comes, many will look left and right at woes and troubles, will not acknowledge GOD, will not repent...but will instead look up curse/blame their GOD and their king and be cast into utter darkness.

These will receive the wrong mark...and it won't be for LIFE.

Those who are skilled in words become wise themselves, and pour forth apt proverbs.

The saying in Sirach 21:15 may be new to some people.

It appeared that you don't know that it's plagiarism.

No more "Prophets" sir...there is nothing new under the sun.
No more "prophets" in the sense that anything new will be foretold...but only this those things that were already there will be brought forth...

Just as it is written, "knowledge will increase"...

And HE no longer speaks to us in proverbs/parables...but shows us PLAINLY OF THE FATHER...for it is ONLY IN CHRIST that the veil is removed ...

all these things spoken in hidden signs and lower representations were simply ALL THE HIDDEN HIGHER AND SPIRITUAL TRUTHS AND REALITIES FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST.

TO THE TESTIMONY and THE LAW.

But here is the TRUTH, there are now only WITNESSES who hold to THE TESTIMONY of JESUS
And HE indeed will send "prophets" (who are HIS WITNESSES) so that in those who go against HIM, HE will in the avenge the death of every righteous man from Abel to Zechariah whose blood cries out to HIM from the ground.

Parables are ALSO WISE SAYINGS...

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

I judge it's noble to share divine proverbs with people who lack experience of divine wisdom and are in need of guidance because they were spiritually neglected as they grew up and because of it they have suffered.

And tell them that the visual ministry of THE VERY LORD of CREATION/LORD of THE SEVENTH DAY SABBATH... pouring into 6 "earthen vessels' (signifying creation) because the "water had run out" the NEW WINE...is depicted at that scene from the "wedding at cana"...

Stop talking and talking and talking and believe in CHRIST and the MESSAGE of THE CROSS which IS the HIDDEN WISDOM of GOD made known to man...

When will the madness end and all will rest in the KNOWLEDGE of the LORD?

But it appears to me that the wise want to appear wise and forget the BETTER PART...
And without the BETTER PART the "wise" are foolish...

The dabbling in words does not make one wise but rather the fear of the Lord makes one wise.

Job_28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Psa_111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Pro_1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Pro_9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Pro_15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Thomas, I don't know who you are...but you are not HOLDING onto the ONE whom you should hold on to first and foremost.

It is things and nothings compared to the surpassing glory of knowing OUR LORD...(Philippians 3)

Rather those who are wise become skilled in words.

These proverbs can even add to the knowledge of the wise and give guidance to the educated.
