So, you do not believe Jesus is God? That explains a lot. There are tons of scripture that say Jesus is God in the flesh.

I have no idea what the catholic church teaches...all's I know is that they have a pope.
[/B]
That statement can only be made from malevolence or ignorance considering the fact that I posted on this very thread a scripture that plainly states Jesus is the only begotten GOD.

Well brother if you have any articles and stuff to try to persuade me different feel free too. I can get things wrong too. I have no problem studying.

nonsense....Jesus is God...you really need to study up on this. Where did you get this strange false doctrine that Jesus is not God?

There are no "Gods"...there is the 3 in One which as I said is a mystery. You are trying to understand this with your mind which is why you think when people say there are 3 in One.

Well I dont follow doctrine nor tradition in case you havent noticed yet lol
This is one of those "essentials" that is not debatable. Which is why I wonder if this is your own thinking, or something you have been taught by others?

well more made up by me because I dont feel right saying I have only one God and trying to excuse something with a trinity. and I feel right saying that Jesus is the son of God, not God himself.

Okay. Then you need to study it out.

To start with, when Jesus claimed to be the Son of God that was Him claiming to be God. The Jews understood that. That's why they picked up rocks to stone Him.

:alien: as it is written
:read:
John 20:21
Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you."

 as it is written
:read:
7*Jesus told them, "You don't need to know about times or periods that the Father has determined by his own authority.
~;> CONTINUE TO
:read:
8*But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
9*After he had said this, he was taken to heaven. A cloud hid him so that they could
no longer see him.
10*They were staring into the sky as he departed. Suddenly, two men in white clothes stood near them.
11*They asked, "Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking at the sky? Jesus, who was taken from you to heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven."

 as it is written
:read:
Luke 11:13
Even though you're evil, you know how to give good gifts to your children. So how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"

:8) as it is written
:read:
10*As Jesus came out of the water, he saw heaven split open and the Spirit coming down to him as a dove.
11*A voice from heaven said, "You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you."
12*At once the Spirit brought him into the desert,
13*where he was tempted by Satan for 40 days. He was there with the wild animals, and the angels took care of him.

:now: which holy spirit we are talking here
:hrmm: is it from the son or from the father

 perhaps it is to much to ask now

:ty:

godbless us all always

IMO there's no question that GOD has a triune nature (father, spirit, son). Hyper legalists will try to make you conform to their interpretation of this reality. They used to burn people alive over this. That tells you what manner of spirit can be at work.

yeah but I will be fair and check out the articles and let the holy spirit guide me. I do have a tough shell that isnt that easily breakable. Plus I like learning. People try to mend me on here many times and dont succeed. I doubt that I will step off of my view but ill just be fair

'He is ''God in the flesh'' because hes from the heavens and a part of God. But he isnt God the father. Theres only one God and that is the Father.
I think it would be wise to remember for the sake of argument :)

NO one or even two :) can fully know the Godhead . And if one hear suggest that they do when the Word of God says we can't then I leave you with this it is pride that one would say they know fully. Jesus is God, The Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God all coe-equal with distinction and personification. We see this in the Old and new Testament scriptures. it is not somewhat mystery ( the Godhead) the GodHead is a Mystery that will be revealed when this mortal puts on mortality and this corruption put on incorruptibility .

Because the Christian understanding of the triune nature of God is central to our belief.
can one get this knowledge with a bible and faith in Christ or is that not enough and they have to go through church and church doctrine?

Where do you think Christianity got it from??

One can certainly spend their life trying to reinvent a wheel that has already been invented. Granted, it's a darn foolish thing to do, but they are certainly free to do so.

I believe it was Tertullian 2nd-3rd century AD.
