There are tons of "churchy" expressions. Sometimes I think us Christians have made up a completely different set of words which the people in the world have no idea what we are saying...lol.

Sometimes it's because they don't have the Holy Spirit to reveal spiritual realities and other times it's just us being religious.

Few of my friends are Christians, so even if I did use fancy word, they'd be more likely to think me crazy than to be impressed.
If asked I tell them I believe Christ died for our sins and rose again. Don't need fancy words for that.
