matthew 26:65-68"Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”“He is worthy of death,” they answered.
Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you?”

matthew 27:22-23 "What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked.
They all answered, “Crucify him!”
“Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

matthew 27:27-31 "Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him."

matthew 27: :35 -When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.
Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!

”In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ” In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[SUP]c[/SUP] lemasabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open.

The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

this is why Jesus has the right to say " if you Love me you will obey my commands and my father will love you and we will come and make our home with you"

Jesus suffered for each person who accepts him this is what validates His authority and should leave no argument in any Christians Life to omit all of His commands and teachings from the "gospel" Jesus Loves you so much that He was spit on, beaten, flogged, accused, sursed, insulted spit on more, executed brutally every moment was for you to give you this " free gift" as some take it to be. this same one who did all this for you, spent around 3 years teaching his followers how to Live and Love one another. these teachings are recorded thay are the only 4 books labeled gospels. matthew mark luke and John. this is the foundation of all Christianity. not just that He died for us and rose again for us, but all that He himself said live like I'm teaching you to live or you will not " produce fruit". everything He taught comes with accepting His free gift , he teaches to obey His commands, and to teach others to obey His commands. all nations, all people. Jesus Loves you, Love Jesus, as Jesus says to Love Him, confess Him as Lord sincerely.

All power and authority have been given to Jesus because He is God.
He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the Author and Giver of life.
He holds the keys to life and death. Do you believe Jesus is God?

matthew 3 :16-17"As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased!”

matthew 17:2-5 "There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “THIS IS MY SON, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

matthew 16:16-17"Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the SON of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my FATHER in heaven. "

romans 1:4"and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."

1 john 5:10 "Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony GOD HAS GIVEN ABOUT HIS SON."

this is where my Faith is about who Jesus is. He was conceived by the holy spirit, a portion of God, begotten of God. he is of God, and Gods word says repeatedly this is my son listen to Him, peters confession? "you are the Christ, the son opf the Living God" what does Jesus say about peter believing He is Gods Son? Jesus says, " blessed are you simon, son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by men, but by God"

I believe Jesus is the Son of God, equal to God, is named God, or bears Gods name and authority. but you are missing " God is spirit" Jesus was flesh. He was Gods only representation of God is the flesh, Gods only natural conceived son. or only BEGOTTEN Son.

yet Gods word declared Him to Be all authority. and I have no issued with anyone calling Him God, they should Know he is not God the Father. God the father Lived in Him and spoke through Him. Jesus showed us God in the flesh ect. But my faith is and will remain where it is in this matter. as the laswt time we discussed what I believe about Jesus the Son of the Living God.

[TD]Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows?Are you tired of spinning round and round?Wrap up all those shattered dreams of your lifeAnd at the feet of Jesus, lay them down.

Give them all, give them all, give them all to JesusShattered dreams, wounded hearts, and broken toys.Give them all, give them all, give them all to JesusAnd He will turn your sorrows into joy.

He never said you only see sunshine,He never said there would be no rain.He only promised a heart full of singingAbout the very thing that once brought pain.

Christ the Word. Thine incarnation
Links my nature to Thine own;
By Thy sore humiliation,
I am lifted to Thy throne;
By Thy suffering Thou hast fired me
With a zeal to sacrifice,
And to noble life inspired me:
Hence my grateful songs arise.

Word of God. Thy crucifixion
Hath upraised me from the earth;
By Thy death and dereliction,
Thou hast given me nobler birth;
By Thy resurrection glorious,
Life immortal now I own:
Hence ascend my songs victorious
To Thy praise, O Christ the Son.

By Thy hand at the creation,
Thou didst form me from the ground,
And, to mark my kingly station,
With Thine image I was crowned;
And that hand, when pierced and bleeding,
Raised me from corruption's mire;
And, though all this love unheeding,
Decked me with Divine attire.

Thou who gav'st my soul its being,
Breathing in me life Divine,
Didst, by Thine all-wise decreeing,
Unto death Thy life resign;
And from death my soul defending,
Thou didst sojourn with the dead,
That Thou might'st, my fetters rending,
Raise me up, Thou glorious Head.

Shame be on your heads abiding,
Disobedient people now,
Who to death, and vile deriding,
Caused the Word of God to bow.
Shame! for death, nor powers infernal,
Nor the dark of hades' gloom,
Could retain the King Eternal
In the bondage of the tomb.

It was God the Son who hung on the Cross for all our sins. Not just a body that was on the Cross, but actually WAS the True God, the Son of God!

Jesus forgave many of their sins. Only God can forgive. Therefore Jesus IS God! Even in the Body He is still God!

I am glad you acknowledge it is because of Who He is. You have changed your stance. Good. Please stop falsely accusing me. I do not overlook that God is Spirit. Why do you say such ridiculously stupid things to me?

In post #2 a simple yes or no question was asked of the Opening Poster.
In #3 there was a lot of scripture and a lengthy explanation, but I didn't notice a clear answer to "Do you believe Jesus is God".

If Jesus is not God, He's not Savior either, so this is a pretty important question to answer correctly. Many seem to say He was a good teacher, a man of honor, blessed more than any other, even the son of God. Though all true, He's also God the Son, very God of very God. There is only one Savior, and that is God, and there isn't any other name in heaven or earth whereby we MUST be saved, and at the name of Jesus, EVERY knee will bow, So He is either the Lord God our Savior, or all those other things said about Him are untrue or meaningless.

In the beginning God...Genesis1

And John 1 says:
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was WITH God,
and the Word WAS God.
And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us.
That's Jesus.
So, do you believe Jesus is God?

romans 1:1-5 "Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. "

he is Gods Son, a perfect representation of God in the flesh, proven unequivocally by His resurrection from the dead. he is named God, by God. a portion of God is Jesus, his only begotten. equal to. therefore anyone who believes He is God is correct. anyone saying He is Gods only Son is correct. anyone saying He is the first and alast alpha and omega is correct, anyone saying He is everything is correct ect... Jesus cannot be labeled, He is Like God in every way, Gods exact representation, his Pure and true Son made in His perfect image and given all authority. Jesus is clearly a different being, God cannot be tempted, Jesus was, God cannot die, Jesus surely died. the trinity thinking is really saying he is exactly like God in all ways, yet He is Gods Son, not the Father, but the son. Just my own faith, but anyone saying Hes God to mankind is not in error, nor is anyone saying He is Gods son.

magenta you seem really sensitive to me, ive never accused you of a thing. I do not believe in the doctrine of grace alone that spreads eternal salvation apart from Jesus. you are the one who always comes to my posts and starts in on the same things. I have no issue with you, nor have I accused you of anything falsely or justly. its not my place to accuse you or anyone, I really don't understand why you come begin arguments and then when I respond I'm somehow accusing you.

listen magenta, if you just don't like me, stay clear don't interact I'm ok with that, God Loves you, I have no ill will for you. but some of the things you are offended by and the stances you take I'm oblivious to. I do not accuse you or anyone. you are confusing my distain for a false doctrine that removes Jesus words from the gospel, and how I fel about other people. that grace doctrine is a lie, a deadly one, Just believe means Just believe truly and do these things. I'm sorry that you alkways seem so offended by me, but the best solution really is just go find posts you agree with and ignore mine if they offend you so much. but if you come to me and begin debating, I will respond you cant always take a discussion in a bible forum so personally. I hate the doctrines that remove Jesus or try to dethrone Him from authority, I do and always will, so anyone who keeps to those doctrines will dislike me and what I have to say......

I'm totally fine with that, what I don't get is this : why do you continually return and always end up asking me " why I accuse you falsely?" ive accused you of nothing, if were discussing something we do not agree on, you have to realize its not a personal attack. simply tho if I'm so offensive to you, let all of it go and just go elsewhere rather than to the posts that seem to offend you so much by me. you know? you, bruce, and anyone else who doesn't like me or what I have to say, God bless you and keep you, no ill will. but lets " do what leads to peace, and simply find people who aren't going to constantly be offended and accuse others of falsely accusing others ect...its a waste of time. love doesn't mean well always agree, it sometimes means lets avoid each other in Love ans peace if we cant get along. I'm not here to draw you into arguments

All power and authority have been given to Jesus because He is God.
He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the Author and Giver of life.
He holds the keys to life and death. Do you believe Jesus is God?
That is true Jesus is God,but as God He does not need to be given power in heaven,and earth,for He already has it,which on earth He is God with us.

The Bible says that there is one God,and one mediator between God and men,the man Christ Jesus.

The man Christ Jesus is our Savior,for only a sinless man can approach a holy God on mankind's behalf.

No man is sinless so God manifest Himself in flesh,and reconciled mankind back to Himself in the person of Jesus Christ,God and man in harmony.

But of course you know that.

King David said,the LORD said unto my Lord,sit on my right hand,until I make your enemies your footstool,so the Son is at the right hand of God,until His enemies are conquered,and then the Son will stop being at the right hand of God,so it is only a temporary role.

The Bible says the Son must reign until all His enemies are conquered,and when His enemies are conquered,the Son shall submit to God the Father,that God may be all in all.

Since the man Christ Jesus is our Savior,He must rule until His enemies are conquered,so God exalted the man Christ Jesus to be at His right hand,which means exercise the throne of power,until His enemies are conquered,and then the Son shall stop exercising the throne of power,which means stop being at the right hand of God,that God may be all in all.

But of course Jesus is God manifest in the flesh,so the man Christ Jesus' deity is God,so God is still in control,and in power,but God is ruling through the man Christ Jesus for the sake of the saints,for He must rule until His enemies are conquered.

As God Jesus does not need to be given all power in heaven,and earth,for He would already have it,the only person that can be given power is the man Christ Jesus,for as a human He can be exalted.

Jesus had power and authority over all the living before His resurrection. he healed, gave life, drove demons out did miracles ect. when He says " all authpority on earth and in Heaven has been Goiven to me after His resurrection. it ties Into this

romans 14:9"For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living."
1 peter 4:5"But they will have to give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead."

romans1:1-7 "Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ."

God the Father is the God of the Living and not the dead at the point Jesus was on earth in the flesh Luke 20:38. Jesus died in order to remove deaths dominion over Gods beloved mankind who while thoier spirit was alive to God, they were bound to death by sin according to Gods word " you will surely die". in His resurrection everything He said was declared with power through the spirit to be true for He said I will rise, and He rose this eliminates any question of the truth of Jesus the Son of God. God is Life. He cannot die, if God should die, existence would cease he is the only source of Life or existence. Jesus His Son, the expression of God the Father in the flesh of man, the Son of the Living God came in the flesh in order to die, conquer death and hades and return to Life with the keys of death and hades another thing showing us who the authority is.

Jesus is Gods Son, He bears Gods name, Gods perfect nature but His authority was not of a man, but of the Son of God. if you really think of it, Jesus was not perfectly obedient to the mosaic Law at all. the law says " if a person is caught in adultery, surely they must be put to death, you must stone them, purge the evil from among you" However, Jesus broke this Law when the adulterous woman was dragged before Him. His authority as Gods Son is seen even Here. no man obedient or not has the power to over ride Gods Law as Jesus did. He is more than a man, He is equal to God in every way, But He submits willingly to God the Father even to death on a cross His submission to obeying God is seen.

Jesus had the authority to change the laws of God. this authority was Given to Him before the creation of the world. He is not a man, He is not God the Father. He is Gods Sonthe Lord of both the Living and the dead or " all authority on earth and in heaven has been given to me after He is raised from the dead. He repeats this.

I'm not really disagreeing with you, there was a lot of good insight in your comment, God Bless

and also romans 1 :1-7 "

What do you mean, Jesus had the authority to change God's law?!
And what do you mean, He is not a man?!

Also, you were asked earlier, "do you believe Jesus is God" and you answered He is the Son of God, and challenged us to answer if we believe that, but you didn't answer our question. Do you believe Jesus is God? We've established and believe Jesus is the Son of God, YES, now will you answer, do you believe that Jesus is God? Your yes or no answer will help clarify your position and help with further discussion with you. Thx.

You're a little confused. Jesus is God. God came to earth in human form as Jesus Christ. They are one and the same. So yes, Jesus is God's son, BUT he is also God himself. Hard to believe, but very true. :)

You're a little confused. Jesus is God. God came to earth in human form as Jesus Christ. They are one and the same. So yes, Jesus is God's son, BUT he is also God himself. Hard to believe, but very true. :)
Amen to this! Looking forward to his rebuttal.

he is Gods son. now let me put you in the same box. yes or no is Jesus Gods son>? yes or no mind you? is Jesus Gods son, pretty simple question? yes or no?
Jesus is God. Jesus is God's Son. He's both. I know it's amazing, but we are in fact talking about God, and He is pretty amazing.

This dichotomy continues to kind of puzzle me. Maybe I'm trying too hard to intellectualize it and not let faith sink in.

The trinity is perhaps the greatest mystery of our faith and we just need to rest assurer that God in His entire essence loves us more than we will ever know.
