SCRIPTURAL FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Ezekiel 18:20) The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21 .) But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22 .) All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23 .) Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24 .) But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25 .) Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26 .) When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 .) Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 .) Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29 .) Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30 .) Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31 .) Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32 .) For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

A very interesting passage of Scripture to think about, and maybe discuss, if such discussions can take place respectfully I suppose.........

That was the problem under the Law, the wicked could not turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right. Hence the need for Jesus Christ.

The truth is the same thing is for the Old Testament, and New Testament, for there is the spiritual law, moral laws, laws of love, that both Testaments had to go by,but in the Old Testament they could not have the Spirit, but in the New Testament we can have the Spirit, and obey the moral laws, laws of love, and be like Christ.

It applies for both Testaments,if a person that is saved, but turns back to unrighteousness they will be cut off,but if they turn back to righteousness they will live again.

Why do people think that it would be different in the New Testament compared to the Old Testament, the same rule applies obey God's commandments,or you are hit,but in the New Testament we do not go by the physical ordinances, but only the spiritual laws, moral laws, laws of love.

There is no difference between the Old and New Testaments, except we can have the Spirit in the New,causing us to actually be able to live up to the law,and commandments.

1Jn 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1Jn 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

People can claim Christ all day long, but if they do not represent righteousness, but have pleasure in unrighteousness of any kind, they are not of God.

The same rules apply for both Testaments, you obey God's commandments or else your hit.

No longer do our sins count against us because all of our sins have been cleansed by the Blood of Jesus that was shed on the Cross, the ultimate Sacrifice for all our sins, past, present, and future sins.

1 John 1:7
[SUP]7 [/SUP]but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Clearly here God has said all our sins have been washed clean!

We are no longer under the Law! So why are there those who keep quoting the Old Law? Why are these people trying to take away our freedom in Christ by trying to put us back under the Law?

Rejoice! For God has taken away ALL our sins! Its by Grace we have been Saved and its by Grace we walk with God!

Paul lays all this out in Romans 2. He starts in Romans 1 and describes the heathen Gentiles and illustrates their open sinfulness. In chapter 2 Paul describes those who have moral superiority because they judge themselves better than those around them. Paul even says that every man shall be judged by his works. This works all well and good until mans moral conscience is compared to Gods perfect conscience regarding morality.

Chapter 3 three is of course the conclusion that no matter how good we see ourselves God has determined that we are lost because of sin. Each man is responsible to God for his own sin. Not the sin of father or son but of himself to God and God alone.
