Who are the False Prophets that are among us today?

Matthew 7:15
15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:11
11 Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.

Matthew 24:24
24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

2 Peter 2:1
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

I do believe that today the Catholic Church is one of the False Prophets we have today. Can you name others?

Anyone advocating for Law as a means for salvation, maintaining salvation, or as the rule of life.

..and your point is? If you have one, please get to it. The thread title and first post reek of something inflammatory just to get a crap fight started. I get a kick out of it like watching chimpanzees throw poop at each other, but it needs to be called out for what it is.

^Did he say anything useful, or was it more baiting like he's been known to do that earned him his place in the black hole of the Ignore List? Pretty sure I already know the answer.

He has an axe to grind against the Catholic church, but not a troll.

Normally I would just go to next thread, but you piped my curiousity....if you have him on ignore, why bother clicking on any thread he has started?

Seems illogical, but my husband says I expect too much from the world....logic, like common sense must be a gift from God to the honest.

The false prophets today believe there is a ministry in condemning anyone who does good and
honours the Lord.

It is always tempting to say the reason for problems is the wrong teaching, when the real cause
of failure is sin and a lack of love. The gospel is about following Jesus in love and faith.

It is interesting how people believe there is something like a ministry to polarise the church into those
who are lawless and those who desire righteousness. Not surprisingly considering our whole culture
doubts morals of any sort have value. It has gone so far to desire wealth and health is good, and
your right, and those who fulfill the consumer dream are blessed by God.

But this is what Jesus says,

But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
Luke 6:24-26

I just happen to click on the link in my email that notifies me of new replies.

Well, if he has an axe to grind against the Catholic Church, then he deserves his place on the ignore list. Intolerance and ignorance while pretending to be Christian is hypocritical. The hubris and ego strutting is pretty awesome though.

Sad.... this is supposed to be a bible discussion, why then has it turned into speaking such death to each other? isn't there enough of that in this world without bringing here? please I respectfully ask you al to stop... and lets speak life to each other ok? I'm not above this either and have found myself engaging in it, prov, 13:10 always convicts me. our Savior made us free from the bondage to sin and death to encourage and strengthen each other....

My whole Family are Catholics. I was born in a Catholic Family. I attended the Catholic Church. I was an alter boy in the Catholic Church. Can you see where i'm going?

When i was an alter boy i was molested by a Catholic Priest. This molestation went on for years.

Can you even understand the pain i went through? Over and over for years on end, being molested. I tried to kill myself. This is how my family found out what was going on. My dad blamed me for being molested.

So yes i do hate the Catholic Church. How can a Priest who claims to follow Jesus even do this to me!!!!!!

So now you have my story. You can now leave me and abandon me just like my dad did.

Hollywood actors, Big time athletes, R&B singers, and Gangsta rappers have sold their soul to Satan for fame and fortune. I am so sorry for what you have gone through mike. No wonder you are mad at the Catholic Church.

No Priest has any rights for molesting anybody.

I have read many stories of Catholic Priests molesting children but your the first one i ever have known

If there is anything we can do for you just let us know.

Unfortunate that happened to you, but it doesn't entitle you to spew venom at a whole organization based on the actions of a single individual. You know that, but it's just easier to hate the whole RCC and have something to chat about with the other loving Christians. Have at it.

One parting thought from me this evening. I'm terribly disappointed in many of you.

Not once; not one single time; never has any one of you had the courage and conviction to simply just ask me my views. No. It was more fun for you to assume. It was more fun to draw your own conclusions based on the things I would write. You couldn't simply ask the question because you were having more fun showing your skills as a master debater.

It's Christians like you that make it hard for Christians like me to "love my fellow man". It's Christians like you that are more of a barrier to a young Christian (like me saved in 2015) learning about his faith than you are a helpmate. It's Christians like you that I want nothing to do with and want no association with because I don't feel you do your proclaimed faith any service in the way you treat others who don't agree with your notions. It's Christians like you that I don't have any interest in getting to know, and you've lost any chance in getting to know me. Your loss too. I'm a pretty awesome dude.
