I noticed lifeconnects has a link to a daily verse app.

Does anyone have a favorite app or bible study software ideas to share?

I personally have
  • "MySword" for Android installed on cell phone.
  • E-Sword on the PC
  • Biblegateway and Blueletterbible online

Is Bible app software a way to witness to others? For example you see a person using their cell phone and you mention or show to them a favorite app and go on to discuss from there.

BibleGateway on my phone so I can listen to it read passages to me. I like the one guy's voice. Nice pace and pronunciation.

Xiphos on my home PC. It accepts SWORD modules, so it's as feature-rich as I want or need.

((i've got an android phone too))

i do like MySword quite a bit, but not for reading the Bible itself -- although its way of looking up books / chapters is the my favorite on any Bible app ((and i've tried at least 20)), it doesn't have ver many translations available, and it's kind of cumbersome overall to use.

however -- it also has a whole lot of other info: commentaries, lexicons, maps, dictionaries, etc. so i love it for that and use it a lot.

but the app that i just straight read from these days is called "open bibles"
here's a link to it on the appstore
OpenBibles

it has a whole lot of translations, it's relatively small, completely free, no ads, and very easy to read from, with a few good settings you can tweak.

also, the icon for it is a cheeseburger!

I really like the app YouVersion by Life Church found in the play store. You can download different offline bibles versions and it has quite a selection too. Has free devotionals too. Easy to use. Comment and highlight verses no prob. All for free :) Amazing for me.

I use tercarta bible app.

Its really useful I've downloaded several bible versions and you can have two
versions open side by side.

They also have various study bibles, commentaries, atlases etc.

You have to pay to down load them but once downloaded you no longer need an
Internet connection to use them.

You can also highlight passages, copy, paste, make margin notes, send scripture via email,
and there is a bible audio reader, so a voice reads the passage to you if you want. You can set
the speed of the voice and male/female.

Also if you have more than one device, you can sync everything between devices.

I have it on my phone and iPad.

I take my ipad to church with me as the split screen allows me to have the bible app
open, along side my note taking app.

It gets regularly updated too so it's always current and I've never lost any data during
updates. I've used it for past 6-7 years without problems.

I downloaded an app called "daily Bible". Each day you get a new "daily verse". There are also daily devotionals and audio bone by various Pastors and theologians like C. H. Spurgeon, Ravi Zacharias and R. C. Sproul. There are a couple that i dont like but i dont have to read or listen to them. It is a nice "on the go" app i can have on my phone at all times. Plus its free which is a HUGE bonus.

I was given a Revised Standard Version of the Bible as a boy, by my church, so I like to use this website to look things up:
