Nor do most of us. We have about 150.............. Boy, *yet* you know our preacher is livin' high on the hog with all the $ he rakes in. LOL (It's a wonder he can afford his 10 year old car and his 60 year old house.)

I do not really disagree with you on the problems within the buildings, and the whole hierarchy within those buildings, and the many signs and wonders that are performed, and other strange non biblical teachings/behaviors that I have seen over the years, however where I disagree with you is your belief that it is believers that are falling away and will be condemned.

I would say many believers are deceived unfortunately because the flesh likes to be entertained and experience phenomena, however, there are true believers in those buildings and we should pray they come out if their assembly and pastor is not adhering to biblical truth and principles.

Yeah, I don't know any pastors who are well off, in the money sense.

Yeah we have a congregation of about 10 people :)

It's not about numbers.. but quality of biblical understanding. About how deep the relationship with Jesus goes.

There are a few churches in my city with a big number of people.. but ask how many have actually been baptised.. how many read their bible regularly.. how many actually believe Jesus is God.

I can say without a doubt, all bar one have been baptised.. all read their bible regularly and all believe Jesus is God.

My wife and I started going to a larger church than usual, Planetshakers to be precise. So far in our experience, we both have confessed that we have both been critical wretches both in thought and in heart about 'larger' churches. The worship is genuine and the messages are spot on.

We have since repented on judging what we do not know.

I can agree with some of what Yet says but I don't feel you can lump all church's in this category. A good example of a Church that has gone astray is the one my dad attends. When it started out it was just a secretary and the Pastor. Now it has like 16 people with the title of pastor. It isn't a mega church and really isn't a large church at all. Not sure why they need so many people on staff.

That last guy left out one important aspect. He didn't go far enough to show that the elders job was to bring the other saints to maturity for the work of the ministry in the context of the assembled believers. See: 1Cor. 12, Romans 12, and Epehesians 4. But at least he nailed the 'self exalted Diotrephes single, salaried Pastor phenomenon/misnomer/mistake.

I suppose we could afford that, but our primary pastor wouldn't take it, and our asst. pastor who fills in when the regular guy is otherwise engaged, won't take any $ at all.

If they get one or two rich people in the church ..they can get away with it I guess. That's why its important to make the rich folks feel very special..haha

Celebrity Pastor is not a Biblical Church Office | Holy Bible Prophecy

The one thing this guy missed is the use of the word 'office' which is a mis-translation. Behold, the greek; service, function.

If you have a rock quarry near you, you can buy a truck load cheap in the event you run out of rocks to throw from your driveway. smile. Just having fun. I love the word of God....don't you? Especially the parts we never hear from the pagan pulpits. Knowwhatimean Vern?

I have one super rich friend ... His "pastor" often tries to figure out where and how he is spending his money ..ask me about some of his business one day and it was all I could do not to tell him to go away. Not a bad guy, just got this twisted biblical idea that his religious group deserves other peoples money. Sad really how these false doctrines about the tithe has polluted Christianity ..from the time of the RCC

777ad when the true believers started kicking the idea around thinking....HMMMM....MONEY....OOLALA. Not a fixed doctrine until the mid 1800's. Dumb sheep dont research but i still love em all. smile.

But the topic is the mysterious, missing from scripture 'pastor', as it is erroneously defined today.

Oh, I'm sorry.... A bunch of us were at our building, picking up all the rocks you keep throwing at the place. We've made quite a nice little garden setting with them.
