Absolutely not.

A mind full of negative, evil, judgmental thoughts is an unclean vessel. God’s Spirit will not dwell there. Therefore, if you hunger for the Holy Spirit to live within you, you must first provide a clean vessel in which It can live.

Peace of mind and a worry-free life reward those folks who provide clean vessels in which God’s Spirt can live.

Looking at the bible, it seems the holy spirit in general didn't "dwell in" people (be they "clean" or "unclean", it "came upon" people when needed

Which is why God cleaned the vessel, by dealing with the sin problem once and for all, so that we could be indwelt by Christ.

We ALL start as uclean vessels, when the Father calls us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is what cleanses us thru Jesus blood and renewing our minds with His Word.

it took Jesus for the Holy Spirit to indwell permanently, that's why David prayed for God not to remove the Holy Spirit from him.

that's what it meant when Jesus said I go so the Comforter may come. In His physical (preressurection) body Jesus couldn't be everywhere but the Holy Spirit could.

There is much confusion about this in the church,
and there are several reasons why the Truth about many things
is NOT taught in the churches.

If you wish, I can post the NT verses which prove:
1) salvation results when the Holy Spirit comes INSIDE
2) baptism with the Holy Spirit results when the Holy Spirit comes UPON

Jesus Himself anoints no one with #2 unless he/she first has #1.
However, they can be simultaneous (like on the Day of Pentecost).

When the Father looks upon us He sees perfection for He sees us through the filter of the Son that abides in us through the Spirit. He sees Christ's holiness, not our imperfections. Yes we are commanded to 'work out our salvation with trembling and fear' Phil. 2:12 in the sense that we remain mindful and diligent in the 'course set before us'.Hebrews 12:1

Sounds good, but not biblical.

God washes His children and doesn't promise a perfect "worry free" life.

He promises that He will be with us in our troubles and catch every year we shed. Not that there will be no tears or we have to be spotless before He will be with us.

If you are making a general statement, that there is an inconsistency between living a Spirit-filled life and being constantly full of negative thoughts and motivations, I can agree with you. However, if you are making an absolute doctrinal statement, I must disagree. As others have written, it is God who cleanses us by the blood of Jesus Christ, making us clean for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This is an ongoing process, because the same Spirit convicts us of sin, and we must again appropriate the cleansing of repentance by faith. Our sin does not push the Spirit out of us, though it may harden us to His gentle nudges.

Evil thought comes from the kind of spirit that resists the work of Spirit of Christ.

We offer our corrupted ....aging in a process of decay leading towards death and total destruction of the rudiments that return to the lifeless spirit dust they were taken from bodies as living sacrifices always in view of his mercy. We are promised new incorruptible bodies.

Even Christ lived in a body of corruption .It was necessary to fulfill his promise in Isaiah 53. A theosophy as a vision like used in other places would not work to condem flesh in the flesh corrupted flesh and blood was needed

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Flesh and blood will not enter the kingdom of God .We i believe as Christians simply do not know Christ after the rudiments of this corrupted world.

Hummm, it is written in John 9:31, "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth." Or 1 John 4:6.

Since the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is only the result of asking for it, see Matthew 7:11 & Luke 11:13, then apparently a man reaps what he sops.

ive heard this before, and yes His spirit did and does "come upon"people however too many text in scripture shows the Spirit dwells within the believer... we cannot simply ignore these:(1 Peter 1:11) (rom. 8:9)(rom. 8:11)and (1John 4:13)

Christ doesn't anoint the believer per se , He is the believers anointing by virtue of His union with the believer. The fact that Christ induels us with the fullness of the GODHEAD, has made us anointed vessels already. He is the fullness of the GODHEAD and we are complete in Him(Col 2:10)

God said it is our sins that separates us from Him,so He reconciled mankind to Himself by Jesus Christ,God and man in harmony, and gave us His human body that took away our sins,so that we could receive the Spirit, for that is the only way we can have a spiritual relationship with God.

In the Old Testament the blood of animals covered their sins, but could never completely take away sins, and every year their sins from the past came up again, and had to be covered by the blood of animals, year after year.

Because of that they could not have a spiritual relationship with God,for their sins were not completely removed,so they could not receive the Spirit.

In the New Testament our sins are completely removed,so we can receive the Spirit, and have a spiritual relationship with God.

If the Holy Spirit could dwell in an old vessel, and our sins does not hinder us from receiving the Spirit, then they could of had the Spirit in the Old Testament, and a spiritual relationship with God.

The Holy Spirit can only dwell in a clean vessel, and if we sin after we are saved,we have to get rid of that sin,by not wanting to do doing it again.

The Holy Spirit is sealed in with our new inner man - new creation in Christ. Eph 1:13 ; 4:30 The believer has a new clean heart where the Holy Spirit dwells and Jesus said He will forever be with us.

Sin does not separate us from God. Sin is deceptive and distorts our view of God, ourselves and those around us. Sin does not affect the new creation in Christ. 1 John 3:9 ; 5:18

It is deeds done in the body where sin lies and it is the flesh that people are giving in to and this causes death in this life so we are admonished to walk according to the Spirit and experience His life now in this earth. Rom. 8:13

The law of sin will always be in our flesh until we die and go to be with the Lord. The new person in Christ goes to be with the Lord - there is no need for a "last minute" cleanup as we are made the righteousness and holiness of God in our new creation in Christ when we received Christ.

It sounds like EarsToHear you are teaching and endorsing Works for Salvation. If i understand you correctly you are saying we cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit until we cleanse our self of all our sins which is Works for Salvation.

You are way off base. Its God who seeks us out FIRST. Its God who makes us Holy. Its God who fills us with the Holy Spirit.

I can prove this.

Romans 3:10-12
[SUP]10 [/SUP]as it is written,“There is none righteous, not even one;
[SUP]11 [/SUP]There is none who understands,
There is none who seeks for God;
[SUP]12 [/SUP]All have turned aside, together they have become useless;
There is none who does good,
There is not even one.”

10. There is NONE Righteous, not even one. If no one is Righteous then how can one know they have sins that need to be cleansed from them? They cannot.

11. None who understand. This proves out what verse 10 is saying that nobody seeks out God because none know about God.

12. There is none who does good. If no one cannot do Good than how can one cleanse himself first of his sins for the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit?

This is why you are totally off base on your assumption we first need to cleanse ourselves to receive the Holy Spirit. Its God who does the cleansing of our sins.

1 John 1:7
[SUP]7 [/SUP]but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Its God who cleanses us of all our sins by the Blood of Jesus first, then God fills us with the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The way you are teaching is mans way, not God's.

We can grieve the Holy Spirit by our thoughts and actions, but just a
plain and simple heartfelt I'm sorry is all it takes.
