If my flesh decided it wanted to shoot heroin into my arms from now on - I believe I would die way before my time while on this earth.

Romans 8:12-13 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—

[SUP]13 [/SUP] for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

But if I walked according to the Spirit within me that says - you are the righteousness of God in Christ and you are free from sin now - so yield your member to doing good now.

The truth is in the flesh dwells no good thing, and while the flesh will control the world,I believe it is in part compared to how bad the flesh can be,which I believe the world does keep the flesh controlled, but it will not be perfect, for nobody actually allows the flesh to have complete control, for there is only one person that allows the flesh to have complete control, and that is the man of sin.

The man of sin by peace shall destroy many, and will exalt himself above all that is called God,or is worshipped, and will exalt himself above all people, will say there is no God,believe in the God of forces,or the evolutionary process, and will convince the world he had harnessed the power of nature, and achieved powerand be in to the occult, that is so vile that Satan is able to control him,for the Bible says he gets his power form Satan, and will have the nature of the devil.

No other person will be so vile, and wicked as the man of sin,and that is because in the world people will keep their flesh in control, although they cannot be perfect about it,for nobody wants to be that vile, and cruel, and the only reason the man of sin is like that is because God is allowing him to deceive all people that do not love Him to follow the beast kingdom, and since he is controlled by Satan he will be used to take away as many people as possible before Satan is put down, which the Bible says during the great tribulation, that if Jesus did not shorten the number of days the man of sin could rule,no flesh would be saved,so not only will the man of sin try to deceive people spiritually to be lost from God,he will try to take out all flesh.

No human being would ever do something like that,to say forget all people and want them to be doomed spiritually, and physically,so the flesh could not completely control the world, although they will still go by the flesh.

I think a lot of what happens to us is the result of our own actions.

The flesh lust against the spirit(wants all control) and the spirit lust against the flesh(wants all control)

The flesh Is brought Into captivity to the law of sin because It Is weak.

Galations 5:14-17

King James Version(KJV)

14.)For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15.)But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16.)This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17.)For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

When you let your flesh control your action, what happens?

Romans 1:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Galatians 5:19-21 Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 4:31 bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, ... malice.

Colossians 3:8 anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Titus 3:3 foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

1 Peter 2:1 all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,[/
i]

and lying.

After all, the flesh does not care how it satisfies itself.
If we are guided by our desire rather than obedience to the Lord, we get into lots of trouble, more trouble than we'd care to contemplate.
